- Today in the shop, we pick up where we left off with the distributor on the Flathead. We set our points gap, and use our newly developed timing tool to set our initial advance, then test it out on the flathead.

Nice piece of tech on the set up of these distributors, both parts 1 & 2. You might also have mentioned that after setting the points gap, remember to re-tighten the screws on the points mounting plate, though most folks probably already assumed that step.
Bought one of these and it was FLAWLESS…even a dope like me can use it. Thank you!
You’re far too kind sir, I’m glad our tool helped your project along. Thank you again for ordering!
Fantastic! Makes life so much easier, rather than risking it turning without noticing, you know you ate exact on. Well done!
Thank you sir, much appreciated!
Old school microfiche, parts cards lookup, are .005. Since they're rarely used anymore except for backup you might be able to find some. They're plastic & can be cut into strips.
Outstanding idea with the timing adjustment tool.
Got mine on order! Thanks!
Great second part. Thanks.
Looks simple enough, have you finished up on the helmet style timing fixture. Keep up the good work .
Nice tool. Have you finished the timing tool for the 3 bolt (helmet cap) distributors? Going to buy both tools
Thank you!!!!
Ordered! Awesome set up. Would be very interested in the tool for the Helmet style distributor tool that you mentioned in the video to do the same thing. Do you also have a video on how to rebuild the Helmet style distributor? Really enjoy your video's and the other helpful info you put out.
Ordered on may 16th , haven’t gotten an email confirmation or tool yet , I don’t know how to communicate with them about my order
Thank you for your order! I’m currently preparing to ship a batch of tools out. When you can, send me an email at Thehotrodworkshop@gmail.com and I’ll relay your tracking info as soon as it’s available!
will you ship overseas to Australia?
this is frustrating, how do i purchase this tool?
Looks like a fantastic tool! Would you ship to New Zealand?
If I were to perform the two straightedge method to set the advance on a 3 bolt helmet style distributor, what is the measurement and from which hole do I make the measurement? Also would the gap still be .005" on the advance side points?
These are all excellent questions that I hope to answer in the next distributor video. Stay tuned!
I would like to order one of the 2 bolt timing tools but do not see the link, maybe just too new to this.
No worries, here’s the link to my account. Thank you!
