- I'm no longer using rovers in Astroneer's caves! I'm going to show you exactly why in this video! Using railways and trains is so much easier now in Astroneer! It's also sooo efficient and fast! You should try doing this too in your very own Astroneer world!

I just started playing this game and I'm really upset I didn't pick it up sooner. My reason was I didn't like the art style of it. LOL This game is amazing and I'm loving every second of it. So many possibilities!
It really is a game you can play endlessly! And I think the art style is actually great!
I bounced off it years ago since it didn't grab me like ONI but then picked it up again a little bit after she still play it casually now haha, it may not be as complex or intricate as ONI but still classic
Also i can't imagine EVER driving my large rover without paver or drill haha
Obviously trains are way better but still prefer digging out the path with a paver first so you aren't going blind with the train
I put the mysterious items on the rail posts and they light up the sky every time the train passes. It only works on the surface

I do love the trains, but on foot, a worklight for early game and a jetpack for later game works really well for caves. Also the C.O.L.E rail engine is a lot faster

I normally use the Road buiider with 1 trailer rover and a 12 2-slot tower on the end. lots of storage. The train you still need to build track so you are walking in the cave, and stopping to place new rails
I feel like placing rails is pretty fast and easy, but having a huge rover can help with exploration as well.
in the rover, you have plenty of space just by adding a large silo in the back. (the one using 3 steel)
I don't think I've tried doing that, at least not in a video! But I will! Thanks for the idea!
That's how I use my rover, then the empty space on top is for a packaged shuttle so I can depart when I'm done with a planet
I really don’t know what a large storage silo filled with medium storage silos is, do you know what that is? I think that can fit in the river pretty easily and give you basically unlimited storage.
Yeah, that does fit on a rover, but you could have 6 of those on a train!
Post the rail update the game is very much fun.. And the reason it's fun is because of these possibilities 😍😍

I was confused why you always flip the rail engine around since you can just reverse haha but if its preference that makes sense
Yeah, it just feels weird going backwards🤷♂️😂
The train can move in both directions without moving the engine to the other end. Stay in the engine car and press the WASD keys. W moves the train forwards, S move the trains backwards on the track. UP/DOWN on a controller does the same thing.
Yes, that's a pretty good feature! And it also seems to go the same speed backwards as well!
There's only one problem: going backwards makes me motion sick, so I always turn the train around!😂

I know its new and not everyone has it but the few times I explore caves for fun I use eva and stilgar
You can also use c.o.l.e to go faster when traveling through your mine

If you turn the rover drill on and off quickly it really speeds things up.
Haha, yeah, I sometimes use that trick, but I think it looks weird in videos, idk

you still go into the caves once you have a trade platform?
You can do it for events, like at the beginning of this year we had an event that required going into the caves for special items.
But you can also go in for fun or if you're doing a challenge playthrough, like a "no soil centrifuge and no trade platform" challenge.
