Yeap agree
Unbelievable.... that's nearly the voice of Radiohead👌Is a killer song...!!!!
The guy doing the jonnys riff and playing the keyboard, brilliant!
Yep, that’s Ben Shin! It’s seriously impressive!
same like jonny play during live hit the key with headstock 🤘🏻
Man Joe picking that riff and singing at same time is not easy dude kudos 🔥

for real though, he's singing with the power and emotion it needs while hitting those notes acurately.
So after actually watching it... no words 👏👏👏👏👏

There, There is my favorite
Radiohead cover band 😃 😊
But I little miss Joe with Taka
.. btw have a good time
Amazing performance, great to see the synth being faithfully played with the head of the guitar as well ;)
Quick question about the channel though: have you ever considered uploading any covers of "On a Friday" era tunes? It would be amazing for someone to figure out the arrangements and revive some of that material in high quality, and you'd obviously be the man for the job! My personal faves are "Happy Song", "Girl in the Purple Dress" and "Phillipa Chicken".
Keep up the amazing work fellas
Thanks! I haven’t yet spent a lot of time with the On A Friday era stuff, but I could definitely see myself digging into it more for the channel, especially after I exhaust the current RH tomes 😅
Also have you ever played this song slightly flat like the original version? I’m also curious if said flatness is because they deliberately tuned it this way or if they slowed it down after taping it.
I noticed that when practicing along! Maybe it was a tape speed thing, that stuff was very common for albums recorded on tape especially the classics! And Nigel is well versed in the old school. No surprises is definitely a tape speed thing for example.
@@JoeEdelmann3 This makes sense. Also it seems fitting that the album is called The Bends and the tunings of so many songs are just a little off-bent, if you will.
@@JoeEdelmann3 Just found this czcams.com/video/v4B_BWHdsW4/video.html
Pretty sure they slowed it down a bit.
hey joe, i wanted to ask, do you recommend an epiphone casino or should i go for an es-335? i definitely prefer the casino look especially because of thom and the tkol/amsp era, but i know the fret access is probably an issue. this would be my main guitar and something i would use with fairly heavy distortion.
They are both fantastic guitars so that’s a tough choice!! The fret access thing is definitely a bit weird and a consideration for lead playing but it’s not insurmountable. The 335 neck access is incredible though. I think (but am not sure) that there’s a longer neck joint version of the ES-330 (the Gibson “Casino” that Thom also uses a lot.) but that would still be full hollowbody with P90s. If you’re going heavy distortion, having the solid center block of the 335 would help curtail unwanted feedback a bit and the PAF humbuckers would probably take to the gain a little differently if not better. (Not to say you can’t get awesome hi gain tones out of Casinos and P90s.)
@@JoeEdelmann3 i rarely ever play lead, but i’m sure i could get around the fret access thing. highest distortion i’d get is probably bodysnatchers/just/airbag tone, and i’m pretty sure thom has used either his casino or es-330 for all of those. i hear about people stuffing their casinos with foam to simulate the center block, but what have you done to cut down on feedback for yours? i know that the chrome covers increase feedback, and i would change the pickups anyways
do you think that could work? i really love the look and sound of the casino, but the jazzmaster is probably the next one i’d go for if the casino didn’t work. i’ve tried and loved both an es-335 and jazzmaster, just gotta try a casino now.
what do you think, would it work for me?
@@kastle4774 the feedback (as long as its not microphonic/high-pitched/uncontrollable) is kinda part of the Casino's "thing", so I probably wouldn't ever foam stuff it! But that being said I have used the Casino onstage with moderate amounts of gain and actually never experienced unintentional feedback! I also use an ISP Decimator G-String noise gate so that probably reduces the risk as well, and our stage volumes aren't that loud. But that kinda percussive, resonant character of the hollowbody is such a cool sound. Definitely try one if you can get your hands on it! See if you like it.
Also - bodysnatchers for Thom is an SG (solidbody/PAF pickup, so probably closer to the 335) and Airbag was a Jazzmaster :-) On Just he's used a bunch of things for it live, sometimes Teles, sometimes his Casino I think.
@@JoeEdelmann3 i love the haiti benefit show because he plays all three of those (maybe not just, cant remember) if not every song on the setlist with a casino/330 and they sound great
that’s probably the only show ever where he hasn’t used the black jm
thank you so much for the advice btw!! love your page, taka’s, and i’ve discovered tkog from you as well, so that’s super helpful
i sent you a dm on instagram a little bit ago about thom’s the smile board, idk how active you are on there though
Have you got any problems with playing Radiohead on stage? If not, why? I'm just curious, because I've never understood why people can freely play others music on stage and be fine. Do you arrange this with Radiohead or don't even ask? Nice cover, by the way 👏👏👏
It’s complicated, but typically I believe venues that have cover artists pay a license fee to performers rights organizations like ASCAP and BMI, who in turn pass on those royalties to the artists. So no, we haven’t gotten Radioheads express permission but I’d hope they’d take what we do with the love that’s given amongst us fellow fans of the band! ☺️
@@JoeEdelmann3 Thank you for that information. Good luck in what you love doing, we love your covers! ❤️
How many drummer's does it take to change a light bulb...
One and a lot more thereafter saying how they woulda done it.
Great cover solid throughout.
😂
Awesome if it felt just a smidge and a little rushed
Little speed drum, its not follow the song😊
good job with vocal, but...wtf is going with the tempo? It changes throughout the song... and the Johnnys part is weirdo...wrong notes
but that's still cool and impressive
