    There are a lot of action/arcade type of games in this list... I like playing those from time to time, but I tend to get easily bored with those. And a lot of awesome games in your list were released after I stopped using my C64 and moved to the Amiga 500 around 1988.
    Bard'sTale was OK, but I actually finished both Ultima 3 and 4. They are much better in my opinion, and at least one of them should be in the C64 top 25. I really enjoyed playing Below the Root. It was not very popular, but the story and game play were magical to me as a teen. My friend and I also loved Colonial Conquest... a great Risk style game. I was happy to see some of my all-time favorites make your list: Archon, Mr Do, Boulder Dash, Space Taxi, Little Computer People, 7 Cities of Gold, Pirates, Summer & Winter Games, Defender of the Crown, Impossible Mission, Elite, Stunt Car Racer and most importantly... M.U.L.E.!!
    Best wishes to you and all your subscribers. :)

    • @majmage
      @majmage Před rokem

      Yeah I hadn't seen The Train before this video, and it's pretty amazing how great the graphics were for that one. It's striking just how extreme the differences in graphics were on C64, from games that were very Atari-esque (Wizard of Wor) to games like Pit Stop II and The Train where they really pushed the limit of realism at the time. I don't know of any other system where the difference between worst and best graphics was that extreme.

      @@stalzemsty1669 so many old games of the period were impossibly hard, especially for 11 and 12 year olds. Track and Field I can't get past the 110m hurdles, the qualifying time is the same as the actual time in real life! Manic Miner I never got beyond about 5 or 6 screens without a cheat making you invincible, same for Jet Set Willy. Bruce Lee I did finish, sweaty hands on the screen where you jump across the electric shock floors, what reward do you get? He jumps up and down a few times then you start all over again.

Airborne Ranger another good game, very good gameplay with a keyboard overlay because there were so many keys to use. Ahead of its time!
