  • How to build a firewood storage rack out of 2x4's! We needed some organization to our firewood that we keep close to the house. This rack is a great solution. I love that we can keep bigger logs stacked on the bottom and smaller logs and kindling on the top. Build plans are linked below if you'd like to build one yourself!

Love the upper deck for the small stuff, it’s nice to have easy access to small pieces and kindling without having to sort through a big pile to get the fire started.

Totally agree! I purposely wanted a separate space for smaller stuff. So helpful. Thanks Jeremy!

I learned from another woodworker use the wood dust mix with wood glue and fill over the wholes to make it look seemliest!!!

This looks perfect to meet my needs. Just a small little wood holder for our outdoor firepit. I'm a super novice woodworker but will this withstand the elements well enough? I live in the North East of the US so rain and snow will hit it where it ends up. Should I consider more coverage or will it work well enough as is?

Thanks! I think it will work. Be sure to use a wood that will withstand the elements. Treated wood, or even better, cedar. I put mine on some flat pavers in the corners to keep it up off the wet ground. Enjoy the project!
