Since I turned to God, started fasting, started low-bow praying and reading Bible, I quit all my unholy and sinful habits that I couldn't quit for years. God is great, kind and merciful. Yet again, Lord Jesus Christ, The son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

As a Latin Rite Catholic, I have really embraced the Jesus Prayer in my prayer life, along with a multitude of other short, spontaneous prayers to stay on the narrow road.
It is such a beautiful prayer indeed! Pray for us
As a Catholic I really love this humble prayer. We don't even need a prayer rope for it 'cause it doesn't need a specific number for it, we can say it as much as we can in the day regardless of numbers.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have Mercy on me, poor sinner.
*Lord: nobody can say Jesus is the Lord but moved by THE HOLY SPIRIT. Adoration.
*Jesus: the my SAVIOUR, my MAN, his human name given by the Angel.
*Christ: the ANNOINTED ONE in the Jordan.
*Son of the living God: the SON, the second divine person. God is ALIVE and active in our lives and in the World.
*Have mercy on me, poor sinner: touch me with you mercy, You have come to look for sinners.

By the grace of God, Im discerning the Byzantine Rite of the Eastern Catholic Church. The Jesus Prayer/Chotki is a huge part of my prayer/cell rule. I wish all would experience it! Alas it seems unknown to many in the Western Churches. A huge shame.

Yes, but the Jesus Prayer is used in all of Orthodoxy (Oriental and Eastern)
Yeah but then it has to mean something for you, it has to channel you to something to some positive emotion, or rea of your psyche or unconscious... Or else you'll be repeating things like a kid - or an old stupid woman - beleiving in magic. It certainly has a meaning that could be very sensically translated into moder words, the simpler the better actually.. You're channelling to positive thinking and positive emotions, linked to remembering your parents for exemple or your kids...
That’s not what the prayer is about… not about emotions. It is worship.
