"He's so immature"
and yet the blame is on Sam lol
While I agree with your commentary, I do see what's behind Joe's mind. Most dads, if not all, worry too much about what will happen to their children if they're gone. It's a typical father's love. Is it wrong? Yes and no. Yes, because they tend to put their children in the highest standard, highest standards are achieved with trials and errors, and they don't want to see errors from the beginning. No, because it comes from their love for their children. They live in a time where they have to keep fighting relentlessly so they can put food on the table. That era numbed people's feelings. They don't know how to express themselves better.

Joe seems like he was groomed to be an emotionally abusive father by an emotionally abusive father. Sam amazes me. His hope, humility, ability to show vulnerability all intact. May he break the cycle of abuse.
Nah. He grew up in tough times. I like pansy times today. He grew up to be a winner and a king. A hard worker
Emotionally abusive ? Are you serious ? Lol snowflake generation. I find it disrespectful you even labelled him that.. no respect for our elders nowadays, not everyone grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. That man worked day and night to provide for his family and give his son a better upbringing than he had and you can clearly see that in his son. His father at his age was still putting in more work than his son was, why ? Because he never exposed him to all the hardships he went through as a young man only to be called an "abusive father" by some absolute tit on CZcams. Go experience the real world maybe ... You disrespectful, privileged nobody.
@@ILKILO1 do you even know what emotional abuse is ? Perhaps you should do some research. Also the SECOND you use the term "snowflake" your opinion is void.

@@life.with.too.many.animals9411 this is why you don't spoil your children, guys. 25 hour work weeks at 28 years old when his dad was slaving away at the business with bad health of which he solely bought to provide for his son and his future kids. Give a man a restaurant nowadays and all he wants is a hug. Have you always been this pathetic ? He doesn't tell the man good job because he expects a good job. If he didn't do a good job as a young man he would have been out of work, not been able to eat that night or not be able to pay for a place to sleep that week because he would have lost his job, unlike his son. Who still doesn't live with any of the financial burden of the restaurant that his 80 year old, unhealthy father does, which he was about to inherit off his dad's decades long of hard work.
I actually did some research on this. They rebranded the whole thing and Sam now owns a huge place called "Verona Inspired Italian"

This. If a restaurant is completely, irredeemably horrible, then yeah complaints will be made. I’ve seen so many spelling mistakes whilst perusing the internet that I genuinely thought you had spelled ‘too’ wrong. (You didn’t by the way!)

Sympathy, Sympathy, sympathy, that's all Joe wanted. Kathy was so sweet and warm hearted.
Incredible how son after all that criticism from dad still love him a lot . I am impressive how Gordon pick it up that so clearly. 👏
I felt bad for Sam 😔
He is such a gem.
Okay, can we talk about how patient Sam is. The envt. is hella toxic yet he has maintained his cool and never retaliated once.
I love how Gordon acknowledges that Joe speaks to and treats sam like dirt. Sam is truly trying and Joe wants to do it himself but can’t so he takes his frustration out on his son.
