Scho-Ka-Kola - Weird Stuff In A Can #75

  • Here's something I stumbled across whilst watching Steve1989MREinfo - Scho-Ka-Kola is an 'energy chocolate' product that has been around since 1936 - it's dark chocolate with added coffee and Kola nut powder - making it an on-the-go energy -boost substitute for hiking and other outdoor pursuits.
Here's a link to the video on Steve's channel - If you like it, please comment and say Atomic Shrimp sent you:

That's because you don't understand the lore. The etymology of the can opener.
It's to prevent liquidy products from splooshing all over the entire cosmos upon removing the ring pull.
Chocolate does not sploosh (at least, not room temperature chocolate) therefore, no can opener.
You joke does not make sense, therefore I dub thee Billy Crystal Carrot Top the 3rd, Esquire (magazine)

Oh I have not seen Scho-Ka-Kola for ages! I can't say it is still a common sweet at our supermarkets in germany, but you see it offered occasionally. The offical site of Scho-Ka-Kola has a tool to search for close by shops where it is in store, which tells me I would have to drive about half an hour to reach the next shop where it is available. But it is still very pricy, even if you don't have to order it via internet.
By the way - the little bump you are wondering about at 2:20 is indeed the designated, yet very ineffective, way to open then tin can. At 1:48 you can see "Hier Drücken" written on the side which translates to "Press Here".

This may just be a theory. I noticed the chocolate triangles have a ribbed top. Assuming the sharp edge is under the indent of the tin. Perhaps you could use it to in a way lobb off a piece or two using the ribbed top of the chocolate. Simply by in a way aligning the tins lid to a desired portion of the ribbed piece. Then pressuring downwards to cut a piece off. Maybe. Maybe not?
