    Today I visit the gravesites of the cast members from the classic 1970s TV sitcom M*A*S*H and others.
    Gravesite tours include:
    Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H TV Show creator), Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City, California
    Wayne Rogers (Captain Trapper John McIntyre), Westwood Memorial Park, Lost Angeles, California

    Harry Morgan (Colonel Sherman T. Potter), Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, California

    There are just a few tv shows that still "hold up" and have the two most important elements for success. A great ensemble cast and great writing. In my opinion, MASH is definitely one of them.

      That and the episode when Hawkeye talked about the lady and the chicken (or as he told the shrink) but it turned out to be the lady’s infant.
      OMG, I hate to seeing Hawkeye crying. Such a heartwarming show with the best comedy in the world.

      Miles High to me, the most real epidosed of all time dealt with Captain Pierce and the effects of PTSD. At the time, we didn't see a whole lot out of Hollywood dealing with the mental combat many service members are left to fight back home. The part where Dr. Freedman managed to get Pierce to realize the chicken that was killed was in fact a baby to not give their position away deserved an Emmy for the performance. Instances like that are real life instances that happen. The trauma is so much, and horrendous, they substitute the image with another one without realizing it. Movies like Apacholypse Now tend to depict PTSD like they're raging psychopaths which was exception rather than the rule

    M.A.S.H. was an incredible show to say the least. I believe it still holds the record for most viewers for the final show of a series. I remember what a big deal that was and how cool it was that the directors had the helicopters flying away for the last scene to be in contrast with the beginning scene of the theme song with the helicopters coming in during every episode. Thanks a lot for the Insight on how to use GPS and I didn't realize find a grave had an app. Keep up the great work Steve and see you later!

      "Blake" and "Trapper" were always better than "Potter" and "BJ." The last five years weren't comedy but more like moral lessons that were actually boring but we watched out of habit.

      @@tonyharden7159 agreed. today i'll only watch the seasons with the original cast, i think that's the first four seasons.
      of course, there was a lot of 'moral' storylines in those first seasons, but i think the comedy overshadowed that. as i remember it, the later seasons felt preachy. the show just lost all its fun after linville left. beyond that there are only a few specific episodes i enjoy.

    • @tonyharden7159
      @tonyharden7159 Před 4 lety +2

      Ryan Barker I am going out on a limb and pin point when it started going down hill. As I have said, the best seasons were the ones with Blank and Trapper. There were still a few good ones left though. To me, you can mark it and say that the show started going down hill in the 1978/79 season. IMO just watch up thru the 1977/78 season and then quit. That's just my opinion.

    • @ryanbarker5217
      @ryanbarker5217 Před 4 lety

      @@tonyharden7159 blake and trapper were in the first four seasons. burns (larry linville) left after six, if i remember the timeline i'd looked up an hour ago correctly.
      i'm not knocking the quality with the possible exception of the last few seasons as i remember them to be, but the characters and shows themselves just weren't as good for me on a subjective level.
      but, it's akin to other shows, too, like how about after season three andy griffith started to get a bit short-tempered dealing with the idiots around him. when 'happy days' turned into a sitcom it really lost a lot of its charm.

It looks just like Korea.” My brother just gave me this weird look and replied, “How would you know? You’ve never been to Korea!” I loved the show and watch it still. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a nurse! It may be because I loved my Uncle Joe, and we visited him often when I was little. Then I remember visiting him in a nursing home (I was still very young). I remember watching Ben Casey & Dr. Kildare, and I saw MASH at the movies. When I met my husband he, had been stationed in S. Korea for a year while in the Army. We both loved MASH, and he said it did look like Korea, even though it was in CA. Ty .
