  • In 1941 Dambuster pilot Guy Gibson shot down a German bomber over the North Sea. In 2007, a fisherman found the propeller of the same bomber off the shores of Skegness. Today, Drew has taken the same propeller to mount it in a way that respects the heritage of the 70-year-old piece of aviation history.

    I am happy it was saved, no matter what. The incredible blacksmith is such an artist.

    My Brother in law was the fisherman that trawled up this propeller and it was donated on the condition that it would not be sold for money and available for the public to see! So how it ended up in private hands with people making money from it just proves how scummy some people can be :/

    The blacksmith is much more than that. He's a sculpter, inventor, artist.

    I wonder if this is the same German prop from the life boat house in Skegness?

      @historicmilitaria1944 Před 3 lety

      no, that one was from an RAF Hanley Page Hampden, now in the lincolnshire heritage aircraft collection after the RNLI station, having tookdelivery of a bigger boat, donated the prop in 2007 due to lack of space.

      No, atrocious research on part of TV editor. Aircraft are Douglas A-20 Havoc. Known as Boston with RAF.

    Very bad editing. The aircraft in the video is a Douglas Boston, not a German aircraft.
