Lena Hall is a Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee, recently portraying the dual starring roles of Hedwig and Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Following her Tony-winning Broadway run, she toured North America with Josh Groban on his Stages tour. She originated the role of Nicola in the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots, and can be seen on HBO’s Girls, Amazon Prime’s Good Girls Revolt, and heard voicing the fan-favorite role of “Countess Coloratura” on My Little Pony. In 2018, Lena will be appearing opposite Jennifer Connelly in TNT’s science fiction epic Snowpiercer.

I've played this on repeat about 50 times now. It's my tribute song for a girl I met in France, in 1984. Today, 30th Jan, is the anniversary of her death. She died in 1999 at the age of 29. I only found this out last year. I only knew her for a few hours, that summer, but I fell in love with her and I can vividly recall every minute that we were together. Every girl I have loved since, has looked like her, and I only realised this when I was 51 years old. Since learning of her passing I am no longer afraid of death because I will see her again. If I had a time machine I'd go back and save her from drowning.

Okay so this song just makes me cry no matter who is singing it apparently. it just hits my soul
This version of the song is as haunting as that scene. I have spent quite a bit of time finding it and learned that the amazing voice belonged to the talented actress behind it. How many people have their singing and acting featured in such a pivotal sequence?

I love the way she sings and controls her voice. Amazing skills and passion.
I end my live sets with this song, because it is such a melancholic and haunting way to leave a performance. But damn you're the ghost in the song, you're the very embodiment of the hopeless emptiness Thom Yorke spoke about when he described the song as the tunnel with no light at the end. I was transfixed and amazed at the terrible beauty you just created.

Was one of my favourite Radiohead songs when I was a young lad. Recognised it on snowpiercer and found my way here.
A haunting song, I think Lena’s cover eclipses the original and suits the narrative of her character in the show beautifully.
Six months ago I made a comment in this breathtaking version, and now I am able to listen it in snowpiercer. A cover that a lot people had to hear. She is, also, a good actress. Just perfect..
It was her voice that caught my attention first. Unfolding as a flower I heard Lena Hall's attention to every musical note delicately balanced by every song.

Discovered Lena Halls Obsessed series last week after hearing her Portishead version. Watching this weeks episode I discover there is more great stuff.
I've heard a lot of covers of this song. this one hits that same spectrum and message Thom sang it in..... the futility and nihilism of everything. like staring the devil in the face knowing there is now hope. i love it!
Haunting, I love the original, but this cover is so damn perfect, so full of darkness and the singer so talented, i can see she's acting and feeling the soul of this song, and giving one of the best interpretation I've ever experienced. Pure gold, IMHO. Ty so much Miss Lena Hall, this emotions are deep and unforgettable. Really took me away from this world we're living in. Pure gold, I repeat.

This is amazing! Like so many, I heard it on Snowpiercer and had to pause the episode to find the song. It haunts me. It's devastatingly beautiful in its dark tones, and it is difficult to imagine anything more moving, especially the final few notes - which sends chills down my spine, and brings tears to my eyes.. I heard this, and just had to find it, I was compelled to. There is just something both so unbelievably haunting, and at the same time comforting about this version. I could sit in the twilight, rain hitting against my window, with this version on repeat forever. Your voice is so amazing. Awesome work on this cover.
