I knew the Major and Minor pentatonics but it just didn’t work out for me. I watched one of your videos a couple of weeks ago, going over it two or three times and it eventually clicked, I’ve turned a massive corner, thanks to you. 👏👏👏

But I am more disciplined now at age 50 so maybe I’m learning more now than I ever would’ve at 13. I’ve been a music and guitar lover my whole life but I’ve never appreciated it more than I do today. After a long day and it’s finally just me and my guitar, the rest of the world goes away and I’m in a truly happy peaceful place. It’s like therapy or something and it’s very addicting. I just want to be in that happy peaceful place all the time. Anyway, sorry to go on and on I just wanted to share what music and guitar in particular does for me. Ian, when I stumbled across your channel way back when you had about a tenth of the subscribers you now have, I couldn’t have predicted how much your content, your teaching style, and your generous spirit would impact my life. I started playing guitar at age 10, and like many kids in the 1970’s I dreamed of being a rock and roller. Five years of guitar lessons made me competent enough to play rhythm guitar with other friends in high school, and in college I was in a band that played mostly original material - but I was the bass player, because we couldn’t find one. After college I just played a little bit of acoustic guitar, and it took another 35 years before I decided to pick up an electric guitar again, and figure out what I didn’t know, and why I could never competently - or confidently - improvise solos. Your channel, and your master classes, and your NeverLost Live workshop, gave me the ingredients that I was missing - ingredients that I never knew existed. I started jamming with other guitarists, began hosting regular jam sessions in my house, bought another house in Florida, started going to open mics, and got the attention of a few other guys who asked me to join a band they were forming, as their lead guitar player. We played our first gig at a birthday party last January, a week after we started - just nine songs. Learned a dozen more and threw our own party in May. I left Florida for the summer, and since I got back in September we’ve had a gig every month and have built up a following. Our next gig is a week from tonight, and we already have another booked in February and two more in March. I’m doing what I never thought I’d be good enough to do: playing lead guitar in front of crowds who applaud and cheer. I know that in no small way, I have you to thank for making a 10-year-old kid’s dream a reality, more than a half century later. It was worth the wait. Thank you Ian, Happy New Year, and I hope 2023 brings you all the success and happiness that you so richly deserve.

However the fireworks are already going nuts and the atmosphere is trapping everything at the ground. Air quality is already dropping rapidly. We won't be able to breathe outside in the morning.
