    I'm glad to come across this video: I've had my Samsung Galaxy A Tablet since December 2017, and it's charging very, very slowly. I will be getting a battery in the near future.

      Mine is "old" too. I think I got mine in either 2015 or 16. Great tablet with a long battery life. I love it.

      @@myawsum14 I ended up buying a new battery online then taking it to an electronics shop to get it installed. My tablet works much better now.

    Great!!!! thanks to this video I was able to replace the battery of the same tablet! took a lot of force, you have to very careful when taking the cables off and putting them back in !!

    Thanks for these instructions. It's nice to see that older devices are quite easy to repair. You even still get new batteries and when installing TWRP and LineageOS on the device it is still quite useful.

    PLEASE add a warning on 2 topics: the blade must be inserted on the side of the case, not around the glass. and the battery connector is very fragile. better to lift the tape carefully!!!!!!!

      Yes. It is super important, otherwise the glass will crack.

    Thanks, just did mine. You are right, the tools supplied are of no good what so ever, and had to use a kitchen knife. Unfortunately the new battery still takes hours and hours and hours to charge, despite trying a few different chargers

      Try ReplaceBase you will get a better quality battery, should fix the issue

    Thank you very very much, wow. So very easy. I even cheated by extremely carefully sliding the battery out under the the two connected cables, then replacing it, without removing the cables. Small pick tools are your friend. My question is why are there magnets all over along the edges?

    Perfect video, changed my battery, all working fine.... except...
    I found a tiny spring, about 15mm long and about .25mm in diameter. I actually found it stuck on one of the magnets but cannot see or find a place where it came from or belongs!! Any help appreciated!!!

      @@WeRepair Thank you for that prompt reply. The tablet is working beautifully without the little spring! I have a feeling it attached itself to the magnet during manufacture and must have gone unnoticed.

      I started on a corner. There are several little tools for removing the back so as I got a section loose I slid 1 between the opening & did that until it was separated far enough to help prying it apart.

      @@WeRepair Well I removed the back before watching any videos and never really thought about the gentle part. Got it with my bayonet and a bit of angling, but managed to remove it without any damage to the screen or electronics

    Thanks for the video. When i exchanged my battery, the end of the white flat flex cable with the 2 blue ends cannot go into the anker anymore. I think you called it the charging cable. do you know how it is called and where to order it?

    Good video 👍My battery only charges up to 85% and / or loses 10% capacity in a few seconds. But I don't think I will replace the battery. The 2016 Tab A is quiet old, no more software support and slow compared to a modern 21 / 22 Tablet

      Put a custom rom on it. I did and it is good as new.

      @@BroonParker Just google "Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016 custom rom".
      If you never did it on any device before, there are plenty of instructions online/on youtube.
      It seems complicated but it's not. And it is really worth it, my tablet is still running strong. Actually better than my new Samsung phone on stock rom.

    Just 1 question. I was looking for your SD card & didn't see it. Should it be removed before starting the process or does it matter? Thanks for showing this. What I thought would be a hard job looks rather easy. Now to Amazon to order the battery. 😊🖐🏼

      Yes remove it, otherwise there is a potential to snap it in half.

    Im hving trouble removing the tiny screws, the tool kit I received came whith several screw drivers. I found one that worked on two screws but the rest are not coming out. And I'm afraid of stipping them. Any suggestions?

      Don't use the screw drivers that came with a kit, they are usually rubbish. But a decent set and you should be fine

      Same thing happened to me, I guess. I never even saw the little black tab, but it's not there. lol. Did you find a solution? I see there is no reply to your comment.

      @@debbieguest1749 no I didn't find a solution. Local shop said £70 to send away and have that whole terminal replaced. They put some non conductive tape over it which held it in place enough and it accepting charge so it's ok I think😁

      Yes unfortunately the whole connector has to be replaced. Try "the computer room" in Nottingham they do a mail in service for soldering. Very good guys.

      @@nigelackroyd7991 If you still have the part and nothing is broken that part can be put back in place , it has a little nub each end that go into oles on the fixed part . Its a bit of a delicate job but very possible

    does this tablet have a reset button after taking back the backplate? I have my old childhood tablet which doesn't turn on and I'm curious if it has a reset button, maybe it'll work.

    My battery is, slow to charge, icon comes up but after many hrs it doesn't increase much and the silver L shaped component on the motherboard right next to the battery cable gets REALLY HOT... The battery itself doesn't.
    Is it worth buying a new battery or is it likely to be anything on the motherboard?

    Hey so My tablet, the same model shown, doesnt turn on without it being plugged up. Even when its like 70 it keeps rebooting over and over again till i plug it up. Is it a battery problem?

    What Happens If You Remove the Touchscreen Digitizer While the Tablet is Still Turned On? I'm replacing an unresponsive touchscreen digitizer so I am unable to power down the unit.

      I have done mine and it took about the same amount of time . Once you get past the thinking of ''oh crap im going to break it'' point while getting the back off its easy , just needs a little care with the connectors

      Nope none, very easy to get in to. Just have to be careful not to damage the glass on the screen.
