A Complete Guide To Doodle Puppy Training
My 7 month old pup is jumping for washing on the line! I try redirect him but obviously not doing it right as he keeps going at it 😣. We’re signed up for training (locally) next month. 🤞🏻Thanks for your videos!
My other dog (3years old) sleeps in a crate in my room, through the night. I have the puppy in a separate room, because if my dog hears the puppy or hears me take her out, he will also want to get out and participate. What do you recommend? Should I sleep in the other room with the puppy to hear if she stirs?
2.5 days with us at 8 weeks old. Shaking my head. She’s such a sweetheart and then goes Tasmanian Devil on you biting, lunging and biting. She doesn’t like the crate yet but will be quiet and sleep 5.5 to 6 hours at night with her Snuggle Pup and crate covered. Had my dear Sadie, also a Jack Russell, for 18 years so it’s been a while since the puppy mode. I feel like I’m failing her.
When I excite my puppy like that she starts biting my clothes, help
If I use one of those pouches my lab mix wil literally attack the pouch 😭
Why do you say to use a leather leash?? (Why not nylon?)
❤ my puppy was just born a few hours ago I can't wait for the day I get to bring her home
If I try to grab my 10 week old Aussie Shepherd/ border collie’s collar he starts to squirm and bite . He injured my fingers the other day because of his squirming. Also most times we aren’t even playing when he bites. We walk him 1km in the morning and try to play ball outside with him a couple of times and then take him for a 1 or 2km walk before bedtime.
Is there anyway to train a dog to get used to being handled like fir vet visit
Guess I've been lucky or taught my dogs not to bite or nip without knowing. All but two dogs I've had were herding dogs and never had problems with them nipping even though they are predisposed to do so. The worst was my most recent Lancashire Heeler. He would act like he was about to take a mouth sized chunk out of you but soon as he bit down it was the softest little nibble it almost tickled.
It is very rare that the dog is the problem, people are the problem, most expect the dog to learn when the human has the most to learn.
My 9 week old puppy screams and I mean screams when I leave him in his pen, even to go to the toilet. . He’s got everything he needs except me. I’ve tried doing the crate training but can not get him to quiet enough to reward the quiet. He’s fine in there when I put him to sleep, but when I want to do chores, it’s just not happening. I’ve also tried a stuffed kong…it lasts two minutes if I’m lucky
What a great teacher!!! and the wild puppy is so cute
My new puppy doing great on tge lead and we're still training inside for the loo . We let him out after each feed and walk him 3 time a day . Hopefully he learned to then do hiz business outside he inly 11 weeks old . Repeatedly behaviour slowly baby strp
I repeat thing over and over eith my puppy thought out the day with breaks I between. He now sits and walk on the lead
I'm not fast enough to get away from Eps. No way I'm chasing her. Her zooms are legendary. She would have loved agility. We had a go at Flyball once. That looks like great fun for high energy dogs too. Have you ever tried it with dogs you work with? Thanks for the clip. 🐾
What type of treats do you use when training? I bought "training treats" but my dog does not like them. I saw that you also used dog kibble as a training treat as well, but my dog does not care that much for her dry dog food. I have to entice her to eat it by mixing some soft food with it. Your help is appreciated. Thank you!
The curiosity and thirst for knowledge displayed here are infectious. It's a testament to the insatiable human appetite for understanding.😛
My puppy barking to much and everybody, how to control it? Please
Will some dogs always require a food reward? I'm hoping not!
When my dog barks I don’t tell him to be quiet or get angry I just pay him and hush him gently and it works!
I swear you guys always chose well behaving poppy. Why not show this on a difficult puppy. I mean this one barely moves. Common.
Did you see little Steven's behavior? He was not playing by the rules at all. If you have a out of control puppy and need special help then maybe you may need a trainer one on one
@@Draek25 I think he's being sarcastic
Aren’t you guys uploading your vids as podcasts anymore? The last episode is from April 3rd there.
My puppy start pulling again
This wasn't the best video demonstration.
❤
My puppy chases me instead 😭
I call this period with my white German Shepherd the blood bath. I found something that I only had to use once and she never bite me again. And it wasn't mean or harmful. I used a spray bottle of water. Now she did however steal it off my dining room table and took it to her dog bed. Where she barked at it. She was and still is hilarious.
😂😂😂
@rachellewalker2967 - She locked me out of my house via the sliding glass door also when she was 3 or 4 months old. My hidden key didn't work to unlock it. Luckily my 19 yr old daughter never locked the front door when she left for work so I managed to get back in without having to go to my neighbors house to call my daughter at work to come home and unlock the door for me. I never left the dog inside while I went outside again. She trained me well. 🤪
My 16 week old Australian shepherd puppy can go for hours and hours before she’s tired and wants to go in her crate!!
I squealed every time my puppy bit me and immediately stopped playing with him. Mouthing was OK, but any pressure wasn't. He'd stopped biting by 12 weeks old.
Thanks Shannon and Ned! I'm feeling more confident about this process now, it's gonna be slow. I hope my puppy forgives or forgets my insanity crushing his lil body to cut all his nails.
"go to the washroom" is such a strange euphemism for urination.
Lucy looks just like my dog! I've never really known what breed or mix she is since I rescued her and I've always been very curious about it. Do you have any idea of what mix Lucy is? 🙏🏻
After I heard "teach your dog to make good choices" without any specifics for the 6th or 7th time I switched this off
How do I get 5 month old stop biting 8 year old dog? He is better at not biting humans.
Well if I could start off with slack in my leash, then I wouldn’t have a problem with my dog pulling. This would help more watching a dog that has a pulling problem, not a welled behaved dog. Everything he is saying makes sense, but doesn’t always work on a dog that has issues, as easy as he is making it out to be.
So frustrating i was legit outside for 2 and a half hours and absolutely nothing all i got was him sitting down or not trying to walk around
Steven is the sweetest puppy
Thank you 🙏 Excellent advice 👍
What if they repeatedly bite after you settle and reward them? Do you just reiterate settle?
Was so impressed with this video that I had to comment. LOVE that one of the trainers was willing to admit she got too close to the other dog and what she did to correct it. Some trainers can be arrogant and say they did it on purpose but just love the honesty here. 5 stats I would hire these trainers any day
So glad you guys posted this! I have a really sassy 9 wk old bernadoodle pup. She’s really sweet but stubborn when she really wants something 😂
for my foster puppies (most 8 to 10 weeks old, I have fostered 15 so far) when they bite aggressively i grab their collar or scruff and give it a few gentle shakes with a firm NO; i use more energy if required. Works all the time and teaches the puppy he needs to listen to me. People should not be afraid to give fair and mild corrections to their puppies/dogs to stop unwanted behavior.
I have a puppy that almost always fails the noodle test, is there a way to help this? She just turned 1 and is a corgi/aussie. Thought maybe since she’s so long that maybe she’s uncomfortable?
we have a blue heeler. she is 3 years old. she herds our guests. nipping at them to get them to the door to leave. she knows the people. and is not afraid of them. and there is no tension in the house when they are here. how do I stop this?
LOL, I have a friend with a red heeler who does the same at her house. Remember, they are a working breed so she's doing exactly what she's bred for. Interestingly, when I look after my friends dog, she gets way more exercise with me (I have 2 dogs and run them daily where she only does long walks at the weekends), I'm very strict with all the dogs and she never displays this behaviour with me...
Ugh. Was just on a morning jog with the dogs, and one of them found a skunk. Not a fun drive home from the trails. Thanks for the tips.
I can do it all!!🥰
Another great video, thank you! 💙🐕
my puppy couldnt care less about treats or food. I dont know what to use .
I have the same issue. I've tried special toys too but that didn't work. I use praise but wish I could find a high value treat.
@@pamelacorsi I truly thought all dogs loved food until I met my puppy.
some breeds prefer praise over treats
If treats aren't working, I've tried using affection, different kinds of toys (some prefer certain kinds of play, try looking into what breed group your pup falls into so you can try things they're more likely to enjoy), games they enjoy, or even puzzle toys w treats in them, interacting with something while making their minds work is sometimes more appealing. It can be difficult, but there's usually something, at least that I've been able to find, that they'll find enjoyable and appealing. Hope you guys find the reward you're looking for!
Look up the video on this channel (MCann) titled “The #1 mistake dog owners make feeding” If you’re not making that mistake, then you may have the VERY rare case of low food drive. I thought my puppy wasn’t interested in food until I started doing the things in that video so give it a try! 99% of dogs will take food as a reward if actually hungry and not stressed
My puppy goes into insane out of control, biting freak out
