That's a Ball Peen hammer. I like your thought of putting the lead tape near the bottom corners so I don't add too much to the swing weight of my control paddle.

Nice video 👍 One way to demonstrate the differences in swing weight is swinging a hammer from both the handle (high swing weight) and the the head of the hammer (low swing weight) The static weight never changes but it sure does a good job of showing the difference

Agreed - I saw that in one of the videos I linked in here. I decided to go with the sledge :). Appreciate the comment.

Nice weight placement explanation, but I'm really glad to see you propping Head tape. Love the stuff, been using it since my paddle had cat gut😁 Lately, I've been hitting the trade name with a black Sharpie just for aesthetics.

I have seen that done for sure. It is the best quality edge tape imo.

My paddle is a bit narrow. I want to increase the sweet spot. Lead on sides?

Good news is that you can move the tape around and see what feels good. That is pretty easy to do and one of the great advantages of lead tape

Do you want more lead in your environment? The thin cover on my lead tape wore off over time. Great. For a very small benefit.

My understanding from a player who worked with lead their whole life is that it is safe as presented. Different than lead pain that flakes and may be ingested by children. I cover mine in an abundance of caution. And lead is a natural element found in nature.
