- It's been near a decade since I was last in Spain sport climbing, but after many years dedication to Trad Climbing, Big Wall and Alpine rock, I am psyched again for clipping bolts! Sport Climbing gets you fit unlike any other discipline in climbing - you just can't get that same balance of finger strength, power and forearm endurance when Trad Climbing, and I realised that if I want to climb some of my big trad projects back home in Scotland, I'd need to be capable of climbing 9a in sport!
This film follows me and my friends as we learn to climb hard sport climbs in Spain, in the process getting a few hard sport projects and building fitness for the epic trad climbs that await elsewhere.

Yeah this was in the spring. Frustratingly I lost a lot of my winter footage when my hard drive melted 😢 so not quite enough I think for another film, but I’ll shoot next winter on estado and show the progress on that

Did you remove the kneepad while resting at 13:59?
yeah I did, chucked it off in the big rest before the final crux. I prefer not to climb with Kneepads if I can avoid it and by that point it wasn't necessary anymore
what happend to the kneepad after the rest on the send go?
I chucked it off haha didn’t want it to affect me on the final moves
I always throw it off as soon as I know I won't need it anymore.
@@masterpropper2485same! I don’t really like climbing in them… usually if I can avoid I don’t bother, but the kneescum move mid crux was really helpful. Gave me that little shake that was just what I needed 💪
