I am a half-assing miner then. Well, I try to tidy up my base, but it inevatible fails every time. Also... the sunlight BURNS us it HURTS! Get this glowing eye of doom away from us!
New player type: dirt maniac. He has a soil-based farm to produce literally anything, rarely explores and has a large rover with two drills and a ton of medium soil canisters.

Id say im a colonialist because my favorite thing to to is set up small to medium bases on all the planets and then focus all my effort on my main giant base i also just like starting fresh

I'm like this 80% of the time.
I'd probably add a category called "the old-timer" because for me at least, all of my exploration and mining methods are pretty outdated and I never automate things because I like doing what I know works (and I'm afraid of an auto arm putting hydrogen in my smelter). I've been playing since alpha when they had the sandstorms, so I'm still trying to catch up with everything new the devs add.

Here's a tip. Dont put your auto arm next to your atmosphere condenser and your smelter at the same time.
Rip sandstorms imo they should add more of that type stuff would give more options of a “weather monitor” or smthn like that
I am personally a mix between the automation dude, explorer, and Miner. I just like having stockpiles of resources and huge storages funded by auto arms and to explore the unique maps and cave systems in which I use auto extractors to gather rare resources

I am an explorer, but I'm also a scrapper.
A scrapper has 2 or 3 large rovers connected together with an extra large shredder in the middle, and power on the front, storage on the back. The scrapper shreds everything in sight and uses the trade platform for resources they don't want to go physically collect.

I'm also a scrapper. I like going around cleaning up the planet. I agree, scrapping keeps me from having to mine stuff or visit planets.
I'd add to this/mention the rover also has a paver/drill on the front so the he can get to any location that scrap might be dropped with minimal "get out and check" issues. I've spent entire months just driving around planets to clean them up while listening to audio books haha.
I'm definitely an automation maniac, as well as a little bit of a serial hoarder. I have factories for every resource in the game, and i like to keep all the fun things i pick up while exploring. I also definitely have an explorers' backpack, with worklight, jetpack, portable oxygenator, hoverboard, drill mod, canisters, and QT-RTGs. leaves me barely any room for resource collecting.

I think it gives you extras based on how many players have joined, so that each player can have one.

I think I'm the Tether'er as i like to explore on foot and drag out lines of Tethers to every major waypoint on my Radar, yes its a long and slow grind but I'm doing Planets in the order they are listed, so i dont have access to the resources to make a mobile oxigenator yet...

I would say I'm something like a "Relaxed enjoyer" I keep my base simple yet functional, I love getting different vehicles but I'm not the one to automate stuff or go mining all the time, I love seeing what stuff I can find but I Also have a permanent base, I really just enjoy the game as much as I can

im a nomad automatic miner, i love making large fleets of automatic large rovers to explore and destroy planets with friends

I am some kind of miner - explorer hybrid. I have bases on every planet with holes into the caves for maximum resource obtainment. I know where everything is and can get things quickly and easily.

@@KuyaGameAstroneer Little bit of everything I think. Last time on Xbox I played until 100% achievements. This time on Steam I'm setting up big bases on every planet. I like most things about the game so I just do a bit of everything really! I never got the hoverboard last time so I will be working towards that mainly.

I'm probably a jumbled mix between Miner, Explorer, Hoarder, and Bomber. I stay mostly underground, rarely stay in the same cave for long, and would much rather kick down the wall with 349 dynamite than just mine a small hole in it and squeeze through. Yet, with all of that, and still refuse to go anywhere without my HUGE rover train with chess, marbles, and other knick-knacks
I love space because exploring seeing what on planets and if astroneer gets a new rocket or planet I will use it to explore in a heartbeat

I've been called the "garbage man" because unlike your typical miner, my rovers is 4 cars long and hold an extra-large shredder and as many storage I can fit on the rest to roam around the planet collecting debris. I want my surface and caves to be clean of all trash. The garbage man? Yes, the garbage man can!
I found your content looking for an automated farm and I watched that so many times just to figure everything out...and because I love the way you present things, it's so funny. I think I am a miner, but I'm oud fashioned? I just like digging everywhere, never use a rover, to be honest, I had a bad time once and never tried again... lol
def a mix, a bombing exploring miner, did dabble in automation at one point, does help get those bombs going
I'm somehow every single types... Lemme splain:
-Made a working calculator
-Have big ass bases chocked with items
-Owns multiple rovers
-Automate collection of resources
-Complains with devs for achievement bug
-Collect every new research item, sometimes twice
-Tries new racetracks and minigames with friends
-Dig to core and back in less than a minute
-Attached rockets to rover to dig faster
-Hydrazine guzzler
-Is still searching for the mythical floating gateway for the perfect true flat base
-Has experienced all gas explosions
-Made catapults with auto arms

CHALLENGER!! I know too much. Me and my astronomer counterpart have done unheard of things even by todays standing in the game excited to check the latest update haven’t been round the system in a while
I'm a miner with an automation focus. I love exploring caves, and I like having large rovers on every planet. I also like large resource canisters full of materials, and it's just awesome when extractors do the collecting for me. But I love the caves.

I have another type for you. The stay at home mom, always plays with friends but rarely leaves the base, they always spend their time doing chemistry, research, power management, trading, anything that improves the base without them having to leave.
You missed one buddy! The conductor, I just spent the last three days straight playing with the train and making giant rail systems on my planets.

i feel like there should be another category similar to byter but instead of wanting to get bytes its getting an unreasonable amount of power where your base might not need it but you always make more rtgs for the higher power count. I would always have automation for pretty much everything and i would use that automation for the creation of rtgs to get an even bigger power count

I'm a combo of Miner and Explorer. I have a functional base at every gate on every planet/moon, complete with a rover, home shelter, and a mine with air trail to resources within.

I am an automation maniac that slowly evolves to an engineer 😂 and also having a switch for lights is soooo accurate, idk why but i like to turn on and off lights anytime i wish 😂

New type of player: Scientist. he almost never leaves his base and usually he uses trains and gateways to travel. he has a way to get most resources while in the comfort of his base and usually gets really mad when he dies.
I'm what might be known as a "rescource freak" (or loot goblin if we're talking any game with loot) which is similar to the hoarder in a way. I can't play on a natural adventure because there isnt enough rescources (not the collectables) and I live exploring just to keep harvesting for my massive base and storage. c:

I’m still too new to the game so- so far I seem to be leaning towards hoarding or mining but I like keeping the camera far from my face and I haven’t figured out how most gadgets and machines work so I’m just shoveling dirt and hoarding the terrain itself, thinking about hollowing out a planet and keeping the dirt somewhere in case I need it. Maybe I could build a tower to space! Who knows! I sure don’t!
Heck, I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers and only clicked on this video cuz it seems relatively spoiler free for where I’m at! Great video by the way, only gripe is how every type listed is someone who has spent weeks in the game already. Meanwhile I am just now starting to test the radius of various plants and slowly letting myself stand next to a popcoral (not when digging it though, the explosion is violent and scary ;-;) fun fact when I read that the white mushroom shoots spikes I thought it was a ranged attack and was very surprised when it didn’t hurt at all when on a wall I planted them on because the spikes are only underneath it for some reason I think?? I dunno, very interesting to watch you jump on one in the video with no repercussions! Scared to try it myself still

Explorer for sure. I'm trying as hard as I can to not use the soil centrifuge/trade platform, so that I go looking and traveling for the resources I need. Except for clay. Oh and hoarder haha.
I’m an Auto Maniac/Hoarder! I have a large storage canister for each resource and a secondary storage area for various items, but also an automation system that goes from the each auto extractor back to my base, through the smelting process, and then back to my storage area…. And I have enough hydrazine to last me through 5 different play throughs. Not because I think I’m going to need it, but just because I can’t stop making it!

Definitely an explorer, my automated Nano Carbon alloy factory is just an excuse to actually have an automated hydrazine farm, that keeps our shuttles, jet packs and VTOLs always with plenty of fuel :)

ehm, i am in the flatter i ALWAYS do this to the area around my base(not for far after my base tho) like there is nothing i hate more than needing to move the camera up and down for my buildings i want them all next to my rocket on the flattest train possible, i always land in the nearest landing pad from the portal but i dont go there i just want to be close to it, also i never made a leveling block cuz i thought its a 1time use so thanks for showing me, its leveling time i will no longer have to dig and rise the ground for the perfect angle
i am also a redstone "engineer" in minecraft so maybe if i understood a bit more i will be both Automator and an engineer

I think I might be an explorer, I just make fully functional bases literally everywhere with a preset list of everything to start a base with every single piece of equipment.
the cheeser. you see him drilling non existing dirt at a gate portal with an excavator for hours without moving during the night. automation processes the dirt into resin, converts it into canisters, shreds them and send them to space for all sort of ressources.

I started as an explorer, then a miner, then became a true flatter because I wanted to be an auto maniac with the purpose to build enough dynamite to end the game as a bomber.

I honestly didn't think I was any of these at first but the more I think about it, I realize I'm an explorer. I have a small base on every planet with plants to feed Princess, Rogal, Bestefar and Enoki who I keep on me at all times, and I can't go anywhere without a portable oxygenator and a hoverboard

i am a mix of automator and bomber. my base isn't in calidor, but I have a huge dynamite farm there (to blow desolo, of course), whille having multiple smaller farms at the other planets.

Miner for sure but I am slower so I only have one rover that's linked with more carts. And all the stuff I need goes down at once. I even built most of my base down near the core of sylva 😂
i think another way of saying "automation enthusiast" vs "engineer" is just to say Satisfactory vs Factorio players
i conseider myself a "casual" i play on the same save every time, play the game the intended way, might participate in some exo requests but never really strive for one thing, my base isnt automated but is working.

I'm a "Train Operator" ever since the rails update I've used only trains and rails for transport. After a couple weeks, I've got a transplant rail road lol

when you said "the explorer" I found it a bit funny since I always use my rocket at least 4 times in a 30 min game session though I'd prob say I'm both this and the hoarder but I never have more than 1 save sadly unless it's to find out some stuff in creative

I feel I am a mix of miner, automation maniac, explorer, byter, and bomber, I have a auto gas farm on calidor for sulfur got like 300+ sulfur got a auto storage on my main base on novus I have basically everything researched but still find myself grabbing researchables I spend a decent amount of time in caves and just exploring with no real goal in mind haven't got a hover board yet though

hey kuya gaming, could you rank the best way to store minerals that dont include auto arms or medium/large resource canisters, i’d say a large silo b with medium silos on each slot
definitely more of an adventurer. i've gotten so used to my less-than-six free backpack slots that i sometimes forget how much space used to be there.

I don’t think myself as any of these but a bit like a miner but my base is large and extremely messy with not automation and items everywhere because I have no space to put my stuff from getting too much

I'd consider myself the 'perfect base' builder. I like to organize my base and have it be clean and coherent. As such, I am not the engineer type. I don't want repeater pins all over the place. I only have 3 areas of automation, and they fit nicely within my base layout. I always like t9 think of ways I can better improve this layout, and have changed it many times.
I'm definitely the explorer I was the first one in space and now I stuck on desolo because I for got an extra thruster
honestly, im a mixture of ALL of these. mostly explorer, and automation person dude. with exploring tho, i only have 1 base. the only ones im not, are gang member and challenger. with mining, i actually tend to dig for soil 75% of the time to use to feed my machinery, as a result of this, the area near my base is always impossible to traverse without a jetpack, or a drill and paver equipped rover. i always have a few qts on me, a portable oxygenator, 2 jetpacks, a hoverboard and a drill mod 3.
I'm probably an explorer. I always have big bases on all planets and just like finding things (not like a hoarder).
I'm a automation maniac, Bomber and Biter and maybe a little bit explorer

I consider myself the explorer type player, before the hover board and vtol came out I would use a tractor and load it with beacons to mark points of interest around the planet so I can come back later, I got lost because of all the beacons

The Soil Centrifugee. Has Rovers with silos full of soil canisters and has massive farms of Soil Centrifuges so that they never need to dig out Compound, Resin, Organic, Clay, Quartz, Ammonium or Graphite ever again.

I like my bases flat, but only because it's easier to build. I have a base design I put on every planet to be able to get resources back and forth, until I get automation. Then design a resource generation base that's automated and only requires dirt. From there it's digging hordes of dirt and digging holes.
Haven't gotten past that part yet :D
