the ledge trapping by prodigy was amazing. those dash attacks were on point in my opinion. Even Bestness got sick of it lol, but hey? anything to win it
I'm fairly new to smash but it looks to me like Ness' recover options are what is so predictable not necessarily the Mario dash attacks that are cheese. I mean I get that Mario Slide kind of lingers but what about all these disjoint edge guard characters.
Nate ness recovery is fairly predictable but also really hard to edgueguard, there’s counterplay to What prodigy was doing though because bestness could have held down and hit prodigy with the recovery when he tried 2 framing him I guess he just wasn’t confident in doing si
Watching bestness bothered me, he spaced out all his attacks but then never followed up and he would rack up percent but then not do anything and let prodigy close the gap with one combo. It's like watching someone start to do something and never finish it.
Keep in mind Mario is a combo machine, if BestNess overextends he will regret it far more than possible additional damage. Its risk versus reward

It's more frustrating that Prodigy doesn't cape in this match up, edge guarding with fludd isn't nearly as effective as a well timed cape
Whoo, that match was freaking dope. It always amazes me that Mario, Mr. I-toss-giant-turtle dragons doesn't have one of the strongest backthrows in the game. Believe Luigi back throw is actually stronger, but hey at least Dr. Mario rectify that issue lol

I hate ness but i have to respect it ness vs mario is a difficult thing. All that movement and psi magnet stalls so impressive. Shows a lot more skill than most characters
Ness is easy for me using a swordie
as a mario main: I acknowledge that mario has a lot of valuable tools vs ness. Still feels so hard to win that neutral though. Frickin ness aerials have such good hitboxes and stay out so long... and so powerful... and such good frame data lol
