Thank you for the video. Allow me to disagree on one thing though, and that's regarding what you said about the game box doubling as the game's board. I truly believe this is bad. The box is designed to contain and protect the game. If for example you try to move the stack (the Set a Watch box stack you have on the table in the vid) and one of the smaller boxes slides off and hits the floor, what do you think it's going to happen ? It's probably going to get bent/smashed on one of the corners. Now when you unfold the lid to play on it as a board, you are going to have a damaged board. I really don't like when companies do this. Of course this is my opinion, so feel free to disagree or argue against it. Thanks again for the review !

I LOVE Life in Reterra! Can't wait for expansions to come out. It has gotten great reviews all around.

One of the better short campaign experiences I've had was Warhammer Quest Silver Tower. That unfortunately comes with the GW tax and is somewhat out of print these days. But it has a gloriously short and exciting campaign. About a ten or so scenarios and it's a solid 1-2h per. I didn't mind a solo experience in Jaws. But then again I played og Gloomhaven solo with three characters. Just barely, mind you. Gloomhaven certainly is complex enough where it could use a true solo mode. There's plenty of cognitive load with even just a single character. You gave well explained reasons for shelving the games. I gave up on og Gloomhaven very near the end. I had just a few scenarios to go but I was so done with it. Thus far Frosthaven hasn't lured me over. More of the same and, ugh, crafting. But who knows, it might be the bee's knees. Jaws was a fun Gloomhaven-light experience without making any fundamental changes.

This game was meant to be a small box game. These expansions were progressively worse for the game. Most of the expansion characters are unplayable unless you use the expansion material. Really a bummer.

I picked a ton of these up on clearance at a local shop. For around $5 each. $15 for the giants. Great value at that price, but still a far cry in quality from Citadel. Wiz Kids does not know how to design mini's to be appealing to painters or collectors, they focus on shoveling out as many minis as cheaply as they can.

Great video! I just got the game and I'm really excited about playing it. I've seen your other video from two years ago where you said you were getting rid of it along with other games you liked. Even though you said an overview of what put you off from keeping it (Combat mechanics) I would love to hear a more extended explanation of what you liked and disliked about the game.

I dont like the spawn and card mechanics that mean you are always playing the system rather than dungeon crawling.

Thanks for the video; I am curious if you can bring your existing character into this expansion or if you need to play the new characters? What is your sense thus far on frostbite mechanic? I have seen a few reviews and there doesn’t seem to be any current litigant to reduce frostbite, which is a bit rigid.

Someone should make a card holder like what they did with Azul mini. Hold the card flat and have indentations to place your figures and markers

Gee, I wish I was independently wealthy so I could afford $250+ booster boxes...I bought a couple back when they were like $92 on Ebay, but now now. The Legendary and Showcase distribution on the 3 boxes I got was pretty miserable, honestly. 1 Boba, 2 Fett's Firespray, but no Vaders, no Lukes, only 1 Vigilance and 1 Avenger, 2 Millennium Falcons and assorted other not very good Legendaries. Pretty disappointing. I don't think I'm going to waste any more money on boxes unless they go back to where they started at. Hopefully FFG goes by what their rep on their video said, and they're going to stick to their promise to print another large batch of Spark of Rebellion. Otherwise the supply shortage issue is just going to spike the prices for Legendaries and Rares out of range of the average player and potentially kill the game's popularity for everybody except the whales and the scalpers, and at that point only the tryhard douchebag competitive players and the rich jerk speculators will be buying anything. Please don't go to the Dark Side, FFG. Don't pull a Wizards of the Coin move.

sounds like i should get clear/invincible card sleeves beforehand which isnt too bad with 20-ish euro to me, i did see someone on reddit using their colored d20 as substitute to disc health marker which i thought was cool and genius replacement
