One thing is missing: His mother was horribly cruel to him. There are assumptions that it was heartbreaking to his mother to continually return him to the orphanage. But, she played psychological games with him throughout his childhood. She returned him as a wealthy married woman after gifting him a horse on Christmas. She insisted that he work for her and lived with him so that she could continually mentally abuse him. It is definitely possible that he was a bad kid, but she kept the sister and pretended to rescue him later on. He was definitely a POS, but his mother was not an innocent victim. She was a victim, just not an innocent one... The other 43 people who suffered and died should be the focus, but most commentary focuses on his devil of a mother.
No doubt she could have been a bad woman, but he shouldn't have killed all those people. Maybe his bad behavior was genetic. She also lived far away when she got married to the last guy. I think it was at least 2 or 3 hours away and probably not good schools so maybe the Clayton schools for boys had a better education then some hic town. But to be fair I don't know the details of their relationship so you could be right.
