Apparently his first treatment for the original film was going through time and dimensions, so it must have been fun to see that finally happen.

Well they just announced a remaster coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch this year so you’ll get your chance to play again.
Yup, and the remaster is actually pretty good. Very nostalgic, lot of improvements as well. Playing through it again is a treat!

I love how Dan has all this backstory and lore for the Ghostbusters Universe boiled down to an exact science. When he started talking about the messon collider and boson darts and how the proton pack worked, I didn’t know why he talked about it until he finished... so awesome.

Id love to have a conversation with Dan Akroyd about his own beliefs and theories that he poured into the GB universe, both in regards to science and the world of ghosts and myhtology. while enjoying his Crystal Head Vodka of course, he just seems like a pleasure to sit and chat with

Reitmans movie was incredible, and he included aspects of the game, so he definitely appreciated what this game did. They are both amazing

A whole new appreciation after seeing Afterlife. When it's all said and done we got this and afterlife and as a fan I'm pretty happy with both.
I like the Easter eggs to the game, like Ivo Shandor's appearance. Funny enough the artists claims they came up with it on their own. Must be a legal thing.
Would be nice if someone went ahead and remastered this game in the future. It’s the best and most authentic Ghostbusters game so far and the fans deserve it.

Afterlife !!! Rip Harold Ramis
This is a true successor to the first 2 movies as Dan Aykroyd said in this interview. I went out and got it recently after watching this. Was late to the show so i got the Nintendo Switch physical version.
This game blew my socks off when it came out and I will cherish it with both movies forever. nobody in the history of gaming has put the care and effort into a movie franchise video game that they did here. My hats off to everyone involved including the big bad corporations that allowed everything to come together.
I just got the Remaster for free on the epic games store, A lifelong ghostbusters fan, I had no idea this game existed. What a blast to play through this thing. I really miss Harold, Its great to have some new content from him and the rest of the ghostbusters!
They should of call this ghostbusters 3 because this is the sequel of ghostbusters 2

This is the official third movie of the Ghostbusters
Even though it might not be the "official" third movie, it's written by the OG Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd with the OG cast all back together (with the exception of Sigourney Weaver and that other guy whose name I can't remember right now). So, for all intents and purposes it may as well be the third in video game format. Which I think is better, since I can get personally invested in the plot since I am involved in it. I have to work alongside the OG ghostbusters to bust these ghosts and send them back to wherever they came from. Something a movie could not accomplish...as well as the fact that there are surreal visuals and designs that would be a lot harder to do in a movie, and let's not forget that the cast aren't in the prime anymore where as in the video game they don't look a day over 200.

I'll tell you what, man. For 2009, it's pretty damn good. I found myself immersed in the gameplay, laughing along, and being excited. The only negative I thought is that I didn't get to drive the Ecto-1. However, as you're only realistically ever driving it from job to job, it might have turned into more of a chore than a feature. Maybe it would have been nice to include a sandbox version where it's free-play like GTA. Also, this reminds me that Ramis is dead and that makes me incredibly sad.

This game is fantastic and is the true sequel to Ghostbusters 2! I remember being so excited to play it after watching both movies and wanting more!
I'm glad I finally own this game. The fact that it was written by the same writers and stars the actual actors as well as makes great use of the soundtrack is a great plus. It's also neat to see that Ackroyd is passionate amd knowledgeable about the paranormal and science. For him it seems the movie wasn't just some script to bang out but an actual distillation of a subject he's inspired by.

Eventually there will be two Ghostbusters 3 movies. This one and Jason Reitman's movie, but this will remain as the real third movie because of Harold Ramis.

PSA: The remastered version is less than $10 on Playstation Store! So glad I bought it and re-experienced this fantastic game. So glad they were able to get Annie and William to reprise their roles (as well as Max von Sydow as Vigo - THAT was unexpected!).

Both the original and stylized versions of these games are absolutely amazing, I really like the stylized for the need to really think rather than just blast a proton stream, even still the original has amazing visuals and boss fights

Egon Was My Favorite
The reason why the game is sooo good, is because it's not a licensed videogame adaptation of the movie. Instead it uses the IP and the story is based on some of the concept drafts for the movie that weren't included. Then to top it off they used the original writers and actors.

Really excited for afterlife, but this game was the last ghostbusters content to be made with harold, and so much work and love for the fans was put into it. This will FOREVER and ALWAYS be ghostbusters 3. It feels like a ghostbusters movie more than any other ghostbusters movie or game could.
I own the original of this game and the remaster. I still play this game whenever I miss Ghostbusters and this is Ghostbusters 3. Harold ramis you are missed but never forgotten. With that being said I am hyped for Ghostbusters Afterlife. I pray that it is good!

I just bought this game in 2023 for the switch. I thought it was the worst video game I've ever played nearly on the switch but I still enjoyed it. Now that I know it was a remaster from over a dozen years ago It's a really great game.

The new film and this game are SO GOOD! And honestly they don't contradict each other. Just wish those damn angel babies didn't have been doing the same part for 2 freakin hours.

I'm so glad we were able to get this game when we did and with all the talent behind it. Losing Ramis before a proper follow-up film came to pass was a great tragedy. But thanks to his and others' involvement in the video game, as Dan said, this really did take up the mantle of "third Ghostbusters movie" and it was absolutely amazing to experience.

This is one of my all time favourite games I remember when the first ghostbusters movie came out in the 80s and the second one this game is brilliant I just brought it for my Xbox s one it’s great that they did this when Harold was alive I just wished they did a third movie but hopefully with the third one Dan bill and Erine and Annie can all come back one last time
