But idk, something about this video really rubbed me the wrong way. And when he pet those pigs, and just thinking in the back of my mind, those pigs were about to get murdered and were helpless to fight against it. That just sucked. My heart sank out of my chest. All those innocent pigs, dead. And they had no say in it. 😓

I recently went vegan and ive been watching lots of docos trying to educate myself. And although I get sad watching the slaughter videos, nothing compares to looking in their eyes and knowing this is the last day of their lives. The bit where we see the actual pigs just looking at us and it almost seems like theyre begging for you to save them had me crying my eyes out for the first time since going vegan. For so long I just thought of these animals as objects,and it physically makes me feel sick. Never again.

I initially went vegan for the health of it. And since coming across your videos I am staying vegan forever for the animals. It's absolutely despicable what humans do to them. I am so sorry for every piece of meat I ever ate for all the animals that I harmed. One of the most moving and powerful bearing witness vids I’ve seen. Thank you Joey and your fellow activists for giving them and their suffering a voice. The screams are horrific and I just can’t comprehend how anyone can ignore them and continue to consume products made from such beautiful intelligent sensitive beings. I became vegan for HEALTH reasons. I am in the health and fitness industry and through all my research and biohacking (Testing methods on myself and then on others) it led me well and truly to veganism because it is by far the healthiest way of life for humans. I have never agreed with the slaughtering of animals but as many others just didn't think about it. I came across your videos and it has really put in front of me two things. (1) I am so happy that I am vegan for more than just health reasons. (2) People really need to know about this! I find that people that are doing something that they know is wrong they play the ignorance card and stick their head in the sand, such as with alcohol being so adverse for your health but what I don't know doesn't affect me (out of sight out of mind). Good advice for everyone who attends these vigils:. use hand sanitizer before touching your face/mouth/eyes/nose. And wash your clothes after going home (if possible bring a change of clothes) i.e. if leaning up against trucks and reaching in to pet the animals. If you put your hands in your pockets there could be cross-contamination later. These animals are not raised in a healthy environment and are given antibiotics. I worry about zoonotic transfer to you. I love what you do, I follow your channel and am very proud of your movement. Just be careful and take care, Joey and all of you. I am a 63 year old grandmother and became plant-based for my health, my grandchildren and the future of this planet 2 years ago.

I think what hurts the most is the lack of compassion you get from the people driving the trucks and the workers sometimes. It kind of makes me wonder where the love is. Pigs are so smart it’s crazy to think that all human beings see them as are holiday hams and bacon. Christian Avancena Here’s the difference between carnivorous animals eating other animals and humans eating other animals: the carnivores need it to properly attain all necessary nutrients and we don’t. A lion, as you used as an example, is only able to properly process meat in order to gain the energy and nutrients they need since there are many differences in their digestive system as opposed to a humans. If you haven’t heard of this, there was a vegan youtuber (I don’t remember her username) who’d gotten a fennec fox. She saw that, technically, they are omnivorous, and decided to try and feed it vegan cat food since their nutritional requirements were similar. The problem with this was that the vast majority of a wild fennec foxes diet consists of things like bugs and small rodents, and only the occasional (emphasis on occasional) plant, which lead to the deterioration of the fox’s health which included persistent fatigue, hair loss, and sores forming on the skin. Knowing this, it is completely unjustified to blame a carnivorous animal for killing and eating other animals since they’re unable to do otherwise. Humans, on the other hand, are not omnivorous, and have shown they can thrive on a diet free of meat and animal biproducts, and even have the same type of intestines that an herbivorous animal would need, along with a few other traits unique to herbivores (a jaw that can move back and forth, forwards and backwards, and up and down as opposed to just up and down, flat teeth (we have canines, but they are in no way sharp), and probably a few more that I am either unaware of or have forgotten at the moment.) Yes, supplementing may be required for certain nutrients (such as vitamin B12), but it is far better than the alternative which requires you to needlessly contribute to a cruel industry by purchasing meat and animal biproducts. This was the main part of your reply that stuck out to me, so I’ll only be replying to that for now, but as stated, we do not absolutely require meat and animal biproducts in our diets, but carnivorous animals, on the other hand, very much do. Therefore, you cannot compare the two.

Hi Joey, I only went vegan in July, after a lifetime of consuming an animal diet. I suffered really bad depression and anxiety for years and got into meditation, and buddhism to a degree as a result, it really helped. But the whole compassion aspect with those practices really conflicted with my diet choice. I made all the usual excuses. But after watching the opening scene of Unity, where a cow was waiting to be slaughtered I went vegan overnight. I'd never consume animal products again. Just want to say, since then I've seen some of your videos and you're doing really good work for the animals, and helping people wake up. Consuming animal products have become so normal to me and the culture I live in, but there is absolutely no way I can continue on being an animal product consumer after seeing these videos. I recently went vegan and ive been watching lots of docos trying to educate myself. And although I get sad watching the slaughter videos, nothing compares to looking in their eyes and knowing this is the last day of their lives. The bit where we see the actual pigs just looking at us and it almost seems like theyre begging for you to save them had me crying my eyes out for the first time since going vegan. For so long I just thought of these animals as objects,and it physically makes me feel sick. Never again.

I like to tell the slaughterhouse workers that they deserve better jobs - that fucks with them.
That's because people jump straight to a knee jerk fear reaction. They feel that something is being taken away from them, they will lose their jobs, their homes, they feel uneducated, stuck, can't do anything else etc. What Vegans are trying to do is give something. Health, compassion, insight, a planet fit for our children and grandchildren. Vegans think about the mental and physical health of these workers too. And yes, these workers can and do deserve better jobs.

I love what you are doing here @Joey carbstrong. Thank you so much mate. I am American I have been vegan for around 7 months. Best decision I ever made in my life. I initially went vegan for the health of it. And since coming across your videos I am staying vegan forever for the animals. It's absolutely despicable what humans do to them. I am so sorry for every piece of meat I ever ate for all the animals that I harmed. I will never do it again and I am trying my best to get all my loved ones and friends and even strangers to go vegan because it's really the only way to live. Thank you again my friend.

I became vegan for HEALTH reasons. I am in the health and fitness industry and through all my research and biohacking (Testing methods on myself and then on others) it led me well and truly to veganism because it is by far the healthiest way of life for humans.
I have never agreed with the slaughtering of animals but as many others just didn't think about it.
I came across your videos and it has really put in front of me two things. (1) I am so happy that I am vegan for more than just health reasons. (2) People really need to know about this! I find that people that are doing something that they know is wrong they play the ignorance card and stick their head in the sand, such as with alcohol being so adverse for your health but what I don't know doesn't affect me (out of sight out of mind).

Good advice for everyone who attends these vigils:. use hand sanitizer before touching your face/mouth/eyes/nose. And wash your clothes after going home (if possible bring a change of clothes) i.e. if leaning up against trucks and reaching in to pet the animals. If you put your hands in your pockets there could be cross-contamination later. These animals are not raised in a healthy environment and are given antibiotics. I worry about zoonotic transfer to you. I love what you do, I follow your channel and am very proud of your movement. Just be careful and take care, Joey and all of you. I am a 63 year old grandmother and became plant-based for my health, my grandchildren and the future of this planet 2 years ago.

I think what hurts the most is the lack of compassion you get from the people driving the trucks and the workers sometimes. It kind of makes me wonder where the love is. Pigs are so smart it’s crazy to think that all human beings see them as are holiday hams and bacon. The animals are so beautiful and they can teach us a lot if we only just gave them a chance to be who they were meant to be, free.

Christian Avancena Here’s the difference between carnivorous animals eating other animals and humans eating other animals: the carnivores need it to properly attain all necessary nutrients and we don’t. A lion, as you used as an example, is only able to properly process meat in order to gain the energy and nutrients they need since there are many differences in their digestive system as opposed to a humans. If you haven’t heard of this, there was a vegan youtuber (I don’t remember her username) who’d gotten a fennec fox. She saw that, technically, they are omnivorous, and decided to try and feed it vegan cat food since their nutritional requirements were similar. The problem with this was that the vast majority of a wild fennec foxes diet consists of things like bugs and small rodents, and only the occasional (emphasis on occasional) plant, which lead to the deterioration of the fox’s health which included persistent fatigue, hair loss, and sores forming on the skin. Knowing this, it is completely unjustified to blame a carnivorous animal for killing and eating other animals since they’re unable to do otherwise. Humans, on the other hand, are not omnivorous, and have shown they can thrive on a diet free of meat and animal biproducts, and even have the same type of intestines that an herbivorous animal would need, along with a few other traits unique to herbivores (a jaw that can move back and forth, forwards and backwards, and up and down as opposed to just up and down, flat teeth (we have canines, but they are in no way sharp), and probably a few more that I am either unaware of or have forgotten at the moment.) Yes, supplementing may be required for certain nutrients (such as vitamin B12), but it is far better than the alternative which requires you to needlessly contribute to a cruel industry by purchasing meat and animal biproducts. This was the main part of your reply that stuck out to me, so I’ll only be replying to that for now, but as stated, we do not absolutely require meat and animal biproducts in our diets, but carnivorous animals, on the other hand, very much do. Therefore, you cannot compare the two.

Hi Joey, I only went vegan in July, after a lifetime of consuming an animal diet. I suffered really bad depression and anxiety for years and got into meditation, and buddhism to a degree as a result, it really helped. But the whole compassion aspect with those practices really conflicted with my diet choice. I made all the usual excuses. But after watching the opening scene of Unity, where a cow was waiting to be slaughtered I went vegan overnight. I'd never consume animal products again. Just want to say, since then I've seen some of your videos and you're doing really good work for the animals, and helping people wake up.
