Both the lyrics and their story remind me a lot of the anime Princess Tutu. A sad story with magical girl, fairytale, and ballet themes. We dress up fairytales and ballets as romantic and beautiful, but we forget that most of them end tragically (Swan Lake). It's quite hard to be the heroine of such stories, I think. Just my thoughts.

I like how the ending isn't just revenge.
She was under lots of pressure by someone who is trying to live their dream through her, and she comes to realize this isn't what she actually wants, so changes herself, but she also doesn't just abandon the other person. In realizing what she wants, she realized that what she was is their dream, one they're too scared and self-loathing to try and achieve themselves. The other person doesn't hate her, didn't even think about the pressure they're putting on her, (maybe because they might've never realized they were putting so much on her) and probably doesn't realize that she doesn't want to live the same dream as them. So, while she does confront them about this, making them face "the ghost they were", she also extended a hand to them, offering to help them find themselves like she is trying to.
It's really sweet. Sometimes the other person is just as scared or broken as the person they project onto, and while many will not take it, it never hurts to at least try to help. They need to get over their issues as much as anyone else.
A perfect description of this. Although at times the only thing you can do is leave the person because they will continue to try dragging you down with them.

いやどの歌詞も大好きだけど
魔法少女のモチーフとか提供先のゲームのこととか何も考えずに最初に聴いたときの印象だと、毒親とか束縛系の恋人とかの所有物(アクセサリー)になってた子の歌っぽく感じた
この歌、拍子感といい音形といい途中の跳躍といいリズムといい、マジで好みすぎる

絵を見て何処となく「恐ろしい」と感じてしまった。

This really makes me think of the magical girl genre in a different way. Characters like Sailor Moon are forced to put on a show and look beautiful, even though their true purpose is to save everyone.Yet tragically these magical girls don’t complain about this and open their arms to the idea of being loved by the world in exchange for their heroism and beauty, which in the end is never fully appreciated because people are too caught up in their own self hatred to care.
Edit: Turns out the song is filled with a variety of references! I’m glad so many of you are on board with my theory about the song’s theme

歌詞を何度も反芻してけど、もしかしたら何かしらのアンチの人達に贈られた曲なのかも。「あなた」は自分に満足出来ないから「私」を否定するのね

冒頭で一気に引き込まれた。不気味な心地良さがとても好き。
自己犠牲的で盲目な白鳥(アヒル)さん、原作準拠なところが切ないです。絵に描かれている子がずっと笑顔なのは、自身が白鳥で在り続けるための儀式なのかもしれませんね。足元のファンはそっちのけで、振り返ってもくれない他人へ向ける笑顔が、まるで自分への愛など必要ないと言わんばかりに輝き続ける。だから初めて見た時こわかったのかもしれません。どこか狂気的であり、すごく魅力的でもありますから。
歌詞が毎回ついてて字幕もありなの本当に助かる。世界観が大好きだからその意味もわかって最高。

this goes unironically hard
like. this is a song without an ounce of satirism in it. this is a song that thinks magical girls are cool, that the color pink is cool, that frilly skirts is cool, and that sparkles and magic is cool. i love it. also is.... oddly mellow and dramatic with it's instrumental and lyrics, but it just works.
This is such a tribute to Princess Tutu, it makes me want to go back and watch it again…
I always rewatch Princess Tutu every couple years, its my favorite magical girl anime, so good!! I love that this song gives off Princess Tutu vibes, even if it was just coincidence. But I like to believe it as a homage to magical girls/old shoujo anime, since the art resembles older anime style and the design of the girl is similar to a magical girl

Music is so soft and melody is so fascinating. The art reminds me so much of the old japanese animation styles and in combination with everything else it creates a beautiful peace of art and makes me hyped for the game itself. Hope I'll be able to play it in one way or another.
