Are you riding today? Do you ride XC? Let us know 👇
Hi, my names Alex and I’m a high school mountain bike racer in Texas. I saw that on your indoor training kit video you fit a canyon lux on your kicker snap. I have a brand new canyon lux and I’m looking to upgrade my fluid 2 trainer to a smart trainer. Is it possible to use the kicker snap with my bike?
I had seen that the only adapter they had was 12x142 (non boost) and my bike is 12x148. Can I use the 142 adapter if I use my saris 148 axle?
Well i wasn't riding today but did swear a lot about rounded off spoke nipples while building up a rearwheel LoL. For sure i will use squorx nipples and the wrench for it the next time. That will save a lot of time and nerves.
Yes sir! I ride my 2021 Trek Top Fuel and absolutely LOVE it-
Yes i am Hell yeah i ride xc
Step 1: travel to Taiwan and visit a bike convention
Step 2: ask around who makes the frames for *enter your favourite big mtb brand here*
Step 3: order a couple of thousands, equip them with Shimano or Sram parts of your choice
Step 4: sell them in the western world for 4 times the manufacturing prize.
Congrats, you're a big mtb brand now!
Price is what you pay, Prize is what you win! Not from Sweden by any chance? (A common mistake in Sweden, as both those words are spelt Pris here)
Yes but it's in quality control where it changes the price, or at least this in what companies say
@@louiswright235 Declare bankruptcy and make new company. Rinse and repeat.
Prices in the industry have gone crazy. It's absurd how much people are willing to overspend on a mountainbike. The demand is more, so they can ask more. There is also the factor that some people have come to religiously believe the dogmas that one needs an Enduro bike to ride a 1m gap/jump or 1 meter of root sections. It's fucking absurd how many people are overbiked. Id love to have a fully. But given the maintenance , the purchasing costs. It's just not worth it. Industry just keeps on pushing the prices and making the sport less available for people with thinner wallets. Look at the Champs back in the day. They rode all the gnarly stuff without a suspension...
@@Pienimusta you used to run GT bikes then ?

Nice one for keeping the XC content going! cool bike too.
Thanks again for anouther great video 👍

Ελα ρε !!!! Χαιρετίσματα από την Ιταλία.
And Scott. And Canyon. And Cannondale. And Giant. And Trek.
As a trail rider the seatpost on the decent looks like a blade right to the nads 🥴
I have the 110x for about two years now and its one of the best xc bikes that i’ve own.
Same for me also, amazes me what you can get away with these days!
As an owner of the predecessor 110fx I have nothing but great feelings on it, surprises me what I can ride these days!
Not sure of having post mount caliper on the fork, and then flat mount on the rear? Seems if you buy frameset only you have to specially order a caliper by itself and then buy the rest of the brake system 🤔 sounds like a nightmare for the moment waiting for parts to arrive with current availability issues
Glad to see this has the sram universal derailleur hanger!!! Pleased bike brands are making our lives easier 🙏
Specialized, Trek, BMC, Scott, Canyon.... all doing it
Focus, bianchi,.. the list is huge.
Giant
Diamondback
Merida
Orbea too
And haro
And not one mention of cannondale
So I think it's gonna cost me the left kidney.
Yes, and the right kidney to put AXS on it, because that bike absolutely begs for AXS
Looks like an Epic. Good format to copy.
Fair play for hitting some of those trails w/o a dropper. Do you think it would be quicker on long xc / techy downs with seat lowered?
Would be faster on some of the rough stuff with a dropper, but if it makes up for the extra weight on the climbs depends on the trail and rider..
So they made the bars and frame or they just had them contracted out?
“Includes paid promotion” means “is paid promotion”
So what
@@lukeholloway7836 So they have to say the bike is good cause if not they arent getting paid

Hi GMBN you might not be able to see this but if possible can you make a bike test video of steel frames that is fillet welded? Reason for this there's a lot of people that disregard it as a weak weld compared to TIG. Plus I have not seen any Trail MTB that has fillet welds that is being used in trails and jumps at all. PLEASEEE
You forgot to give credits to the Vittoria Barzo Graphene ur using 😉
I know is hard to always bring cool, fresh content after all these years, but honestly, this felt like a 9min ad.
They were great a few years ago. Now they just do adds and very rarely put up some good content.
Because it was.
Yes really no valuable information, like how is it compared to other bikes. Really disappointing.
Needs more bling. I'd toss AXS groupset and dropper on that badboy, maybe even Fox Live valve. AXS would also really clean up that cockpit.
head angle's nice
No, it's 68,5 . Check the interview with the manufacture on mtbcult Channel
whenever i see a xc bike on gcn it looks to me like the fork is missing about 30 % air pressure, they ride so low in travel...
Italian and Venetian pride! 🇮🇹
I guess it would also depend on the riders they sponsor. If they can afford a winning pro rider/riders, they could influence the market that the bike is capable and good. Build thru that momentum and create a good reputation.
Take a look at those cranks:XX1X
The geometry of the black frame looks good but that orange fork needs to be black as well!
Is the straight bit of the seat tube long enough for a dropper post?
Looks like it, but not sure
You could probably squeeze a 125mm in there, which is about all you need on an XC race bike. I'd toss an AXS dropper on it personally
I love the look of this bike. But is there any bike maker consider to make this type of bike which can go as fast as 40+ kilometer per hour. since COVID-19 has exploded I love taking bike trip from the town to rural areas; so I want a capable bike with full suspension and can go faster as well
Only way to be able to avg those types of speeds is by riding road and actually training
It's def interesting question... I mean, if they (the bicycle manufacturers well known for making road bikes) are making MTB's, and those MTB's are good, and esp. if coming from a very well established and long standing brand (not singling out any manufacturer), then the big question is why aren't they seen more often then they are?
My assumption has been that the many brands I'm thinking of for a multitude of reasons just don't come across favorably when compared to the bikes from the well known MTB manufacturers. Might be as simple as the price isn't where it needs to be. Or the brand isn't really paying attention to what the customers expect the bikes to do. Or perhaps there is a failure to effectively market those MTB's... ?
Bla, too much thought, not enough riding - I got to do a little maintenance of my trusty steed then hit the trails to take in that beautiful weather we are experiencing! ;-)
i have a hardtail wilier 2020 xc bike and its amazing
i have two questions,
1. when i'm jumping on my hardtail, should i land on both wheel at same time or firt on back whell and then front?
2. should i upgrade my brakes from V - brakesto disks?
Two wheels and yes upgrade.
@@kiltymacbagpipe ok thanks👍
@@GiantLima Blake did a video last year of hardtail mistakes and talked about the back wheel and landing on it.
@@kiltymacbagpipe oh ok, thanks. I just watched
Nice bike sure it will come with a hefty price also.
base model is around $6k with both Fox kashima fork and shock, Shimano XT brakes and full XT 1x12 drivetrain. Not the cheapest, but not bad compared to other brands.
#GMBN #GMBNTech ER-MAH-GERD that's a beautiful bike!
Hi Rich...no dropper eh ? Yikes..yarbles at risk . Be safe and thanks.
you can pretty much ride XC without a dropper, it just gives you more confidence and requires less technique.
Quite common to see XC bikes (race bikes especially) without a dropper post
Francis Cade seems to think so since he is sponsored by them
Scott sports makes great road and mountain bikes.
what's next? campagnolo for mtb?
Seat up flexin
XC Rich can shred!
Price ?
That whip is 🤒
6:09 "DROPPIN"
Seat in the sky...
so much gold but why tf an oilslick cassette ?
Because you have to go with what you can get hold of in 2021? All others sold out?
I love how slim and fast this bike looks. Only if it was hardtail...
check their 101X and 110X, they also make hardtails. In fact, their MTBs have been selling here in my country for a couple years now, it's just they recently updated their geometries with their new lineups.
Wasn't focus a road brand before delving into MTB?
Slack head angle? 69 degrees?
Orbea oiz and BMC fourstroke
Renegade! :-)
3600 € for the frame and 5400 € for the base version it's to expensive and the saddle tube at 27.2 it's too thin to find a nice dropper.
also it's pronunced oo-r-tah
greetings from Vicenza
i've got a dropper on my bmc teamelite, that's 27.2 as well, it works perfectly.
@@AviatoreGK it’s an odd choice they could have gone with something more common
Pwhoar, nice bib shorts, Rich
Never saw the rear suspension move ... 🤔
What the hell were those grips?? they looked hexagonal
So I take it you haven't seen the Richy grips yet?
that shock really does not seem to want to move under braking, it looks so stiff going down the hill
Damn you're right, must be some poor linkage design, that's really not ideal
It won’t matter, with bmc at 67 degrees, Scott at 68& the new epic at 66 degree head angle, this is likely miles behind on the descents anyway 4 years too late on the geometry...
Where is Blake though
No dropper post and an integrated bar/stem? Hmm.
Just like the Scott Spark RC that Nino Schurter won all his Rainbow jerseys on.
Is this FoD?
where is this
Forest of Dean!
This bike was really easy to assemble czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Was it actually Louis this time or was it Leo again?
Definitely Louis! 😂
Well, it's probably not that difficult. Copy & Paste. Some new stickers and that's it.
*Chris Boardman, the famous mountain biker enters the chat*
Can we talk about the grips?
Die sind Murks.
We all know xc is the road biking of mountain biking
I'm a dropper post snob, this was hard to watch at times
They think it's still 1921, in 2021 is there a reason not to have one
Agreed, a bike is almost unrideable with its seat up like that
There's no reason why you can't put a dropper post on one .....?
This is for those who think enduro bikes are needed for blue and red trails .....
@@jeradgilbert2147 ye you can put one on it for sure, the only reason it doesn't have one is because they're heavier. But I'd rather chose an extra 400g and have a way better experience down hill
epic
I don't understand why there still are super race bikes without telescopic seatpost. Because the weight penalty pays of in the desends.
Because XC races are won on the climbs and XC racers are a lot like road racers in that they won't use tech if they feel they don't need it, and in XC world a lot of them don't feel a need for a dropper just like many road racers still prefer rim brakes.
Lapierre!

Hi
so when do we see a Pinarello MTB haha.
They already made a Dogma XC MTB years ago..
No mention about the XT brakes? Were they swapped out for the review?
great vid
The head angle Is 68,5. Check the interview with the manufacture designer on mtbcult Channel around 7:20
THAT, is a purty bike.
Do Scott Brand hate GMBN or just don’t pay them because you hear nothing about them on this channel
I’m sure Scott used to sponsor the channel. I watched from about 4 years ago and they were listed in the links. I think GMBN only mentions who pays them though. Scott seem to be quite road and downhill focused.
@@robonzo4817 Yes I remember back around 5 years ago. There was a feature on the dual twin remote system on the Scott. I think Doody had a Spark and Neil had either a Genius or a Ransom. Maybe Nukeproof offered more money because now I barely hear a mention especially as it is was a World Cup winning bike for years. There does seem unfair bias on this channel
@@scottlstone I think it’s just the trends. Going back years (mid 90s) a friend of mine was a sponsored rider for a small bike shop chain who specialised in Marlin, Gary Fisher and Trek. You never hear of the former 2 these days, (although marlin get great coverage on gravel circles) then a year later you were a nothing unless you rode Kona or Orange. By the time I looked at upgrading my bike around 2004 none of these brands seemed to be cool anymore and everything was specialized. Now it seems to be nukeproof and canyon. But it’s just marketing! And also a lot of the bike companies are now part of bigger groups
Why do manufacturers keep making sub 76 degree seat angles. Rich has his seat completely slammed forward, in addition to hurting the look of the bike I'd rather have the option to choose my seat position instead of being forced to sit a few mil further back than I'd like, even with the saddle slammed.
Aside from that though... she's a hell of a looker.
OK we get it wilier are a brand partner hence 3 videos about this bike 🤔😁
About the name they gave it.. "Urta" it's a nort eastern dialect word that stands for "push" 😂
It's Venetian, you got to say it goddammit, and it's not a dialect but a proper Language and recognized internationally as such.
@@FullMetalPier it's vicentino, not veneziano because we're talking of a factory located in the Vicenza's province. Don't mix pomi and peri please!
oh for god's sake, you're more ignorant than I expected! I was talking about the "Lengoa Veneta", and yes, it's a real language, whether you like it or not. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venetian_language @@VittorioSella

BENOTTO makes road & mtb bikes
Well all it is is a frame connecting all the other interchangeable parts. Just copy the design and specs on a leading competitor and you are done. Frames are simple. You can build your own in the garage if you can weld.

Specialized?
Specialized makes it all anything you want just for price of your soul
Specialised would have been a better example
Specialized were selling mtbs before road bikes
Its an ad tho
@@friendlypete10 I looked that up, Specialized produced their first two road bikes and THE first mtb the same year, 1981. They sure do like to sue people, changes my impression of them.
@@NitroAl who, specialised or Willer?
Disagree, specialized uses proprietary shocks, good luck servicing them anywhere there is no reputable dealer ... speaking of which there is still a clunk felt when that rear shock opens. Even after it's 3rd revision, I've ridden both Sworks Epic and Willer 110fx, my conclusion is shown by my profile pic
17030g? that's kinda heavy for an XC bike
Roadie points gained for the tight pants, but that beard.... it's ruining your aero man. You have to shave your face too not only your legs ;) ;) . Funny jokes aside, that looks like a pretty sick looking XC mountain bike. You can see it's made by roadies though, it's missing one of the most important things a mountain bike (any mountain bike really) should have: a dropper post. Put one on and she's mint.
Ever heard of specialized?
Nice to look at but my wallet will thank me when I don't buy it
Rich did you say the whole bike only weighs 1730 grams? 1.7kg, is it really that light?
1730g without "the shock" I assume "the shock" refers to the fork, or fork and rear shock.
With a little more thought I think 1730g is the bare frame.
I swear he said the whole bike but minus shock.

Giant make great MTBs
Some yes, some could be better. Anthem is a great XC bike. Trance X is a great aggressive trail bike. Regular Trance needs upodated geo. Reign needs more rear travel.
Miche wheels, fox factory fork, Richey wcs, SRAM xx1. They sure know how to pick parts. It's a shame most people that buy these will just ride them on tarmac to the coffee shop once a month.
