I'm still waiting for more historical fiction writers to step it up!
I've had the same feelings about the dog. It was nice to see service dogs incorporated into a historical setting because I'm sure that it's not an entirely new concept. Also anxiety rep in historical fiction? Yes, I'm all about that.
