My Mathilde bloomed for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful. 🌸🌸🌸 I definitely noticed once I started watering and fertilizing my Anthuriums more they started growing a whole lot more. Jaclynn is totally right. Watering and fertilizing your plants more often works. Which reminds me I need to fertilize my Hoya more

Thank you so much for this video. My mom mentioned she was into Hoyas lately and I ordered two for her. They will arrive tomorrow. One Hoya Mathilde and another one with "Eskimo" (I'm sorry, it's the name🙈🙈) in it. I own over 50 houseplants, but mostly aroids and have no clue how to care for Hoyas. So thank you for your tips ❤❤❤

Super informative! I’m still trying to optimize conditions for my Mathilde - she’s only growing from one vine and recently grew a second vine on which I broke a new leaf.

I do have some Orchid spray that I need to really use on my Hoya, so far most of them are doing good, especially the ones that got mealy bugs, they are finally doing better. I got a tiny Mathilde and it did not grow until I put it in a cabinet. It’s growing like crazy now! Finally! I had it like a year before it grew. So probably getting a more established one would make it easier to grow in ambient, right? Love the mathilde!
Extra humidity will help the roots grow! Once it's established, the extra humidity isn't necessary 😊
Mathildes are my favorite plant. I had a huge, happy plant until last October when I got super sick. I managed to chop & prop & save a bunch, but now they’re reverting to carnosa. Ah well. I’ll let her grow & see how much mathilde we keep.

Thanks for this very informative video, I think my mathilde needs some foliar spray so I need to find what’s available in my country. My mathilde bloomed once and had about 3 or 4 more little peduncles but they didn’t do anything. So it’s time to take a close look at her and see what’s going on.
The Serpens got its name from the shape of the leaf. It’s shaped like a Serpens head.

I just 2 small starters of Mathilde but they were supposed to be splash and they aren’t 😢. I love the Mathilde anyway. Have you done a care video on the var Hueschkliana? I got a starter of that and it got root rot and half has died and I’m trying to restart the roots. Tfs

Believe It or Not quiz like to stay wet. The trouble people have with keeping them with his lack of are on the roots. If you have a super chunky mix with enough sphagnum in it to keep moisture on the roots constantly you will notice Hoyas orange the slow Growers they've been made out to be
It depends on the Hoya species. I wouldn't recommend letting most stay wet. They need a dry period as well! But yes, they need more water than what people will usually suggest!!

He breaks it down better than ever could, but in trying to replicate their natural environment the air on the roots is the key to Good Health as they are epiphytes. I have a few that I keep soggy with a fan giving airflow. Take a hoya that you don't care a whole lot about and try it. You will love it.

I totally agree that Matilde is a very good first hoya AND the super growth elixer is a game changer!! I can't get over how much new growth, blooms and peduncles mine has put out this spring. I brought my first hoya, a tri color carnosa, home about a year ago. The Matilde came a few months later and has been an overachiever in comparison!! Love it. I have a serious question. I keep hearing about mealy bugs and hoya. How do mealybugs happen? Can they just show up in your home uninvited? Do they hitchhike in? Knocking wood...but I've gone from my first hoya a year ago to 30 at last count. I've never seen any, thankfully! I want to keep it that way.
