My Breast Cancer Diagnosis Story

  • This video is about what signs and symptoms I had that led to a self exam and ultimately my breast cancer diagnosis.
Please note that a cancer diagnosis is a very personal experience and there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to breast cancer symptoms and treatment plans. This is just my story and personal experience.

Thank you for sharing your story! I have been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and I have my bilateral mastectomy in a few days! I am scared. I am so afraid they will find more during the surgery. I have not gone through chemo yet. It all depends on if they see any cancer in my lymph nodes during the surgery. You are so right. The moment you find out everything changes forever. I hope you are doing well now in 2023

God bless you & yours this day & always.

The symptoms you spoke of initially, sound like perimenopause. Thank God you had the visual symptoms in the fullness of your breast that led you to investigate. You did everything right and had very speedy diagnosis and treatment, you are very brave to share your story and it will definitely help other women! You will be a rock for someone else, you are stronger for having gone through this and I pray that you have a wonderful life with your husband and precious boys!💕🙏🏼 from 🇨🇦

Thank you so much for sharing your story, it gives me so much hope right now. I had a 2nd mammography and ultrasound on thursday and was told it's not looking good and that it is a malign finding. Having my biopsy tomorrow. On thursday I was in shock and hardly reacted at all, and the next day reality hit and I basically cried all day. Feeling more ready now to face whatever comes even though I know it will be hard. Have had the same kind of symptoms as you the last months (since late summer I think). Feeling tired and extremely hormonal, waking up with a feeling something's really wrong. They couldn't see any lymph node involvement on the ultrasound which is a relief, but the waiting now is the worst. Just randomly found your video today so I have no idea how your progress have been but hope you are cancer free now. Will continue to watch.💕

Thank you for sharing, has been an amazing help and listening to your story before upto the biopsy, is exactly the same as how it was for me just a few days ago. I was totally unprepared for the follow up of my mammogram. I just knew I needed a further scan as what you described is exactly as it was for me here in the UK just last Friday 3rd November. I admire your courage and although I am still waiting for my diagnose, listening to you gives me hope and strength. This waiting time is true torture.
Your video is from a year ago and I truly pray all is going well for you now. At this stage I am not ready to watch any further videos but I take the message of this video to wait in hope and positivism for my results on 13th Nov 23. I hope I hear before then but that is what they’ve told me. Regardless the news I will certainly look for your updates 😊❤

Your story is identical to mine, except my cancer is in the left breast. I had a left mastectomy 5 days ago. I am still waiting for my results and 2 -3 lymph nodes are being biopsied also. I am 60. I know I am much older. I have been told I will need Radiation and after my results come in that will determine if I need Chemo. Ironically, the ONLY reason I went for a mammogram was because my right breast and underarm had been sore to the touch or bump for about 10 months. I just thought it was arthritis ( inflammation). All the activity was on the left breast during the mammogram. I had extra imaging done, the Dr came in, I had a needle biopsy done ( also on a Friday) and was told my results would be in by the following Tuesday or Wednesday. The Tuesday was my 42nd Wedding Anniversary so I decided to wait until the Wednesday so hubby and I could enjoy our special day. I never really believed I had cancer and thought I would be told I had some calcium deposits.
The phrase You Have Cancer will never leave my mind. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry and decided tears were appropriate. My mind left the Drs Office at this point and my husband sat glued to the Drs instructions on my behalf.
Waiting for results is the hardest part. Fear gripped me for 3.5 weeks. Then I decided to toughen up. The next week will be hard until I see my surgeon again.
The hardest part for me was knowing this may have been avoided if I'd had regular mammograms, but I had left it 12 years. 😮
Girls, go and get your mammograms. I was one of 6 women in the ward for breast surgery last Thursday morning. 7 more women were admitted for surgery in the same afternoon. 😭
Thank you for sharing your story. I wish every woman or man going through this a positive outcome. As ive been told so many times this past month, breast surgery and treatment has come so far. XO ❤️🇦🇺🦘

I was diagnosed with breast cancer with size 3cm tumor in y milk duct. I never had kids. I'm 66 years old..I'm allresdy handicapped. I'm small breasted. So never could get mammogram. I would self exam a couple times I year. I noticed breast was deformed. I felt large lump. Had sirgury end of May this year. I have had so many problems since surgury.
Massive hematomas over and over again. I have extremely bad lymphademia in that arm. I cant use arm because of massive hematoma. I go on 15th of August. Less then week. To get all these tests to see where else cancer has gone. I'm terrified!! I know it's death sentence!! My cancer feeds off estrogen..There is no history of cancer in my fsmiley. As soon as results come back. I start 2 years of chemo to block estrogen. I allready have really bad legs. Lyphadema. Ulcers. Severe arthritis both knees. I'm being told by cancer dr. Thst I won't have any side effects. I have been watching videos. I know side effects are worse than cancer. Then I hear on some videos that chemo doesn't help. I'm in panic!! Im being told I will

Hi. I stumbled on your video because I have a problem with my breast (the right one) and I am trying to not stress about it. I also have to same symptoms, in a matter of days my right breast double its size. It is also really painful. My armpit is also swollen and painful.
Since I have flu like symptoms, I hope it’s just a mastitis even though I’m not breastfeeding nor pregnant (PCOS).
I’m really not feeling well (tiredness, paleness, headaches, brain fog…). I tried to feel my breast and I felt like a lump, since I don’t really know how to do it I hope it’s nothing but I’m still kinda worried because of my family’s predispositions to cancer.
I have an appointment with my OB-GYN tomorrow and I’ll have an ultrasound, I hope they won’t see nothing severe.
