  • @natesilvers2166
    @natesilvers2166 Před 2 lety +2

    Interesting VS the Megahome distiller. The Megahome seems a little better machine as the heating element is under the tank so it's easy to clean, the lid doesn't calcify and it is just a simpler machine. I tested my tap water straight from the tap and it was 425ppm (East Yorkshire, UK)

    • @rawintuition
      @rawintuition  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah Megahome is another good less expensive option. Though, when compared to the Pure Water Mini Classic CT - I would personally go with the Mini Classic if someone is planning on using distilled water on a regular basis and goes through a decent amount of water each day. The Mini Classic produces water much faster, has a better warranty, it’s made in the USA, etc. The cleaning aspect really isn’t an issue for me. It’s not difficult to clean. But both are definitely good options to consider 👍

      @@rawintuition I drink exclusively distilled water and cook with it. The CT only produced 3 liters it takes 3.5 hours whilst the Megahome does 4 litres in 4.5 hours. I like running the megahome overnight so I wake up to 4 liters of pure water, that's an extra liter more than I'd get with the CT and 4 liters is just enough so 3 would not be enough. The Warrany I don't care about as its a very simple machine with simple electrics. The only real thing that might break it the switch but a new one is only £14 and it's easy to install. I think the jar is better too as it has a handle and can be poured easily. I like the look of the CT looks industrial

My parents have this same distiller and they clean there's every several months and they are good. So it just depends on how shitty the city water is for how often you would need to clean it.

    Had ours for 2 years. As soon as it fell out of warranty, it started leaking at the controller (plug on the back of the chamber).
    Terrible customer service and do NOT seek good quality.
    As soon as we got our distiller the glass jar was chipped, in the middle of it not the lip, and they just said "if it cracks let us know"
    Currently - Turns out the leak was the rubber gasket, which is fine, rubber doesn't last forever. However, we ordered an entire replacement kit and once we put it back together no water, it wasn't heating up. Turns out they sent us a bad controller.

    • @rawintuition

      I hear you but It’s not absolutely necessary to use the post filter. It’s to catch any potential VOCs that could potentially slip through since VOCs have low boiling points so they turn to gas/vapor rather than staying in the boiling tank. There are vents that allow them to escape but there could be a possibility that some could make it through, which is why some people choose to use the post filter. Some people think it makes the water taste better too but i don’t notice much of a difference when I’ve tested it without using the post filter and i still got a “zero” TDS reading.

      There is nothing “healthy” about drinking (distilled) water devoid of any properties. The body needs electrolyte, that being water with minerals. Drinking water with TDS readings of zero are not beneficial to the body.
      Test the ph before and after distilling, you will discover your distilled water is more acidic than the tap water you started with.
      Drinking acidic water devoid of minerals would seek equilibrium in the body, electrolysis would take place and the body would be robbed instead of fed.

      Unfortunately the kidneys are not the first stop the chemicals make once they've entered the body. Many of the chemicals that find their way into the body, get deposited throughout the tissues of the body before the kidneys have a chance to excrete them. Chronic kidney disease is at epidemic levels and the chemicals we are being exposed to in our food and water are one of the reasons why. And even before the water enters the body the GI tract and gut microbiome are being exposed and damaged.
