"Alex - my boy - the older one, and Celine.. the sister."
That sentence says so much more than he thought it did.
Wow. Didnt realize that he said that til u mentioned it..
the one when she’s talking about how she doesnt hate her brother and the dad goes “well he hates you” definitely showed more of that awful side of the family. I dont have any siblings but i know damn well i wouldnt be able to see or have that level of disrespect towards my baby sis..
I caught that immediately, too.
Yep. Brother was raised to be entitled. Sister was raised to work and be quiet. We observe the results. But I'm glad Alex turned around a bit and Celine didn't just burn the place down.
You interpret too much into that sentence. Its really a normal sentence many people introduce their kids like this.

At this point, Gordon should be a licensed family therapist
Its so forced into the show, if you ask me.
He has a team who handle/organise that side of things, they even try to find problems like this before the restaurants are even contenders to be on the show...

@PositivyT I absolutely despise reality tv, but Gordon does it genuinely and with a passion for his craft. Very different from reality tv I think
this show sometimes shows something that I've been a big advocate of: so many issues in today's life would be solved with therapy. sometimes you just need a 3rd person who is objective or has a fresh outlook and can kinda tear down the walls, calm the waves, make you face your problems head on. because let's face it, often we don't have the ability to face a problem head on. our brain makes us cut corners, or avoid finding solutions by not fixating on the problem, by dodging it. with therapy, and it doesn't need ot be deep "dive into your brain and figure out your innermost insecurities" therapy. just normal, easy going therapy. talking to a person who knows their shit, who knows when to add comments and when to let you talk and when to ask questions. it can help so many people in so many different situations in life, but it's stigmatized. "oh he's seeing a shrink he must be wrong in the head" "look at her she's going to therapy something must be wrong with her" "look at them seeking couple counseling, their relationship must be in the bin". fuck stigmatizing therapy. therapy should be a normalized thing. it should be as normal as going to the doctor's when you have a cold and can't come in to work! (I know it's different for you Americans, since you can't go to the doctor for a cold because you'll be bankrupt, but that's a whole other topic)
I mean, if Chef Ramsey is coming to my failing restaurant to turn things around, it's "yes sir, thank you sir. Let us know what you want us to do and we'll do it".
I would as well, I'm so amazed in these videos people ask for his help then deny their faults wondering why no one shows up then change their attitude when Gordon packs the entire restaurant
That is why your restaurant would probably not fail
@@rodrickmaclean9660well. Some people have huge egos.
And what a boring episode that would be. I have no doubt that sometimes thats exactly the attitude Ramsey gets. A whole team willing to listen to his advice. And then some people are asked to play the ''antagonist'' role to make the episode more entertaining. Shows like this are not 100% fake, but they arent reality either. They are somewhere in between.

I really felt for Celine in this episode. I've been in a similar situation leading a team, and partner and best friend began to resent me for not sharing all of his views and going along with whatever he said, despite us both having the same experience and skill-level. We couldn't even be in a room together and were never able to reconcile our friendship, and we both ending up leaving around the same time. I'm glad Celine and Alex were able to work on their communication and relationship, despite how difficult and emotional it was. And to anyone who reads this and can relate at all, I wish you all the best and I hope you know that I'm rooting for you and I genuinely hope your situation improves.
Gordon bringing this family back together is truly incredible. Much respect for this man and his tough love.
What makes me feel uneasy is how Martin still has not gotten fired after how many times Gordon tried to suggest them? He was the number 1 reason for the failure of the restaurant in my opinion.
Later, in the revisit episode, Gordon revisit this restaurant again and Martin is not there anymore. Instead, Chuy, the chef that Gordon brought in to help becomes the Executive Chef of the restaurant and their father is helping on the kitchen again. Probably Martin got fired off screen or quit for good.

Bruh Celine is literally the most calm, kind and put together person on this show like wtf. If i was ignored when i know full well i was the only one that knew how to fix the problems id get so angry. Especially if it was because i was a girl. And if i started crying from family issues someone tells me to "stop crying" like WHAT KIND OF WORK ENVIRONMENT IS THIS, HELL???
The problem is the father actually. Maybe many people don’t notice it but he has such misogynistic attitudes and big egos. Subtle but red flags are all there. The fact that this father allows such shi*ty attitude Martin to still be an employee is beyond ridiculous. If I were the owner I would get rid of him in seconds to behave like that to anyone, especially my family members. Also the father is not very smart, like unintelligent. Who would go to a hockey game when your restaurant is about to be closed and this wonderful opportunity is handed to you? I have to have no brain to do something like that. And the fact that mother didn’t have a say in all this says it all. Some restaurants are not meant to survive really.
I agree. It's like they don't want her to be there. The head chef is totally disgusting. He's slowing the service just because he doesn't wanna respond to Celine? Mysogyny or not, she's your boss! Also, the manager told her to stop crying while she's having a mental breakdown is totally ridicullous. It's taking a long time for them to calm down, I know how it feels like. Also, the fact Gordon Ramsay can manage the rivalry between those 2 siblings than the father did really shows that he is the worse father ever! Why didn't they just have a family meeting and talk to each other? Isn't that hard? And he's going to watch Hockey instead of helping the restaurant and the siblings rivalry is a joke!
She deserves a better family, frankly. She says she loves her brother, meanwhile he hates her and treats her like shit just so he can force her out the business and keep it all for himself. And the parents either say nothing or put the blame on her.
She is calm cause she wants to also run the restaurant. Brother is pissed off cause he feels like she will take away the work he did after he got the restaurant, therefore he is resigned and angry. these are preservation signs. the father is angry at her cause, "if you want to be the one running the business. then do it and have no excuses". 2 people can not run a restaurant in harmony, this is why you have silent partners...

@@dhotnessmcawesome9747 ooo yessss
you know you eat while watching this to comfort the entertainment ♥️
I know right
Friday nights are LIT
Can tell the brother has no clue of wtf is going on, his sister is MEANT to be there running it with him. Golden-child syndrome at it's best 🤦
Brother just chilling
Seems like the brother wanted the restaurant to close.
GR, "Has this been microwaved?"
Little shit, "No, it was in the oven."
Gordon looks at the camera guy, who shakes his head side to side.
LS, "Ok, I microwaved it at first, then put it in the oven."
Gordon looks again and gets the same head shake.
LS, "Damn bro, why you gotta do me like that? I thought we was friends."
If my employee disrespects me the way Martin disrespects Celine, he is OUT faster than when Gordon says "RAW!".
I don't know how to get it but I'm dying to get that dab chicken baby emoji of yours
@@kvn120 maybe you need yt upgrade now.
Yeah that was the most confusing and puzzling part in this entire video. Why they keep incapable and disrespectful employee like that? Not to mention he was a bully to Celine. And they did that for years and years. I hope he’s gone by now.
Same my kitchen I work at wouldn't stand for that sought of behaviour
first you should deserve that respect
To those who are interested: La Frite aired on May 20 2011, the episode was filmed in January 2011 and Yelp reviews following the filming of the episode were mixed, the Sunday brunch seems to have the most negative reviews. Trip Advisor reviews were most positive with fewer negative reviews.
In July 2016 the restaurant was bought by George Zaoui who kept the restaurant as La Frite for a year.
La Frite closed in September 2017 when the owner changed the restaurant to an Italian eatery Modo Mio.
With every episode I always look forward to have these restaurants to continue for years and years, it always saddens me when even Gordon can’t help and they don’t continue running😢
Now it’s abandoned
so much for passing it to his kids for 30 more years
Add a comet.
There is only one people that a want to fail and closed this would be the place people are dumb
This was by far my favorite episode and it made me smile a lot because it was so much fun and the ending was just perfect
Martin handed that microwaved quiche and slid his sleeves up like he was about to do battle
no one wants to “deal” with Celine bc she’s the only one that sees the problem while everyone just wanna stay in the 90s and not improve
The dad: it's so difficult for me because i have to be the buffer
The daughter: i don't hate him
Also the dad: wEll hE HaTEs YOUu
I know wtf
Father is the part of the problem.
7:18 i love when he pauses, smacks the fridge, and then continues on like nothing happened its so funny to me for no reason
The power of words and learning to hear what the other person has to say. It actually doesn’t take much if you both really want the same things.
How every episode goes
*lil backstory*
One random Chef: he will love the food
Gordon:raw and feels frozen
Head chef: he doesn’t know food
Fresh frozen out of the can
Bland
Not always but yeah most of the time
@@strz3086 Every time he says that the food is bland I think the cook(s) just didn't add enough spices. I use a lot when I cook, my first dishes were too spicy, even for me. Or perhaps he means something else. Either way, what Gordon gets is crap.
Don't forget, it isn't US Kitchen Nightmares without the Family Snivel.
" if its time for me to go i go"
"That was easy"
ROLE CREDITS
“Sometimes if he gets a little backed up I’ve seen him do it”
*camera pans around to his vacant ghost town of a restaurant🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This restaurant did survive for five years with these owners after this episode. In Kitchen Nightmare terms, that's an epic win. I call it a miracle.
They were open for like 40 years
@@m.t.1616 he's mainly talking about the relaunch, as this restaurant was going into debt, so the fact it survived 1/2 years after it's change, let alone 5, is a rare thing to see on this show, as many close down due to debt issues or returning to old ways.
Also, in the revisit episode, Martin isn't working at there anymore and the father goes back to the kitchen to cook again and the siblings are working together again as a team and Chuy, the chef that Gordon brought in became their Executive Chef. It seems like they either fire Martin for good or Martin quits because Chuy does a better job than him and he feels overwhelmed and no one mentioning Martin's name in revisit episode like the guy is forgotten
@@margarethmichelina5146thank goodness that's what i was looking for.
@@margarethmichelina5146Thank you for the great update!
The son wants the restaurant all to himself. That’s it.
Yep, greedy spoiled child.
Yea childish and selfish
If he does, it’s going down, his business is gunna plummet without his sister. Clearly the brother and head chef don’t want change👎
All to himself. The customers can stay out of it to.
Wants it to himself.
And he was completely being in denial and oblivious to realize the problem of the restaurant.
The word “I love you” is a strong powerful word of so many emotions..who else cried?
Bro doesn't want to spilt profits with the sister $$$
Father: My son and my daughter aren't close anymore! It breaks my heart to see this rift between them!
Also father: *Does fuck all to help his children repair their relationship and lets his daughter be treated like crap*
😂😂😂 the eff all thing made me laugh....sorry....😂😂😂
"HE hates you."
They're grown adults, in other words, no longer kids. He is respecting them by allowing them to choose how to handle their relationship themselves. As he should... they're...adults...
@@ubiquitouscyclone4496I disagree I feel like it all starts at home n if they were fighting behind dads back is like okay that’s between you both but now it’s in front of him and if he doesn’t say anything he’s also contributing.
@@Michelle58546I gotta agree, the moment it started interfering and hurting the business and all three of their lively hoods it stopped being between just the two of them.
Celine is honestly such a queen for always being honest and true to herself, she’s the only one that cares for that restaurant and it’s so sad that no one realizes that
I love Chef Ramsay.. He is brutally honest but means it for your good❤
Gordon is a good guy. Some people think he's all bark bark bark, "this is raw", etc. But no, he's a pretty good guy. And a damn good chef.
Good chef know good foods. And Gordon is the god we have now that knows how to cook.
Except most of what he does is an affectation. Customers eat food normally, Ramsey fakes vomiting and spits out food...
@@kidShibuya have you watched some of the episodes? There are a lot of very unhappy customers, there is a reason why these restaurants are failing and end up closing anyway
@@waynelee8327 he literally gets good poisoning every other episode lol
@@kidShibuya he got food poisoning quite a few times from the show. That's why he stopped doing the show.
Please someone tell me that everything is still good for them... Celine is a freaking gem. Her strength, passion and kindness are just astonishing. This woman is treasure and I can't believe they are blind to it.

17:23 "Alex...he's so laid back, he's almost comatose" lmfao
This show is literally a rollercoaster of emotions
boy, i wish you could see czech kitchen nightmares and my fav episodes
1) Owners dont pay their kitchen staff, they give chef items to sell instead and then call police on him so he ends up in detention cell
2) Owner scammed her ex boyfriend, cheated on him and episode ends half way through when her ex brings some mafia guys and they chase away the TV crew and the owners
3) Owners dont pay their kitchen staff and one of the ex-employees comes straight into shot and threatens to beat them up
those are rollercoasters of emotions, mostly "WTF" emotions
See above ;-);-)

@@Jm-uh7wg how’s it staged when restaurants are actually real places with real reviews mate ? The owners have actually replied to reviews it’s obviously not staged

They had a good run. Extra 6 years is nothing to be ashamed off
What happen to martin
@@MisterDraken7609 I hope he got fired because what I found is Chuy becomes the Executive Chef of that place.
Quite honestly that’s a pretty long lifespan considering after these episodes air it’s only a matter of months or weeks b4 the restaurant closes again
they dindt change it per se, they hired the new guy, and sold the restaurant after 5 more years.
