Owner's Manual recc. oil is 10w-30 I used Mobile 1 full synthetic oil(4-5qts). Depends on if you're chainging the oil filter or not.
Oil Filter is K&N KN-204 Honda.
Chain degreaser(DuPont Motorcycle Degreaser) and chain lube(DuPont Teflon Chain Saver) from Walmart.
12mm socket for the drain bolt, 17mm for the K&N Oil filter.
5mm allen wrench.
Terry cloth Towel.
NO you do not use grease on the filter. You should apply a little engine oil on the filter and gasket.
This is one of those body styles that will never age. Never look old.
Yep, I have a 2008 (black & yellow) and people have told me it looks new
Absolutely
I have 68,000 miles on my 08 CBR1000rr.
44000 miles on my 08 runs a dream
@@anthonymillard30 Hey man, i bought a 2011 model, second hand with 58,000 km on the clock, it's in a great condition, do you think it has lots of kms/miles on it??
@@mutazhijazi8512 yes I do...
One question, anybody. I am considering buying this model 2010, but people warn me about VIBRATIONS from the engine, saying that they are much more disturbing than in her little Sister CBR 600.....is it true?
73,000 now, running strong
You still own this bike? If so I bet you’ve worn those plastic tabs on the fairings quite a bit. Definitely something you want to take your time with. Great bikes! Owned mine 4years now! Also would never put water intentionally on chain use cleaner wipe off, wax, then lube 👍🏼
Word to the wise, do not use K&N filters. They changed manufacturers a few years back and there has been a disastrous decrease in quality. Many tracks and track day organizations have banned the use of K&N filters at their facilities/events because of this problem. The "bolt" cap is a weak point and may fail when oil pressure rises as the engine climbs in RPMs. I have seen two filters catastrophically fail in the last two years first-hand. OEM filters or HiFlo seem to be the best options.
wow man never knew about that
thank you for sharing this with us
I currently have a s1000rr just got it a week ago
actually sold the cbr1000rr for how much oil it has burnt i heard that the 08 year had that problem with them but oh well it was nice having it
im thinking of doing a review on the s1krr pretty soon with the mods that are on it, what do you think?
Go for it. I just picked up an '08 CBR1k for track and very limited street a few weeks ago. It certainly does burn oil, I've put in 1.5 quarts over the last 1,000 miles, but longer trips are why I have my Street Triple (and eventually FZ-10) so burning a little oil over 140-160 miles each track day isn't a big issue for me.
they're pretty nice bikes man, except for the burning oil part, fast and nice handing and seating.
pretty you'll have fun on it man. i hope you enjoy it!
I use Fram Ultra 6607, 7317 which fit on my last Honda bike wouldn't clear the header on this model.
good video, i use Rotella T6 and a Fram Ultra 6607 oil filter. i use an even 3.5 quarts.
I would have dropped the bottom cowl off onto an old blanket or piece of cardboard, not the cement floor.
Hey, I heard you got the wining noise when you start the bike, what is it? Why it is doing that? And is your bike burning oil? Mine does the same wining and i read online they say it’s the crank issue, do you have any idea what that is?
Mine sounds the same!
jummy,what a beauty !
It takes 3.2 quarts and you can just use motor oil to lube oil filter gasket and you use car oil this is a high rpm engine how does it work also bc wet clutch
Spraying chain lube is on the outside is a waste or lube. When you turn on the bike the lube all shoots of. Should spray it where you footpeg is on the inside your chain so when it spins it goes on sprockets also
Thank you for your help, best regarst from Poland😀
Rafał Wolniewicz thanks for clicking on the video!!
Hi, Great looking Bike... Good luck... Hey I'm thinking about getting the Same year... Any Major Problems with yours...
Be carefull using those k&n oil filters. I had one fail at the track an about ruined my motor. The filter bypassed the element and kept flow from being achieved. I knoticed a big change in valve train noise and apon removal of the filter realized that it was retaining pressure. As soon as the filter started to loosen oil from the filter ejected all over the side of the engine case. The oil inside was very dark and sooted. Only 200 miles on the oil and filter. High flow or oem is the best filters to go with from what ive researched
Wow man glad you got it figured out
I actually sold the bike after two months of ownership. Learned not to buy a bike on the first year of production...
Hey is that a stock Color from Honda... Orange and Black nice..
have you done any valve adjustments ??
What about spark plugs?
Thats a beautiful bike holy f
You should ALWAYS line the filter edge with oil before you screw it back on to make the seal
Get a gold chain on that bad boy
One question >>>>i am intrrsted in buying a 2010 model...but I have heard about the VIBRATIONS from the engine, that they are strong and much more disturbing than in her little Sister CBR rr 600 , yhe bike i own now. Is it true?
Thanks
If the oil filter is not changed, how many liters of oil will be added?
You can just use the oil to lube the oil filter seal hahaha!
Year ago but yea i said same thing lol
Hay bro.. Have you ever suffered from this bik that burning oil.. As manufacture defect?? Please answer??
ali omar I didn’t personally experience it but I’ve had some friends tell me about that especially for the 08 year.
I had the bike for about 4 months and it was pretty good.
THEBOY 06 did u bought it used or brand new bro? Im about to buy one 08 and i don't know what to do?
ali omar I bought it used but it was in really good condition.
If I were you I would get a different year just to be safe. I have heard a lot of people saying they were having problem with that year like I said. But personally I didn’t experience anything wrong.
But buy a different year just to be safe, though.
THEBOY 06 thanks soo soo much i appreciate ur advice♥️
ali omar no problem man 👍🏼
Is that car oil ?
Bakers beard Baker nope, it's for motorcycles
To much oil
bruv, if you ride this bike you know it burns around 2 liters in 1 year. that's way too much so if you wanna extend it a little, put a little bit too much oil
@@Memes-XD or just change your oil as youre supposed too lol. to much oil is not good
@@802Goons you don't need to change it too often because it burns out🤣🤣
Memes XD maybe your bike is fucked bud mine doesn’t lol
Ein Video um zu sehen wie man es nicht machen sollte…🙈😂
I cant undestand the stick measure oil I heat them. Thanks
How much you refill on , aprox in liter , with filter oil change of course.Thank you.
You paint the chain in red ? How installed or removed?
no paint, you can find them on ebay, pretty cheap but so is the quality...
Yea I definitely wouldn’t be running a cheap quality painted chain on a 1,000.
