  • In this video we are replacing spark plugs on a 2014 Honda CBR1000RR after experiencing issues with starting and possible misfires in order to repair the motorcycle. The video is a short overview of the process and some minor items may have been omitted. This process would be similar for other motorcycles such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati, etc. If you have any questions regarding your street bike feel free to ask in the comment section.

      The process isn't too difficult but takes a bit of patience, especially when putting the plastic parts back on.

      How long did this take you?

    • @nothandsomebuthandy
      @nothandsomebuthandy  Před rokem +1

      In total probably 3 hours including moving the camera around. Putting the plastic back on took the longest because it goes together like a puzzle with very few screws or bolts.

    Is spark plug make the engine nois and after change the spark
    Sound like it’s smother

    • @nothandsomebuthandy
      @nothandsomebuthandy  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Not usually unless the spark plugs are so bad that you're not getting good ignition and instead fuel is igniting in the exhaust (backfire).

    Do you know the type or part number of the ngk iridium ix for a 2017 cbr1000rr?

    • @nothandsomebuthandy
      @nothandsomebuthandy  Před 10 měsíci +3

      NGK's website lists IMR9E-9HES for up to 2016 but don't list any plug for 2017+ so I think they just haven't updated their website. Other sites list the same plug for up to 2019.

      @@nothandsomebuthandy that’s why I asked because same as what you found on the NGK website, they only have the Laser Iridium up to the 16 MY. But you’re using the iridium ix which is different/better right?

    • @nothandsomebuthandy
      @nothandsomebuthandy  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I actually ran regular NGK yellow box forever in all my bikes. No difference in performance, just longer life.

      Hi Chris, I agree it's not a great how-to video. My videos are more aimed to sharing the projects that I do in my spare time for entertainment purposes. Also for some repair jobs people just need to see the process of how something is done to get them rolling in the right direction and figure out the small details as they go.

      @chrisolivet9084 all good, I appreciate any feedback. This is actually a friend's bike that I was helping out with and it is probably the worst bike I have ever worked on. I wish I could have been more help in the video but for the most part I was trying to figure it out myself. Putting the plastic parts back took the most time and in the end I still wasn't satisfied with how it went together but unfortunately honda designed it to fit with minimal bolts.
