Peter quit the project when Till keep oriented all the clips about sex, and also about his attitude durings tours. So now you know.
Peter could not follow Lindemanns personal insanity. Richard from Rammstein once told: He’s a damn extreme human being. He gets very deep into situations where I cannot follow him. All he does is very extreme; I don’t know anyone else who does that.”
I loved Lindemann as a band, and it makes me so sad to know that that special sound they created together will never be recreated, but I want the best for these guys and if that's what they want then so be it..

Oh wow. I wrote my feelings. The two albums are just incredible. I wore them out driving everywhere. I liked Lindemann better than Rammstein. Way better. Peter is correct. Their chemistry was incredible. I don’t hate Peter. But I’m very disappointed.

@@Wolf.88 It is sad I personally think Rammstein's quality fell after rosenrot. Idk what flake is doing but ever since reise reise He rarely used electronic trance like synth sounds which I believe made them unique. However they still had the guitar/singing melodies to carry them. then starting LIFAD the guitar work became monotone and repetitive simple and random no melody. Lindemann's 2nd album definitely blows Rammstein's last 2 albums out of the water probably even the new one already sounds like its gonna be the same boring crap again. So Lindemann's 2nd album was such an improvement on the first I'm sure the 3rd would've been near perfect

Those 2 albums are so incredible,I was lucky enough to see them live for the first and last tour ever,it was one of the most memorable shows I ever seen and I've seen many.

Lindemann is one of my all time favorite music projects. The combination of Till and Peter is absolutely amazing

Amazing how much Peter managed to communicate about the downfall of the Lindemann project without dishing dirt. Even now, he has been remarkably restrained in the face of the unfolding scandal Peter’s a class act.

Till Lindemann is releasing another album soon. A few videos released.
@@jagray85I still follow all of what Till releases. It was partially to my understanding 2 guys making music but now we lost the guy (and/or people) who were making the instrumental part. In that happening I feel like the overall sound has changed. I feel like with Peter it was more usual rock instruments but now there is a lot more keyboard stuff. Not saying it’s bad but it’s a change.
I am excited for Zunge I got the fan box edition and I believe the special edition (tried looking it up but only the fan box and vinyl editions are for sale on the Rammstein store) just because it sounded like the box edition was missing the art book. I have been listening to the album on the CZcams generated channel or whatever (the whole album has been on CZcams for a few weeks).
Peter is just simple family type of guy, and the shit Till had in his head for last couple of years is probably too much for Peter. Music is good, but too much obsession with porn and nudity from Till's side.
I think Peter is just trying to avoid being connected to this shit, + he is not that kind of guy who is going to complain on others in front of media, journalists, etc so he keeps it silence.

I’ve interviewed Peter on Swedish radio in the end of the 90’s and he was (and still is) the nicest guy ever. So genuine and so polite. And incredibly talented!
Same here, I didn't really get why he left. Maybee he hinted that Till was a little too much for him, but either that that he didn't say much else.

He didn’t leave. Till owned it all and moved on for some reason. Peter didn’t know about the concert release and the press release took him by surprise too. Misleading headline.
Such a great combo. Deep respect for not dissing L. Knowing some local bands; often by the end of a set they'd not be talking to each other, it happens, differences emerge over time and become unreasonable.
Awe, I really love those two albums. But I can definitely understand, Till has a lot of energy and he's been doing Rammstein for so long that it seeps into his other work, he's almost 60 so I have a feeling that he just wants to go out with a bang. I can appreciate that. But I hope Peter all the best, since Lindemann I've became a fan of his.
That`s not it, the guy is an ego maniac. Peter was writing all the music and Till was still believing he was the mastermind... you get a guy like Peter that produced... everyone in the industry... and you got Till... who can barely shit 1 album every 3-4 years.

I’m quite sure Rammstein didn’t release an Album for close to 10 years, (2009-2019) and those albums are very well made, a lot of tender luv and care is put into them to ensure they’re well distinguished frm each other ❤

2 excellent albums. It’s a shame it ran its course, but that’s life. Both are amazing musicians individually. Tagtgren is arguably the greatest metal producer ever. Till is one of the best front men ever.
I look forward to their projects in the future for sure and hope/pray that Rammstein tour in the US actually happens this year haha.

I was just too young to go on their tour, sadly now there will be no more of this project... On other hand I am happy that i successfully got a live in Moscow special box edition i am so happy with it
First of all The cultural differences between the countries of origin of the two(Peter & Till) are vastly different is social norms. Sweden has kept there porn industry very classic and tasteful to the extreme while Germans are far out on the fringes of the the other side of that extreme. Till has for many years has gone for shock value while Peter let's his actions speak for his talent. Till has no need to do any of the shock value stuff he's very brilliant. Although to some platz eins video was too much others didn't mind its content. if you follow any artist you know they disagree on where the band is going and it is what it is, Both are great at their selected crafts . It is the Scandinavian way to not say maliciousness. I will truly miss this duo and wish all the best.

Not sure why people are negative to this comment. Makes a lot of sense to me based on what I know about both countries. Sweden is very feminist and Germany is very liberal. People make think stuff like that is just superficial, but being Norwegian I really felt that different when living in the US e.g.
Being from TX, I loved Rammstein first. Just discovered Lindemann's side projects. Love it. Watched the Platz Eins video and i absolutely love Peter! Being a Bowie fan, he got bonus points. He seems like a really cool dud & is a amazing musician. Can't wait to discover his work!

He definitely left because of the Platz Eins nonsense. I don’t personally see an issue with it, but I can appreciate the fact that it would turn off some people quite a lot. It’s not something everyone wants to be associated with.

Why would he leave becasue of Platz Eins? I think it all went down once Till started to go on his porn rampage and it was more about porn, controversty thing and it affected lifestyle of band. Peter likes to do music and create. Till seems to enjoy what comes with it. The power, the affection he has, opportunities and so on. As Peter said they worked really well together musicaly but not outside of it. They are friends but controversy is not Peter wants to be associated with. There are probably 5 people in this field that can. You know Flake, Oliver, Richard, Schneider and Paul :D but I am curious why Platz Eins is the problem?

This is the first I'm hearing of it and I had the same thought. I already have almost every vinyl album from Rammstein, now I'll have to snatch up everything from Lindemann while I can

It was not a group... it was Peter teaching Rammstein how to make music...
I think he answered the question, just in a diplomatic way. Till was in charge of the image, Peter the music. When it was great it was great, when it wasn't it really wasn't. There has been a lot of fallout from the porn videos, especially the cross over with parts being filmed at Rammstein concerts, and playing the video at concerts as well as the treatment of the girls in the vidoes. Rammstein has always had a cheeky side but there is a huge difference between innuendo and literal porn. Maybe Till doesn't care but the people he collaborates with, and the fans, do.
On the business side, Till insists on working with Zoran Bihać (who directed platz eins). Zoran has previously directed videos for Rammstein but after a falling out with Richard and possibly other band members over budgets he has not been hired again. Zoran himself has said that he has told Till to "just forget about the budget". I can imagine Zoran's excessiveness being a cause of conflict. Zoran is extreme and unprofessional from a business perspective and ultimately musicians need to make money, not waste it on uncreative directors. I don't think it has been lost on anyone that Peter was not present for the filming of the more extreme parts of the music videos and I wonder if he actually knew what was being planned.

Sounds like it can be summed up as them having "creative differences." It would be great if they got together and did an album of more songs like Yukon though, really like that one personally. Maybe that's more where Peter wanted to take the project and Till had other ideas.
I can't say that was really insightful at all. In any case, it doesn't seem like there's any animosity. So that's nice. Side projects like this, hey, maybe they'll just decide to do more again one day. Big musicians aren't really tied down in any way. And for now we got a solid pile of sweet music from them. That's not going anywhere.
Peter said he used to take care about music and Till about image.
It makes sense if they had a disjunction, because Peter is not the type of person obsessed with porn or showing sexual content or too much explicit (or even just sexual).
Working with till looks hard. But man... This duo was fantastic. The lindemann thing is not the same without peter. Hope they will get back in working together in the future. Never say never...

So as a person who knows Peter I can tell what I heard him say to someone at a bar we were at once:
Till simply partied to hard in Russia where he more or less lived for a good while. There he started making music on his own without Peter. All while Peter wanted to tour more and Till really didn’t care as much because he had Rammstein for that.
Also Peter’s girlfriend didn’t like Till at all. Most because of Till’s way of treating women in his videos (take a look at Till The End). That made her not wanting to do anything with him. She is also some type of manager to Peter and she said that she would not tour next to Till. And that’s where they chose to go separate ways.
Would love to have a drink with Peter, hes such an great and creative musican+producer

The entire Lindemann project just kept getting more and more x rated so I also feel like Till was probably pushing them to do even more perverted stuff to top the last perverted stuff and Peter just had enough. 😄

It was a great combo. Sometimes you just gotta know when to step away though.
That's a non answer. I think the main disagreement was the image. They had no problems in the studio but Peter probably wanted something different and changing Till Lindemann's mind on something is nearly impossible. His ego is huge, even though he may be a down to Earth & humble man. When it comes to his artistic presentation, he has a vision and he will not compromise. It's probably why Rammstein only goes into the studio every 10 years.
The thing was Rammstein was mostly cause they all had big issues while making Lifad. And after that Album they had no contract or anything for a new full length release.
I know, that im hearing impaired but i think i totally missed the "why" part in the video. maybe someon can explain it do me :)

I think that even if Till is easy for him to work with, he isn't easy to be around. IMO the pron shi was only one of their problems. But that's just speculation.

I never really liked Ramstein all that much, but I really enjoy Lindemann albums. especially skills in pills ^^
This year I already saw Peter with Hypocrisy and later in the year I will see both Rammstein and Lindemann with the new band line-up, but it is a damn shame that I won't be seeing Till with Peter on stage together
Honestly, no direct answer was given to why he left, it's still up for interpretation from this. Basically there were too much of those "it wasn't good when it wasn't good" type of situations, no specifics.
Till Lindemann, and Peter Tagtgren remind of the dynamic that Depeche Mode's Martin Gore, and Alan Wilder had. Shame they had to part ways as well.
Kinda glad Lindemann split.

After recent allegations and general controversial attitude regarding Till Lindemann, there is probably another reason for Peter why he left the project. Maybe he just couldn't identify anymore with certain things which Lindemann uses/ used to practise besides their musicianship.
I have another conspiracy theory for you. Recent allegations are due to Lindemann performing on the red place in Moskau, since these allegations collapse like a house of cards as soon as you research them more closely.

I think the real reason is that Peter just was overhwelmed by Till's fame. Peter never was part of band that huge or famous as Rammstein are (not even partially close). Many people just cannot handle when they got recodnized on the street all of a sudden. I appreciate the fact that he's not blaming anyone, but... then again... Lindemann was just to big for him to join.
And I acgtually can understand that. One day you're the lion of your village, then you join a pack and suddenly it turns out you're just a kitten to the world. That's a scary experience. Some grow out of it, some don't.

I agree. Rammstein's success is a group effort, of which success 40% are the violent crazy shows, videos, imagery, blood etc. Peter is all about good quality music, no matter if it's Hypocrisy, Pain, best Bloodbath album or producing other great metal albums.
This is still saddening. Off topic: Does anyone else thinks Peter Tägtgren looks a bit like Steve Buscemi in the videos?

Based on how the question was brought up as well as Peter's hesitance to talk about it in any depth, I feel it's a little misleading and tasteless to title this video in the 1st person of Peter.
He really did the absolute best he possibly could to refuse to answer that question. The "answer" he gave was such a nonanswer, like: It was great, except for when it wasn't. That doesn't mean anything, at all. If he doesn't want to tell us why he decided to call it quits then fine. But if you want to give us an answer then give us a real answer, instead of being intentionally vague and tiptoe around the subject.
That Lindemann would have become the greatest band of all time if Peter would have stayed, i highly doubt it. And even if that would be true, then why did he leave?
I also doubt, from the very beginning Lindemann sounded to me like a compilation of Rammstein unreleased techno mixes. Sure, it's still quality music, but it's not even close to Rammstein level
