Do you have anu official app service ? Where I can see all the seasons of Forged in Fire ?
"Overall Sir, it will 'keelll'!"😁
When is the next international episode going to be on here?
Is it me, or this blade looks like *_Spider Sword_* from *_Prince of Persia: Warrior Within_*_ / _*_Revelations_*
🤔
Most smiths: “Five days is barely enough time to finish this sword!”
Ricardo: “I finished two. Which one should I turn in.”
*It will kEEll*
that was impressive both looked amazing
His competitor built one blade with the weight of two.. I wish they gave the extra dummy to Ricardo so that he can test the first blade when he comes home..
He made two so that he could keep one to himself after submitting the other one. Smart planning. It surprised me though, how did he make them so quickly? Literally 2 days a sword and looks great.
5 days is more than enough. Unless they have a time limit for each day, I mean you can finish the whole thing in a day if you had the time and resources.
You'll immediately know that the guy who have spare time to make the second blade would definitely win
Has*
Mi p made
Yep
He wasnt happy with his first one and knew he could do better and perfected a sword he barely knew about. Pure genius.
especially when looking at his competitors junkyard
Ricardo: I am nervous because I've never made something like that before..
Also Ricardo: I'll make another one!
Technically he didn't turn in the first one he ever made, that experience went into the winning blade :D
@@Foxxie0kun he may have think to him self; the first one oh a bit heavy and I can make a better one. He presented the upgraded version imo he he.
Ricardo: I never made something like that before
Ricardo: I got it, I'll make something like that before I make something like that, so that I have made something like that before.
Ricardo:
- makes two blades
- (properly!) tests them
- declares himself the Forged in Fire Champion.
- writes a check to himself for $10,000
The rest is just formality.
You only have 4 days to forge this weapon.
Ricardo: How many do you want?
Br é Br né kkkk (Brazilian is incomparable)
Had a good laugh at this comment. What a legend this blacksmith is!
LMFAO the judges should have tested both of Ricardo's blade against each other 😂
The other guy was too busy making meth!
Dude made two blades could’ve given the first one to his opponent
@Steven It was an obvious joke my guy, keep politics out
@Steven Do you react like this to every joke in America? How the mighty have fallen
@Steven love me some sprinkled racism on that ego wound.
@Steven Sure bud, cope
@Steven funny how a 250 year old country, that has dominated only the past 70 years of world politics and wars tries to continuously prove that it is better than people who had empires before the US was even thought of. With that education system, I am not surprised though, that you don't know much about history. Bernie could have helped you with that, maybe try to rethink ;)
Ricardo in this show really proved how skillful of a bladesmith he is. Not only was he able to make a perfectly functional blade, but he also made two within the time limit WITHOUT wasting any time on finalizing the details. The other contenders from previous episodes, however, were still begging for five days instead of four (albeit some of the contestants did get either complicated weapons or are required to meet parameters by the slightest of details. But still, Ricardo is, bar none, a true genius and I hope he becomes an ABS Master Bladesmith.
JustSimplyBrandon Oh hi Ricardo!
@@johnvillouta1921 Cheep Cheep
john villouta aaahahahha
He had better tools -_-
Add to that that this clearly isnt an easy blade, as his compeditor didnt even get to compete. He managed to balance that big tip and add a handle that can reduce the force on your wrist.
Ricardo’s so cool that now he’s even a judge in the forged in fire: Brazil and Latin American 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wait there are other Forged In Fire shows?
@@ammagon4519 yes
@@adeildo84 any links yo
He made me a dagger for my college graduation! His skills are amazing! My dad took me to meet him and I got to hold the ikakalaka. It’s an intimidating piece to hold! Going to a knife show in a few months to see him again and hopefully Doug Marcaida as well.
Ricardo's ikakalaka is one of the most beautiful craftmanship I ever saw in the competition.
6:04 I cant help but admire his work.
I hope we could see him work again on much complicated design like a rapier.
It honestly looks better than the example they had as a representation at the start. It was such a well finished blade.
Looks like it was hollow ground
It is truly a piece of art. It looks so clean that it could be a 3D model...
@@deathscythe33 you can see him working... is just search for Ricardo Vilar. He is Brazilian, so I think you won't understand what he is talking but you can appreciate the knifes hahaha
Nick:I feel an extreme weight off my shoulders.
Doug: I feel an extreme weight on my shoulder.
Now that’s funny!
You know someone’s sword will fail when the start to add extra bonus clips in the beginning of the video
This is exactly what I thought. It's sad doe cause you are getting kinda spoiled.
@@zeprettybrainlessamalgamat7232 des but when the Video is only 5min long its the same
Lame that they did not even swing it. Your body is not that fragile.
@@MatsNorway yeah, try swinging 6 pounds around, while having to stop it, and having to pull it out of the ballistics dummy
@Skummar Köphunchuksohn what kind of weapon are you?
Other Smiths: Damascus
This guy: 2 swords!
2 swords are alot better than damascus id say, ive never been fond of damascas myself though except for ornamental pieces, ive never looked at a sword and though "hmm yes zebra print would look good on this"
@@Lickicker Damascus forging techniques are lost, what we have is wootz, folded steel with an acid, but other details were lost.
the real Damascus steel was mentioned by Crusaders to have feats equal to modern steel AND having the cool look.
the difference between REAL Damscus steel and modern version, is like the difference between Muramasa Katana, and any other Katana.
@Eve it depends on the build itself, a sword that has emphasis on straightness like a Katana or Scottish broadsword will lose some Beauty with Damascus style, while Damascus can improve the look of Curved swords (Scimitar) and Celtic and Viking weapons since their art style merge well with the Damascus battern.
Damascus is HARD TO DO, and that's why many smiths do it, to prove their skills.
@Eve Nope, you're not the only one.
I've definitely seen some crazy beautiful kitchen knives with pattern like river jump, but in most cases I think it's too much of a bling, just like iced wristwatches.
@@belalabusultan5911 you're mistaken. Wootz is a type of Damascus, and THAT was lost. What we have is Damascus, not Wootz.
Ricardo’s blade wasn’t only great in the test, it’s probably one of the nicest looking ones in the whole show. It’s so shiny and polished that you can tell he finished early and had extra time to make it look clean and professional.
and second one
Him and Ilya were clearly true masters compared to others
5:20 I'm super impressed with how clean his temper is. The reason his sword looks golden here is because of the color change that happens in the metal when tempering. Most of the time people's swords have blue spots (too hot) or silver spots(not hot enough). His temper is so clean it looks like he made the sword out of brass.
I never seen such a complete blowout on this show.
One guy's sword is so heavy they didn't even wanna test it.
The other guy made 2 swords and they both looked amazing.
Nick, oh man, they did him dirty
Ricardo is a Master Smith, needless to say: He's on the judge's level
And the heavy one would be better for any strongman like Hafthor Julius Bjornsson.
then you have definitely not seen the cane sword tests
i think they screwed nick
Ricardo is definitely leagues ahead, a master of his arts.
TBH his blade is also a tendon ripping monster, coz.......
It ripped ballistics dummy's shoulder let alone tendon
When they showed the finished blades at the start of the kill test, you could already tell that the amish looking guy's blade wasn't going to win.
Yah Ricardo winner 🎶
ValePC truly
It's the weight.
True Lion of Hylia yeh but looking at it it looks like it has cracks and other debris on the blade
Looks like an ork weapon😂
No one
2nd guy : lets make 2 swords.
Maximum flex achieved
I mean id want one for myself as well, i mean did you see what his sword did to the dummy?
is it really a sword tho ?
I can see it qualify as both Dagger and ax....
@@belalabusultan5911 not a dagger it’s to long to be classified as a dagger
That man should be a presenter on this show. To make two swords in the allotted time slot? He knows his stuff!
He’s a judge on Forged in Fire Latin America. He’s also an blacksmith instructor at a nationally renowned blacksmith school in historic Washington, Arkansas.
@@blueeyesUSMC whoaaaaaaaa so that's why he's so great
Here in Brazil Ricardo is a legend he's a great Master, he make art
Lembrei do cuteleiro/ferreiro Ricardo Vilar aqui no BR. O cara mostrando como é que se faz Brasil afora, criando não so 1 espada de alta qualidade, mas logo duas.
Ricardo: "hmm I think i can do better... I'll make two"
Nick:
J K nice likes
One guy... "I have to choose which of my two crafted blades I should present for testing".
Other guy... "Here's a one-handed flattened Bar Mace with forge scaling on it. It's heavy, but it'll be fine".
Judges... "Yeah, NO".
i think he should have taken the hint when it was too big for his quench tank. he needed to make it a little narrower at least, that would have saved quite a bit of weight
@@edschramm6757 The width would have been okay... IF it wasn't 1/2" thick.
@@AM-hf9kk fair enough. I still think it was a bit wide, but it was entirely too thick. A blade that heavy is gonna be really difficult to control a swing with. And I'd be concerned about the blade snapping off where it leads into the tanf
Pls invite Ricardo back and if he wins let him judge an ep as a one of maybe.
Watch Forged in Fire Brazil so!
He is a judge for latin America version
He is a Judge for forged in fire Latin America
Ricardo has ascended blacksmithing, he is on another level.
Plot twists his name is ivaldi the dwarf
I love that shot with Ricardo's cat next to the anvil it's so cute
I thought he will throw a lethal blow to his cat 😨
Yeeees, the cat was the second best bit.
@@rnkp_des and it will keeeel
Was so cute*
The Difference in skill between these two is insane.
One makes 2 amazing blades, tests them very well and makes them look like a professional job.
Meanwhile the other just kinda makes a lump of steel barely in the shape of a Ikakalaka. But at least he has some symbols for humility and strength lmao
Strength: What it takes just to wield
Humility: What it displays when trying to use in battle
Seeing the weapons before the kill test had my welder instincts screaming when I saw that rust where the curved part of the blade had been welded on.
I was thinking the tip (head?) of it would snap off, i’m no smith or welder tho. Do you think that might have happened?
Seriously, I have no knowledge of welding or forging and I was CRINGING at the look of that. Why on earth did he think welding a chunk of metal onto the tip would be a good idea?
if your a welder then you should know not to weld on Rust, clean it first
In Brazil, we don't know about the other competitors very well, but I expected no less from Ricardo Vilar (R. Vilar)! Undoubtedly one of the best bladesmith of Brazil (One of the founders of Sociedade Brasileira dos Cuteleiros-SBC "Brazilian Cutlery Society", Journeyman Smith by the American Bladesmith Society, various famous survival knives and tactical knives for the police and armed forces of Brazil carry his signature)! Waiting for the challenge between Tom Silva (Winner 1st CHALLENGE UNDER FIRE LATIN AMERICA) x Daniel Jobim (Winner 2nd CHALLENGE UNDER FIRE LATIN AMERICA) x Ricardo Vilar! And find out who is the greatest Brazilian bladesmith!!! Please HISTORY make it happen!
that would be great
o cara é foda kkkkkkk
This is great! ❤️

Ricardo: I'll make two blades in the time it takes to make one

Repeat after me: Heavy weapons are for anime.
And Dark Souls.
And Dark Souls...
And final fantasy
Will do, putin
You Putin on
Why is it always anime that's blamed for heavy weapons? As if Western media hasn't done the same thing...
Just look at Warcraft for example.
Ricardo is so passionate about his work that he made two blades ,most amazing guy I have ever seen "hats of to you my man"👍👏
Ricardo: I thought it be more effective to have one on each hand.
Disappointing not to see Ricardo’s blade not go through all the tests... a 2 day masterpiece... good job 👍
Man I'm hooked on watching Forged in Fire. Love the show.
Parabéns Ricardo. I’m not Brazilian, but I am Hispanic. And nothing makes me more proud then seeing my people succeed. Not to mention how much of a beast he is, two swords!? 🔥🔥🔥
wow.....Ricardo just went on this show and was like “lemme be a straight g real quick and do two blades, no biggie”. He is officially my favourite contestant ever 😂
Ricardo should quit smithing, I mean, he should instead open a smith school and teach Experts who want to go to the next level.
He actually does that in Brazil
"I like your ikakalaka" sounds like something that should be said in the bedroom
That dude is easliy one of the best forgers to have stepped into that building
History Channel runs a Forged in Fore Champions contest and the weapon they'll make will be randomly selected.
Ricardo: "I made every weapon from every episode just in case of this. I did it this morning in the parking lot."
I'll spend time drinking lemonade while other smiths sweat in forge.
My man just chopped the dummy like it wasn't even there lol
Parabéns Ricardo villar, representando o povo brasileiro, e honrando seus fans 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ricardo should have pulled out his spare sword. Shearing is caring.
"Find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life"
-Mark Twain
Ricardo was like: Hold my cat, I'll make one more sword!
I was impressed with Ricardo since the beginning: selected the harder tier, produced the better finished blade in less amount of time and the icing in the cake is that he created the sword with high quality twice! He'll really build his name in America with his impressive skills.
How to win 100% of the time in FiF.
Don't let a judge call your sword heavy.
As soon as that guy said "It's going to be heavy" I knew who was probably going to win. Ricardo had time to make two quality blades so it just goes to show how much more skill he has.
8:08 you can see how Doug says O O F the moment he picks the sword up
This dude actually made two beautiful blades. What a ton of equipment can do and with man with the skill to use it, that's crazy!
After seeing Ricardo's Ikakalaka deliver that first blow that severed the shoulder, and then just devastate the ballistics dummy, I wanted to see it perform in the remainder of the tests. Oh, well. With that type of initial performance, at least he won.
Considering he tested it himself on that giant piece of wood I would say it does well.
"Overall Sir, it will 'keelll'!"😁
It's interesting to see what makes a great sword, in the present or past. Not just strength, durability and sharpness. But the balance and perfect weight that brings it to life in the hands of the skilled, like part of themselves. The ancient magic of fire and steel, seen in the legendary blades of history and myth. Great series!
Wow. Ricardos blade hit that tubing holding the ballistic dummy.
I love how they explained the history and the parameters for the blade in this episode. They should always do that
They do, when there is enough historical evidence to go along with whatever particular weapon they're building.
Man that's rough - Ricardo made such a gorgeous tool, but didn't get to see it fully tested =/ Feel bad for the other dude too since it's a pretty innocent mistake - they should really have weight tolerances in the build guidelines.
Well, they usually have some standards about weapon's weight and stuff like that. And they always showed some tolerance. If they didn't even try, that says a lot about how heavy that blade was. That should have been a one-handed sword. If you need two hands to be able to wield it, to sustain it's weight, then something is very wrong with it.
thank you for bringing back the history of the weapon!
That first guy is just flexing 😂😂
Competitors are often close in the weapons they submit. But Ricardo's forging outperformed his opponent in looks, weight and... amount
Have you seen the spike shield ep, yet?
It's even more extreme.
@@ryanshannon7703 Ilya is a beast as well.
He lost the competition at 3:01
Yup. As soon as he said it would be heavy I figured I might as well stop watching for the outcome and start watching for the kill test.
6:52 legendary quality vs common quality
Dude makes 2 swords in just a few days.
Thats what I call PASSION!
Even at the forging stage, with such a thick metal slab, it was clear that the sword would be too heavy.
My god that first chop was the deadliest cleave I've ever seen on this show
This blade looks one of the most lethal weapons in the show.
It was used by Killmonger in Black Panther
both are professional in his own way.. i liked this episode
The way he says
“Your weapon, will kill” is SO satisfying for some reason
Im fairly convidend that my blade will succeed
This is some extreme spelling of "confident"
Yrp
Your profile picture is so freaking cool
YO I LOVE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE, DISHORNED FOREVER!
5:31 you can clearly see the cat is the safety inspector
Shaquille O'Neil slashing his opponent using this
"Boom Ikakalaka!!!"
You know a blade is gonna fail early when they show the whole history of the weapon to reach the 10 minutes
Finally we got the historical information too❤
The winner's blade was beast!
Beyond being obviously superior, Ricardo's Ikakalaka was stunningly beautiful!
Please keep putting the history of the weapon in the videos
It's always heartbreaking to see a blade not get tested due to safety concerns, but I'd rather smiths learn to appreciate the weight, balance, and handle construction sides of smithing by losing due to these failures than see anyone get hurt needlessly.
Ricardo Vilar 🇧🇷
Ricardo: literally makes two blades both amazing and has the perfect blade
Rick: makes one nit so good blade and get disqualified immediately
Ricardo: This blade, It is good... ANOTHA
Wow! This made my day! What an awesome Smith Ricardo is!
Crazy one 🤣 he made two blades I love this guy 😂
He should have won the moment the swords were presented on the podiums ffs.... That's the cleanest looking blade in the series
Ricardo: can make two high quality blades in 5 days, has a blade so sharp it can cut through a car door and hard enough not to get damaged.
Ricardo: “It’s okay for me.”
LIKE BRUH I NEED TO SEE YOU GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
Ahh dumb I'm always dissapointed when blades dont make it to the sharpness test. It's so satisfying
parabéns Ricardo, sobre que foi pra competição pelo Cavalinni, já sabia que ia ganhar, perfeito! vida longa e próspera 🖖 , hakuna matata!
Hephaistos: Now that's my boy!
Ricardo: Thanks, Dad. I wanted to make you proud.
Honestly, the sportsmanship on this show is fantastic. Good stuff! Very impressive submission from Ricardo too - wow!
Crazy.. I was actually pretty nervous watching the presentation of the swords and hoping they wouldn't even test the other guy's weapon just because how raw and unfinished it looked. Cracks, forge marks all over it, ugliness... wow If they tested and somehow Ricardo's blade failed, that would have been really messed up. I think for that risk alone, they didn't wanna test it. The weight was just an excuse... they tested blades 5 times the weight of that lol
dude did a rush job hand forging a sword he had never seen or heard of before, yes it was ugly, but they didnt even rely give him a fair crack in the testing
Judges did the right thing. Safety is number one, or so they claim. Imagine being a pro tennis player and being handed an awesome racket to play with. Then they ask you to play with a racket that is possibly double or triple the weight of the first. Doesn't sound like much, but injuring your rotator cuff, elbow, or wrist is not fun at all. The judges wouldn't be able to test his heavy blade the same, as they'd have to hold back to control the weapon and try not to injure themselves or lose control. They made the right call.
Other guy even made a 2 swords
After watching so many of these, Ricardo is definitely one of the better and smarter smiths. He used what he know and is comfortable with and just did it. He didn't do anything fancy like Damascus or weird shaping or even tried to put his own signature twist to it.
ive only watched what i see on Netflix and Ricardo’s the first pro bladesmith that ive seen do everything so easily!!
I love this show
4:19 and 5:34 looks like someone knows his memes! And his name is even Ricardo!
Ricardo's blade even looked better than the original blade they shown.
"Today on Forged in Fire you will have 3 hours make a blade in your signature style...you time starts...now"
Contestant One: I'm going to make a camp chopper."
Contestant Two: "I'm going to make a Bowie knife"
Ricardo: "This is my version of Excalibur. Getting the symetry on Birdseye maple scales to match both sides took more time than I expected, but for me it's good."
Imagine being in a weapons lesson with Doug and when he asks you to step up so he can demonstrate something to the class l, and you hear him say to someone " blade smith, you're up first"
I like the background information
Quality of metal speaks a lot...it is also important to hit well hard under super hot condition to be fully compacted metal and considering lightness in weight....
I Love Ricardo's accent.
it's both Hispanic and Southern and I never would of thought anyone could have an accent like that.
