That makes sense. It's important they know not to pull when leashed while walking out of a building and downstairs. I almost hit the ground when my 30 pound dog ran down the stairs to go to the car. Manners are good. Playtime is different.

What about proper socialization? Puppy seeing the busy world on leash as I sit in a lawn chair is OK because I'm not moving? Or do you mean to say that all of our excursions should involve some sort of engagement training?
