    The Yaris Cross has landed in Ireland and it builds on the famous Yaris name. There's one key difference between this and its baby sister though and that's price. Taking on angles of a mini Rav4, it is a great looking car but go for the Adventure model as seen in this video and it doesn't come cheap!

    A very good concise review on the Yaris Cross’ Im in my late 50s and I found this
    SUV an excellent car to drive and so Im looking forward to the arrival of
    My new Yaris Cross Excel ‘ in March ! Though I won’t hold my breath 🤷🏼‍♂️
    I have received news from Toyota that my new Yaris Cross excel is waiting for a car ferry from Zeebrugge Dock 🤷🏼‍♂️🇬🇧

    Great review. Aunt getting this in 22. At her age she found it easy to get in and out of due to raised height. Also she's moving from manual to Auto etc..Entry level model still has decent spec. She does low mileage and diesel didn't make sense any more for her. Warranty excellent on newer Toyota's.

    Good review. I've been a Toyota owner all my life and driving a Hybrid Yaris at the moment and love it. The cross is like a Yaris on stilts. A bit pricey for what your getting but definitely great quality and reliability which is a huge plus

      Well the Cross Luna is Similar spec to the Luna Sport Yaris (hybrid) which is 25,350 euro so it's actually just a 2000 euro difference

    Great video I’ve just purchased a 10 week old 800 mile demo Excel 2WD down sized from Rav 4 excel 2WD demo I don’t need a big car now this Yaris is a mini rav4 loving it it’s showing 67.8 mpg on the motorway 70mph cruise control on
    yes it’s pricy small in the back but it’s just me in the car last few yrs RAV4 Lexus Nx RAV4 Yaris Cross it’s well built and once you have had Toyota nothing else gets near it 5 star from me

    Good to see that the model you reviewed has a ‘space saver’ spare wheel. I’ve actually used one of those in an older Yaris - worth it’s weight in gold if you have a repairable puncture, compared with having to trash the whole tyre when it happens.
    Happy New Year!

    Good review 👍 I’ll check it out versus the the Ford Puma
    Update: had test drive, Pros: this is a quality vehicle with GREAT fuel economy, I was averaging 65mpg also, at least 50% of driving was spent in EV mode, some great safety features.
    Negs: a bit of road noise and a bit bumpy on those 18” alloys also, some wind noise mainly from back door area, Terrible back seat room and very awkward to get out of, not a fan of the split boot floor.
    Puma felt a bit bigger and drove much better and held the road brilliantly with less bumps even with Sports suspension albeit, additional safety features are quite expensive and not standard with Ford also, fuel economy and warranty fall well short of the Toyota Yaris Cross however, both vehicles are well worth a consideration 👍

    I'm not into cross overs but this looks a very nice and capable car. I like the design, a lot better looking than the standard Yaris.

    From were I live the entry level starts at 25,000€ and up to €29000 for the excel version which is still 2WD. I don’t see that the dealership here will bring the AWD version. 37,000€ is pricey for what it is, here with €40k you can get the entry level RAV4. At 28,000 I would expect to get the AWD as standard, its crazy how prices went up over the years just to get a small but decent car.

    I was very taken by the new standard Yaris when I saw one recently. It looked great and I think aesthetically better than the crossover cousin. The gap between the wheels and the arches on the crossover is enormous and to me looks a bit odd. For the same money you could get a nearly new CHR. Great review as always.

    • @jezko1910
      @jezko1910 Před rokem +1

      YC is more practical than CHR in every aspect, CHR is just better in terms of fashion.

    I think this car is a great purchase in the cheapest trim... Very well equipped and only 28k.
    The other trims doesn't add too much. The 17" alloy wheels aren't great as the 16 is more comfy...
    You probably have everything that you need with the basic trim...

  • @talkandplay

    No spare wheel in any UK spec.I checked so cool irish spec gets it on certain trim levels.

    Good vehicle for empty nesters. As a Toyota it's bound to be reliable and resale would better than average.
    I'm dismayed so many people want awd when with good tires it's just not needed. What it does is drive up the cost of repairs and therefore higher insurance cost. Extra cost you pay every year you own it. At least you save a lot of money on gas.

    • @NobbyOnCars

    I was thrown a bit by the different sequences of filming, switching between a UK registration and then back. These crossover vehicles are good with the raised ride height, although this one’s completely useless for a family with that rear door opening. What were they thinking?

    • @dickschuurman4684
      @dickschuurman4684 Před rokem

      They were thinking that thinking people with a (small) family would anyway go for a Honda Jazz or Crosstar... 😊
      Too bad Nobby on Cars didn't test it...🥴

      I agree. I have one as a Company Car and can't wait till it goes back. The fit and finish is appalling. It's made in France and you can tell.

    Lovely little car pitched at sporty couples or singles. No use complaining about aperture for child seat as if you're in the market for a family car you wouldn't be looking at a vehicle this size.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  Před 2 lety +2

      Still, some might want one and try to justify to themselves that it’ll work. Showing the seats helps.

    No such thing as self charging, load of marketing nonesene. Stupid little battery to make you think you're doing something with very little impact on your CO2 emissions.
