A consistent sentiment expressed is that the war and our futures could have been very different if…
We forget that this is not our world but rather the stage for Christ’s return, and all past and future events have been predestined to this end and they are non negotiable.

Andre I have the highest regard for you both as a soldier , a leader and Pastor but disagree that names should not be mentioned. Those people destroyed our wonderful country in one or another manner , no doubt filling their pockets at the same time whilst being Judas to us all
I am most certain that no harm can befall you now if you were to do so and I can see how much you Hannes and John and even Martin ( 5RR) are hurt by what went on in the higher echelons of power. I respectfully feel you chaps should expose these scoundrels for what they were and no doubt still are.
I really am nauseated by their treachery !
Salute to all of you and please keep them coming. These episodes are a highlight in my week

The Loss of John Giles a Top Constitutional Lawyer during Negotiations Cannot be underestimated imho , Perhaps a FOI Request for all information pertaining to his death should be undertaken ,times are changing in the UK , attitudes and Diversity hires have left their secrets less well guarded, keep plugging away and never forget
“The constitution can be defined as the set of written or unwritten laws for governing a country. What are the benefits a country derives from having a constitution? The importance of a constitution to a country cannot be understated. A country without a constitution will ultimately plunge into chaos. All countries need constitution in order to run smoothly.!”

    Regarding failures.
As humans, even when we try our very best, we are limited by the characteristics of our own personality. Until fairly recently I was extremely poor at reading the essence of a personality, and I guess I'm still not good at it, but I do know my ability has changed.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, to quote Dirty Harry "Man's got to know his limitations!". We can't be good at everything.

Andre states '...with only six years of combat experience.' Wow, that's a long time - as long as WWII. Very interesting video.
One thing that always baffles me is how guys were allowed to take photographs of top secret missions. The famous photo of the Puma taking off at what must have been Chipinda Pools airstrip is a dead giveaway that South Africa was involved as the Rhodesians did not have Pumas. Were these photos developed in-house, or at commercial developers in town?

I was in the SA Army in 1980s. Even then there was still animosity towards English speakers. Many Afrikaners still have bitterness towards English speakers more than 120 years after the Boer war.
You are correct there was less bad feeling in the Navy and SAAF, but those are more professional services with higher numbers of English speakers.

    Hi Hannes
Thought of just let it slip by,but allow me to lift my opinion. As a afrikaander I can understand the ,how dit you put it" cold" shoulder you received from from afrikaners. Remember 70s was 70yr after the A Boer War.
Brittain inflicted harsh blows to the afrikaander. On my own fam my ggmother walked out of the war with husband dead 2 children dead horrific conditions in concentration camp ( at Norvals pont) 30 000 innocent woman and children died in that concentration camps.
Farmhouse burnt to ground all livestock shot in front of children. It took my fam +- 30 to recover.
Although we have the greatest respect for what you guys did in Rhodesia I will never forget the great injustice Brittain did to my forefathers a proud ,God-fearing nation was brought to knees by killing their wife's and children!
So if you don't mind forgive them that they gave you a cold shoulder!

Totally integrated and become 100% multicultural and multiracial after the Second World War. Banish all taboos with interracial marriage and schooling etc. I assure you we would have been a superpower and no one would have messed with us. I have always wondered what the criteria for "officer material" that was used to select from the ranks. Now I am convinced that the selecting officers were selecting on their likies. (Who they thought was compatible with their personalities. Who they would be comfortable having a gin and tonic with in the Officers' club.)
Newton was a genius, for example, but you would never have him around at a dinner party because he was an argumentative arsehole.
The criteria for officer selection was corrupt.

At 37:38 is Andre saying that he was tasked to assassinate John Giles? He was the constitutional lawyer on the Rhodesian side. Am I missing something here, or is the 'he' Andre refers to when he talks of 'taking him out' someone else? If Andre was tasked to kill John Giles then my next question is why? Obviously he never did as MI6 killed him according to Andre (whom I believe).

The Boer War concentration camps and the Jameson Raid provided 'the Volk' with the DNA of 'the Rhodesian'. But its more simple than that. There was no way the rest of the world would stand idly by and watch the southern tip of Africa succeed. Kissinger, an idol to some here on this channels, was the mastermind behind the way the cards were dealt. So its time to move beyond our legends. Andre wants to be transparent, no mean feat, but then proceeds to cloak the identities of the 'top dogs' All he's succeeded in doing is maintaining the self-fulfilling prophesy. For me to know, but not for the plebs. Its all a bit phony to be honest. But that's not to detract from him as a person, a wonderful example of a believer who insists on taking that step between the reality of the world and the reality of Christ's incredible act: forgiveness of sins through His grace; not through our own efforts. Simply to accept and live in faith.
