Yes, I'm still using it. It does look old school but it's a fully functional database program that is updated regularly.

Hi Iva! I also was hesitant to drop the money on it, but I purchased it back in last november and I can say it is worth every penny. That said, as she said in the video, there is a learning curve, but this video helps to explain a lot of it. There is also an unofficial facebook group which has people who use the software that you can ask questions to. There are over 700 people in the group facebook.com/groups/SM3Support/

The main thing is that first couple of months when you are still entering everything in as well as getting used to the layout and functions. After that, it is really great!
Great Video and it encouraged me to go ahead and buy. If you are pretty savvy around software programs, you pick this software pretty quickly. It took a full couple of days [holidays] to go through my inventory, recipes, moulds and so much more. Before this software, I was organised chaos, now, I know everything that is in my soap room. I left nothing out and neither does the software. You can even set GST. The CZcams video doesn't go far enough to the fact that nothing is forgotten. Once everything is set up, I know what my net worth of products and supplies are and it factors everything into the finished bar. I can not speak highly enough about Soapmaker 3 Pro and am over the moon about how organised I am. If you still need more help, there is the PDF manual from the Company. I am glad I went with the Pro instead of Lite. If you consider buying this software, take the time to learn it or you will not get the most out of it. Amazing!

I am not sure if it is available in Spanish. You can ask soap equipment. If you know the English words, then it would not be hard to use in English because there is not any grammar to be concerned with. Entiendo que quieres leerlo en espanol pero escribes ingles bein. Puedo ayudar con su ingles. :-)

Wow Bonnie that is really awesome! That will make FDA record keeping really easy! By chance can lip balms, bath bombs and lotions also be tracked in it?
Yes, you can add in any non soap recipes including lotion, bar lotions, lip balms, other balms, bath bombs, bubble bars and so on.. Getting your inventory in is the first hurdle. I still have older stuff not entered. If I am using it, I quickly add it and then enter the recipe.

I noticed in the video you shared with us that you use the packaging section to add labor cost, I know it should be simple to add that to the packaging , I cant seem to figure it out.
Did you add a new category and then just count 1 hour as an item @ $per hour? Do you also add self employment tax to the packaging section? Thank you again for everything you have shared with us

No, it does not.
That is a cool program especially that mold feature. The calculator is very cool too. Windows 10 has a calculator that is nice. Wish the program came without that wizard lady.
You can hide her. :-)
So it will be lurking in the background and she will pop up from time to time just to remind you she is hidden. Just change to something that is soap related would be a better thing to do.
The wizard is a helping tool that is there to help you step by step with a task. If you turn her off, you won't see the wizard anymore. I still have all my helps and tips on as I continue to learn. But, I do understand that a wizard doesn't appeal to everyone.
Hi. Do you Know if you can enter soap bar inventory that you buy from other soapers? ie. soap you did not make from raw materials. Or does it only allow inventory that you make from raw materials/ batches? Thanks.

Janice Evans yes, has both American and Metric units. And, it will convert so you can input in whatever unit the product is sold as.

When you are entering a recipe there is a lye / water tab and there you can set the lye discount, water discount and lye concentration.
Do you buy your lye on line? or local?
Thanks for sharing, how much time did it take you to enter all information? It seems a lot easier than my excel with so many more features.
It does take time entering everything. This is why I am taking it at a steady pace. I've been entering everything new or that needs to be used as I go. I still have a lot that is not entered. Once you get things entered, it is much easier to use.

Did you download the program online or did your receive a program disk in the mail to upload in the computer yourself?Does it actually keep a running inventory of all your stock? I ask because while you were listing a recipe on the screen you kept saying, "do I have that in stock.... yes, I do". >> That's amazing if it can keep track of your stock of oils and other supplies on top of your recipes. Then, give you the costs and suggested retail prices. Fantastic!
What would be even greater, would be if it could CREATE A RECIPE FOR YOU if you entered just the oils you wanted to use and the size of your batch. If it could calculate all the measures and qualities of all the oils and butters and give you a recipe that would be optimal for every important detail, such as hardness, cleansing, conditioning, sudsiness, creaminess, as with soap calc, that would be truly a blessing. I say that because using soap calc can often be so frustrating getting your soap to fall within the perameters set for each oil. I'm waiting for a program that can do that.

Yes, it keeps a running inventory. I knew I had it in stock. I wasn't sure if I had entered the last shipment though and I wanted to use an example with stuff that was already entered. I had just received a shipment. Sorry about that confusion. You will need to audit inventory every once in awhile but it does a good job of keeping track overall. If you do need to change something in your inventory, you can. For example, if you accidentally spill something, you can adjust your inventory. Or if you botch something, you can adjust, etc.
While you do have to enter in the ingredients to your recipe, you can view the properties and adjust it until you are happy with it and then save. It calculates everything for you so it is very easy. No separate lye calculator needed. What you are describing is just something that comes with experience. When you get to know your oils, you'll be able to just know which once will produce the right qualities and that will become more natural for you to do. The best program is the one between your ears so it comes with experience. ;-)
