College has been so exhausting lately. I'm so much depressed n tired. sometimes I feel like quitting altogether. Professors show no mercy and just keep pushing us to the extremes. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't have opted for this field, and do something like bca, bsc etc. I'm so spiritually and mentally drained out.
I am thinking of taking a few months like half a year vacation after my graduation in 2023. Do you think that's ok?. Or will it hamper my future career prospects. By vacation I don't mean sleeping and partying around, but sitting at home, Upskilling myself without any other pressure, like academics and all.
    Please answer.
    Thanks

I am sorry that you are having such an experience.
Take a week/weekend whatever you need, try to reflect on why are you feeling drained. Is there too much workload? You do not enjoy coding/ computer science? Or is it because you don’t know a subject enough and that makes you feel behind? Also think about the career prospects of bsc/ bca vs what you are doing. It will help you gain some clarity.
If you get a campus placement, consider taking it. Later, you can try and negotiate with your employer about late joining.
I noticed your username- Depression ++.. That’s why I want to say: There is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel.

@@pratikshabakrola actually I love coding. That's the thing which keeps me happy. I love solving DSA problems. I want to dive into development too, but since I'm not from CS/IT, I hardly get time for it. Actually, I'm from Physics branch, and tbh I really hate it. I never wanted to pursue it, but had to, since I had no choice, as we couldn't afford private universities. That's the reason I'm so tired and depressed! Imagine working on something you truly hate, everyday, and passing exams😔
Regarding campus placements, yes, I have attended few. We do not get that much opportunity on campus, as we are not from IT background. I have attended a few Interviews, but everytime got rejected, reason being my lack for development and projects. I cleared online coding assessment, dsa part, as it's a peice of cake for me. But I literally got rejected everytime in interviews or RESUME SCREENING becoz of my lack of projects and development skills. 🥲🥲
And yes, this username is inspired from my depression and love for coding. With each passing day, I feel more and more depressed. That's why I tokk my username as DEPRESSION++

I can understand what you are going through.. here are some suggestions in case it helps,
      1) You can solve one leetcode problem a day
      2) once you have a good rank on leetcode profile, you can add that to your resume, this can help in your resume screening
      3) This option takes little more time but if you can manage to create a working project, you can add that to your resume and have better chance in getting IT job.
      4) The worse case scenario is you do above 1/2/3 after graduation.
I know it’s hard but don’t over think it.. and try not to be depressed!
