Fishing Boats on Jomtien Beach, I'll Try To Get A Cup of Coffee, & Motorbike Ride to Khao Chee Chan

- Join me for a morning walk and motorbike ride. I'll start out on the beach filming the fishermen, try to get a cup of coffee at my favorite spot, and then head down toward Khao Chee Chan.

When i told a woman that i wanted to go to Thailand the first thing she said was I was going for the bars and the girls. When i said i wanted to see the country she said i was lying. Most people think that all of Thailand is a bar with strippers. They have no idea what the country has to offer.
Same here. When I told someone I was going to Thailand to see sights, they wrink an said sure lol. I recommend Bridge River Kwai. Took train up river an then long boat into Jungle. Visited POW camp.
It was not until years later why i understood why my Dad enjoyed fishing so much. I went with him all the time first fishing the River until he said the fish coming from it were not worth eating. Use to help him make troutlines the usual concrete block on the end to weight the line down and keep the current from moving it down stream and every 10 ' an old window weight evenly spaced hooks usually the treval type 3 prong hook and an old bleech bottle float to locate the line on the open end. All this work just in maintaining the lines and once a day checking it was a lot of work. Then there was the bait depending on conditions. The musscle meat kept behind the shed in a milk carton. The crawdads sained from surface water in fields. But all this was the relaxation of keeping busy at something he loved with his only child (me) lol and the time that he was not being nagged at by Mom.❤😂😮😢❤

In the 80’s and 90’s when I was Navy we would anchor off of the shore in Pattaya frequently and I can tell you now boy has it changed there and Phuket too, grown substantially that I can barely recognize it anymore…

Hey Buddy.. I am sure as hell not trying to get you to start drinking again.. But with my 50 years of drinking... I learned LONG ago.. I just stay with light beer.. Eat well-healthy... drink water and get 6 plus hours sleep along with minor exercise and you're good to go. I can pound down 15 SML and feel just fine every morning. NEVER drink Hard-A. BUT just my thoughts. Stay safe my friend.

1:00 Good deals on fish buying directly from the fishermen is not generally a thing in SE Asia. Relationships are very important. Cutting their fish dealers out can cause fishermen future problems. Many times fishermen have clan members running a booth in the fish market. So it makes no sense to the fishermen to sell cheaper. I don't think most fishermen even know prices. That's not their end of the business. They don't have scales, bags or can make change. Some dealers may set up on the beach but most buying happens in the main market.
I knew a guy in PH who tried to start a fish dealer business. Turned out to be almost impossible to get fishermen to sell him their catch.
in pattaya u go to the neighboring "city" just 20 min away called "na-kluea "and the big fishmarket..buy superfresh fish and seafood still alive and leave it to ppl having bbq for a small amount and have a picnic near it on the grass.. super nice and was good prices..but the chinese and korean tourists have probably ruined the prices to be tripple or more by now as they do in most se-asia..

So why don't you go out to the real Thailand? You are always only within 20km of Pattaya and you say that's the real Thailand. Go up north or south and show the real Thailand.
pattaya is pretty small and concentrated..if u only go 20 minutes from the beach and center its like any normal thai city with few foreigners and few english menus and foreigner prices and really low prices
and "real Thailand" u mean rural areas..well its damn boring there, farmers go up with the sun 5- 5:30 am and to bed with the sundown around 7-8 pm and nothing really happens there.

when i was living in chon buri province ..near pattaya i never went in to the city center and the seedy bar scene there.. Bang Saray Beach beach and Dongtan Beach is much better 555
