Expeditions Board Game SHOULD YOU BUY

theMCGuiRE review takes a look at ‪@jameystegmaier‬ Stonemaier Games and their new Expeditions game. This game is a sequel to Scythe, although it is its own standalone game.
In this deep review, we focus on more of the aspects of the game and why you may want to buy this or not. Its not a how to play, its not gameplay, we do hit some play concepts though. This video is not meant to be negative in anyway - but a fair and balanced review of a final production offering. As I state in the video, I do like the game overall and would recommend people getting it if you align with why I like it.

Shrinking the tiles would prevent the card placement between them (with standard card size). Shrinking the card size down to mini American / European (to make them fit) would be awful.

Very thoughtful review. It's hard not to compare Expeditions to Scythe, but I do think such a comparison is useful. Expeditions is a very good game with a solid design and nice production (especially if you ordered the Iron edition with metal mechs). Whereas Scythe is an excellent game that didn't need an expansion but was complimented by the expansions that were released, Expeditions is merely a very good game that IMO won't reach its full potential until the first or second expansion (i.e., it needs an expansion to address its deficits).
I do agree with your assessment about the qualities of solo mode. 🖖
