The Washington Justice: Failing with Style (SiR)

- The Washington Justice started off bad, and then somehow got worse, and then got good, but only when it didn’t matter. How was going 2-19 in the first three stages accomplished? Let’s get into it.

It's ok for Xepher. He'll cash in his scrim bucks in season 3. He was just tanking these last two seasons, biding his time.
Jonah Kim is he even on a team I actually forgot
Thank you for recognizing Stratus!! He massively turned around the spirit of the team and it is just glorious. Not only is he a really good player that is willing to learn and grow, he also gave the Justice an identity they desperately needed. He did the most important things that many new teams didn't succeed in: making the people give a shit about a team.
This right here!!! I LOVE the guy, and was so happy when Dividing pointed him out!
Yeah, it's a shame it didn't happen before stage 4, i hope they didn't lose this playful spirit for the next season, we are gonna know the answer in a couple weeks
Kimiko ouch
i genuinly died when he had a TANKBOWLLLLL
"I'm not gonna rip off utree that hard" I love you man keep up the work
You also have to recognize that until stratus got stage time the team was speaking Korean for callouts and weren’t relaying any coms to either Corey or Sleepy. As soon as stratus took the stage for the team, everybody started using English coms and you could tell how much more in sync the team was as a whole. It was just a big learning curve for the team as a whole and I think they can be way better next season depending on the tank play imo
*Suggestion for this series:* make the Vancouver Titans episode the finale for the S2 SiR series. It honestly makes perfect since considering their story coming into the league, as well as the fact that they were the Season runner-up to the Shock.
Awesome video as always though. Keep up the great work Dividing!
EDIT: Also @9:38 #DatsACallback
Corey is just so good. He can carry this team next season.
Valorant: Hey there
this didn't age well
@@dinosaurcola neither did team USA's winning roster
...
So about that
There’s no reason to tank
Shock: wait that’s illegal
The crowd shouting COORREY COORREY was awesome tbh
As someone who lives very close to DC, i was disappointed that they had performed so poorly but I can't say I didn't expect it
Lol yeah our teams are BAD
@@nustalgiaaa3051 at least you guys have the nationals.
We have the caps and the kastles...
These videos have made the off-season much more bearable. Keep up the great work!
Your SiR videos are amazing can’t wait for the next one
Would have loved to see fahzix on the ROLE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO PLAY
I like to think being eliminated loosened a lot of pressure so they were more comfortable knowing there weren't any stakes and played better as a result.
Great video! Always looking forward to watching your sir videos!
Im going to bet my left testicle he's going to start the next SIR with "something something they only signed Danteh for the off-season blah blah something"
Mayhem vs Justice: The Owl's Dolphins vs Bengals
Brenlen Dorow *soccer flavored confusion*
I've been waiting for this ✨🎉
I was waiting all season for SIR. Awesome job!
I think the OWL could do with a draft.
1. Makes Contenders have another reason to show off and pop off and win
2. Get fans more interested in Contenders so they can see who will be joining next year
3. Could increase roster sizes to 15-18 (not unheard of or anything I mean NBA is 5v5 but they have 12 man rosters so for a 6v6 game 15-18 players seems reasonable)
4. A roster size increase can give teams more room for depth
5. This would make home and way squads even more realistic
Just some quick thoughts as to the pros of it and off the top of my head the only Con I can think of is salary related
Ik it's old but how will any team even pay that many players lol. Owl doesn't has NBL level money
@@senior.toucan6370 well currently with everything being done online, they save money from not needing a venue so disperse that money amongst the teams, also drafted rookies could get signed to a smaller "minimum contract" and if they impress the team and move to the main roster you can re-sign them to a larger contract as you move on from some other players.
Then you could also have times where like London last year that signed a bunch of rookies could have a lot of spare cap room and offer a larger contract to a vet like Fleta for example. The salary cap could also benefit the league balance as I mean the past 2 Shock Rosters A and B team were better than some other teams in the league. With a Salary cap maybe they have to choose between keeping like Super or Vilo2t allowing other teams to make them offers and help balance the teams
As another commenter said, I am so happy you mentioned Stratus. I adore the guy's personality and gameplay ability. He really truly gave the team a morale boost when they needed it most.
Corey is just NA’s Ado.
Stuck on a lackluster team, but dies trying to carry his team and does.
Fitting that they got stuck on the same team right?
Corey is a hundred million times better than Ado stfu lmao
Bro, I just found this youtuber and I love his content!!
Man why don't you have more subscribers, you make the best overwatch content next to the likes of jayne and Alshon esports imo. Keep going dude, always love to see your content in my upload feed!
I literally cannot describe to you have accurate this description of a season is in relation to literally ANY DC professional sports team. Trash on paper, trash for the first half the season, then lightning strikes and suddenly they're good again.
Thank you for the tank bowl reference. love me some good urinatingtree
Ah yes, my favorite series is back!
I was watching your video and at around 30 seconds i put my phone on my bed and closed the door shut off the lights and heard the sound...it is so scary but I laughed my ass off. xD
In stage 4 they were really fun to watch, I think corey is a great hitscan, can't wait to see what dumb stuff him and stratus do in s3
You forgot to mention in stage 4 sleepy was benched and gido back starting
That actually ended up happening at the end of the Stage 3, believe it or not. It occurred at the Atlanta Homestand in week 5
@@Lotus_RT Yeah i thought so that it was before stage 4 but i wasn't 100% sure
I think gido looked more synergised with ark and thats why, I think sleepy is the better player but those two player better together
@@HighDef_Gaming there are also rumours that sleepy is toxic or a Bad teammate
@@zirbto5749 Dude Sleepy is legit the most positive guy ever, don't know where you heard that.
Gotta rewatch all these before the new season😳
Please keep making these
Funny enough the exact same thing happened in season 3.
So excited for PlatChat to talk about the Justice
Imagine what Justice running some dps comp in goats with corey and stratus would look like..
As a justice fan, it’s been hard but next season is gonna be better because wot can’t really get any worse.
You guys are on an upwards trend so it looks good.
It could always be worst
Oh no no no
Stratus da best memes
Hey dividing I got the guess on how many maps right, only because that’s exactly what you did last time and the answer was the same too. Glad to see the continuity
Washington was set up poorly and I can agree. However, with their uproar in Stage 4, sure it might have been too late, but this comes to show that the entire 2-2-2 role queue system allows DPS players to shine again, in this case being Corey and the others. Therefore, this can lead to a very bright future for the team coming next season. If they flop again, it's due to their individual skills.
Which teams will be in this year’s tank bowl
I think Valiant vs London or Boston
I smell a redemption arc 2020
Stratus is perfect
I love this team, Washington Justice is my favorite team

Urinating tree is proud
Urinatingtree reference i see... classy
Remember what you said about the Shock in Last Season's SIR brother.... Justice may be Shock Part 2
I hope they pop of next year. Cause I REALLY wanna root for my hometown team
So those who don’t know the Justice as well as Atlanta didn’t scrim their tryouts or well very little of it on goats which is why once you saw 2-2-2 come it, they got a lot better
I feel bad for the teams the Justice bumped down. They were probably feeling pretty secure in their spots...
janus got 40/60 playtime around mano. he played in the overall playoffs, there was never a time where janus was benched. there was a time in 2018 where if you went onto reddit and said "mano is obviously better than janus" you would get downvoted to hell and made fun of, people only started to believe mano was obviously better around stage 4, but janus still played a lot. also, people didnt believe janus would thrive, people believed janus was the most important free agent and there was huge coverage and speculation on where he'd go. justice had huge hype for getting him, the community was more than confident in janus, im not sure why people choose to omit janus's history in owl and act like nyxl hardcore leaned into mano, even though they did use mano a lot more near the end, it was almost 50/50 near the beginning, and janus never rode the bench at all for them. just because he didnt do well for justice doesnt mean we as a community should pretend he didnt play a huge part in NYXL's season 1 success, wether or not they wouldve done better only using mano is a different debate, but janus was there and did play tons.
hyeonu did not come from WGS, he was a backup player from MetaBellum
Gods is the best OWL meme lord
TANK BOWL!!!!!
And now there are back in Stage 1,2,3.....
2:14 jaynes bio is even funnier
Justice are lucky there is no draft, or we’d all have laughed our asses off at their failure to tank in stage four lol
still dreading boston's SiR
oh they made the playoffs alright...
I actually guess how many maps they won in stage 3 correctly
How about calling it Derp Bowl? The glorious premier of the two dumbest teams in the art of GOATS, long have we waited to see who has the gall to flaunt their derp in front of the Blizzard Arena and claim greatness. It was a battle full of carefully crafted stupidity and madness, such greatness!
This team set up for a future without goats.... youre kidding right? The players know what is going to change before any of us (players, staff, everybody)
You have a phone call from UTree on the other line, should I hold him...?
OKay so Corey wasn't just a not good zarya he was the worst zarya in the league by a long shot. His hitscan however is one of the best if not the best in the league though.
Name Houston the Houston OutLULs.
outro song ?
09:38 I got that reference
Whats the reference?
4:15 remember mykl?
So glad I grew up with this:
Mykl
But damn this is better:
ATP
❤️Idc justice is my team 💔 I think theyre winners to me. Sleepy is my favourite and Coreys and Stratus are amazing too ❤️
Brother you fucking killed them Jesus. They have families
Washington Justice was a team that was not only poorly constructed... But also lacked what made goats teams great. D- is a worthy grade for a team like this.
Ahh the trashlaws overall a failure of a team that made a turnaround in stage 3 only to falter further and end up in a bad state in stage 4. Overall the management and coaching *killed* this team and despite the improvement they didn't show that they could be a good team except in one instance. Overall I give them a D+ or C- from average to under average... Wow
Houston's thumbnail should just be Ant Man saying What The Hell Happened Here?
OPSMastr _ that should be for reviewing their new team
Considering that they were mostly a full western team up until now
With the additions of Meko, Rapel, and Jesce
Justice might do better if they went the Chengdu route. RUI is a genius
Honestly, had Wizardhyeond kept GOATs in his mind, I bet the Washington Justice could have been a contender.
can't wait for the Atlanta reign SiR, also Dogman>>>>>>Stratus. JK il both of em
Gido's trans uses were the only thing that made me like actually shout "Wtf are you doing?" watching a game. Sucks because most of their team actually started to do better on different heroes in stage 4. Guess you can't suck most of the year and expect another chance though.
5:42 „....a really good ranked game“
Ur gold bro
WAS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING URINATING TREE REFERENCE
The reason why Justice fans like to point to the “they weren’t built for GOATS” argument is because that’s what Avalla suggested on a Korean forum around the time of stage 4. She told people that they were better adjusted for a 2-2-2 meta and expected GOATS to die off sooner than expected. The post gathered a huge amount of attention and debate. The consensus: makes sense, but that’s a result of poor management
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still not a stellar argument, but there’s at least a little merit to it if Avalla is to be believed.
Im seeing a pattern here. Shock S1 was trash for stage 1 + 2, mediocre in 3, and amazing in 4. S2 they win. Justice was trash for 1-3, amazing in 4. S3 they win?
As much as you dislike the Outlaws, hope you at least make clear how bent over a barrel financially they were for most of the season.
How can you say sd and wj are the same? Yeah first season wasnt good but cmon you can't compare
I think 2:11 was a pun. (I know no one asked)
I get that you are reviewing the past season but man does this sound bleak for one of the most exciting team of the third season...
Justice were probably thinking, like most things that GOATS would only last a couple more months at the most, they werent just ignoring the meta
Nate Aistrup Yea sorry but that’s a fucking stupid way to view Overwatch’s metas
Agreed...you're an idiot if you build your team around "Oh, they'll drop an earthquake on things." I'll maintain until the end that the Justice just lucked out by getting 2-2-2.
Nate Aistrup You know what’s funny? That’s exactly what Avalla admitted on a Korean forum around the time of stage 4. They were more equipped to deal with a 2-2-2 meta. It received massive attention on Reddit.
I heard that when they were trialling players, they tried them in a bunch of comps...EXCEPT for GOATS. It was literally the one thing they had NOT prepared for at all.
WavemasterAshi so ridiculously stupid especially since everyone was scrimming goats during the off season
Don't be too harsh on my outlaw boys! I know you hate them, but try to be kind; this might be their year :)
Shut up dividing I guessed 2 maps
Hey
Hey
Dividing - Competitive Overwatch I haven’t watched your vids for a while but I remember some of the first ones and believing that you could become big. Good job on the videos!
