Love what you stand for, love your mission!! I really need to start because I have 3 small dogs and dentals cost a fortune but more so, like you said higher level of health & not exposing them to anesthesia less often. ( Yes, they are raw fed). 🙌🏼

Yeah for you on raw, I get not everyone can do this, but at least mildly cooked, I look at it this way, if you cook for you and yours then can do it for yourself. The same is true for ourselves, we need more raw food, but in the plant life area. Great points on the toothbrushing, for more info from a Vet, see Dr Dobias but there are others too. It's cool that you show crazy because you also showed how to be positive and get them to do calm behavior, that is fantastic to witness. Keep sharing = caring, blessings. It is all about positive, prayerful, peaceful, patient, perseverant progression for all that is good.I have seen elephants, huge horses, and all sorts of people as well do well this way. Love the vid.

It takes some dogs months to open up. And others don’t have a Ton of energy. Be sure to take her to vet for checkup

Thank you Rachel for all you do for all the dogs everywhere by giving pet parents the tools we need to care for our beloved dogs, I've learned so much from your videos! After I watched your video on heartworm meds that vet's prescribe and how terrible it is for dogs, I was shocked and frankly quite angry that vet's do not explain this when your in their office for a vet visit. To me this is appalling! Shame on them!! I immediately stopped giving my 2 year old French Bulldog Simparica Trio and opted for more natural remedies, I'm so grateful to you for opening my eyes and showing all pet parents that there is an alternative and a more natural way to care for our pets. Keep up your awesome, most important work, I know you will save all the Damm dogs😅

Summary.
If it’s their first time just start with a toothbrush you don’t need toothpaste. Don’t reprimand if they chew on it abit. Show the toothbrush them reward. Always use positive reinforcement.
After a few days starts to gently hold his snout and brush (usually start with front teeth.) Then reward. Do this for a few days.
Now you can start with toothpaste. Never use human toothpaste, you can use this czcams.com/video/nNLaUIgkiQE/video.html. Brush and reward. Make sure to get back molars, tongue and use light pressure. Do it once a day.

That’s a great video. The one important part about training is that if you show your dogs an empty hand with no treat, that can actually train your dog to know that what they just did was wrong.

Thank you for the teeth brushing video. You made it fun and easy. I am an elder, and never brushed a dog's teeth. My dog's have been on raw meat diet for 3 months, and adding tooth brushing in going to happen. Two are blind/deaf so I am curious to see if that makes it easier than with my sighted/hearing dogs. Interested in your DIY toothpaste, so will look for that video.

Good morning.
Your video is very funny and informative. I am a license veterinary technician and I am also a huge advocate of dental hygiene for dogs.
A couple of things I wanted to clarify:
There’s still not enough scientific data to support or denied the benefits of dental hygiene based on diets.
Every dog regardless of their diet needs to have it’s teeth brush at least once a day.
The huge issue with most dogs and humans a like it’s genetics. So, if you are brushing your dogs teeth on a constant basis and they still have huge amount’s of tartar build up it’s mostly genetics; don’t beat yourself up for it. Also, small breeds like yorkies or chihuahuas are prone to dental disease.
Lastly, it is recommended to have your dogs teeth professionally cleaned at least once a year. Just like humans dogs need to go to the dentist. It is a very simple procedure and they don’t feel a thing since they go under anesthesia. Most doctors will be blood tests before the procedure to make sure it is safe for them. They usually last from 30 min to an hour if there are no extractions involved.

Hello, i watched your video on how to convince your parents to buy you a dog and they agreed to fostering. If i do prove myself they said they still wont allow me to get a puppy because my mum doesnt want to look after it whilst im at school. How can i explain to her that her responsibility is minimal compared to mine as i will look after it the most. She doesnt like handling animals but doesnt mind them. Please help:)

Slow and steady positive reinforcement. Start suuuuper slow, and reward often. Get them used to it!
