- Here is a video that I created showcasing a ton of Todd Edwards samples that I found in my own time ever since around 2017. I've been a pretty big fan of Todd's music since around 2014, but it wasn't until 2017 when I randomly stumbled across the Steely Dan 'Josie' sample that he used in 'Perfect Love.' I've been finding more 'Todd the God' samples ever since! UKG is such an outstanding artform of music.
No copyright infringement intended. I do not own any of the songs used in this video whatsoever. I do not wish or intend to make money off of this video.
As a hip hop beat maker it’s stunning to see this level of sampling in another genre. Watching this video is like being in a classroom. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this. It will be studied.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it, I've been planning on making a volume 2 and 3 sometime as I've found several samples since. I believe that finding samples also leads to discoveries of awesome music, not just for sampling, and that's the art and beauty of it
thank todd the god for all the hard smart work inventing his beats ;)
yup, he's doing some dilla style chopping
I agree well made
10:47 The origin of the drums of the song Face to Face by Daft Punk were in front of us all this time. 😮
You know, what’s really crazy, is a few days before the ZIP Disk was revealed, DJPasta showed his mom Jisco Dazz as an example of similar sounding drums to Face to Face. They were seriously right in front of us this whole time 😅
@@dannyshazam Yeah. That blow my mind! 😮🤯
Absolute genius. Todd is on a level no one else will ever get near.
HOLY SHIT THE OPEN YOUR EYES SAMPLE SOUNDS SO COOL
The amount of effort he goes into with finding samples and how he thinks to make that into a track is absolutely mad. What a legend Todd edwards is. I can’t believe you found these
I randomly discovered the samples that were used in 'Searching'. It is 'Always With You' by Libera. 😁
What a absolute legend, Fascinating to see his sampling methods
It hurts my brain trying to figure out how Todd is able to mix all of these samples together to make something completely different. I love all the work you've done with locating his samples. There are a couple samples from his others songs, which I'm pretty sure I've heard before while crate digging, but I need to do more research.
I thought he I was confused but I get it now don't ask me to explain because i can't 😅🤣😂
His remix of Veda Simpson's Ohh Baby on Nervous. Gets me everytime man.
Gonna be working on a part 2 soon! Found a bunch of new samples since :)
todd Edwards es un maestro del sampleo, su estilo musical se puede oir muy presente en face to face
Todd is a legend and so are you for discovering these samples
Sampling is so fascinating
He is a musical genius. I challenge the dance /house/electronic etc. music haters to say that this doesn’t take talent. It takes skill, talent , intelligence and a good ear.
Good video and great showcase of his masterful sampling. Truly mindblowing stuff!
i'm beyond floored with these samples. thank you so much for making this video!
Bro this is the top level tunespotting i could hope for, salute you.
Great video! Really enjoyed it! Much time went into this video trying to figure things out.
holy shit this dude is underrated
Thanks for putting together!
Fantastic sample collection. I really enjoyed this one.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
Wow, absolutely blown away.
Amazing 🤩
Wow! Excellent! Thank you! God bless!
Thank you! Same to you 😄
FYI we're also planning to include this video onto the Fan Crew channel. Vlad told me to make this video originally for the Facebook channel but I didn't know that he also wanted it on the channel.
Top work
Great video Daniel, I've watch it before but you deserve the praise 👏
Thank you so much. I just now saw this, and I really appreciate it a ton. 😃 I would have multiple volumes out by now I'm sure, but have been a bit busy with life...
Impressive from you and TE 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

. This is education right here
I love how he chopped up that Spinners song!
todd the god
Can you do "Love Inside" by Todd the God?? PLEASE🙏
🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👍👍👍
🙏☝️❤️
how on earth did you work out these samples!?
For this video, I put all of the audio files into my DAW, cut out the samples, and compared it to where the sample appears in Todd’s music. In terms of finding the samples, I’d go through many albums and just ended up finding a lot of these by listening in on the textures especially. I’ve found a few more samples ever since I made this video, so I might make a Volume 2 possibly by the end of this year depending. :)
do you have a complete list of Todd samples
I do not unfortunately. WhoSampled has a lot of good listings of what he sampled however!
thank you thank you thank you
thank you
damn this is crazy, do u know how todd did his drums? was that pure samling from vinly? or was that from drum machine?
He used to use a drum machine, but advice from someone (I think around 94?) changed his drum style to sampling of drums. Lots of his newer stuff is a mix of sampled drums, drum machines, and sometimes random objects from around the house. I know he’s made a TikTok about this topic too!
the bossa sample????? nah nah todd the GOD how
How did you find all these? With Google Assistant?
I actually never knew about Google Assistant until around July this year when people started finding samples with that. I found all of the samples featured in this video by chance, and also by carefully studying Todd’s Facebook/Instagram Livestream videos
Is it really a sample if you take off so little? I mean, it's basically smaller than a dash of salt. Just manipulating sound.
Yes. Even 1 second of someone else’s work being used in your music still deserves compensation
@@Proddopeboiavionly in music does this ring true. In fashion, speech, and art in general things are copied all the time. People just flip it and do their thing with it. That’s what makes it fun.
@@Onlythatfunkyshit That’s inspiration which is also the same idea in music called interpolation. Taking an idea from something without taking directly from the original. In a case where the person is using elements from someone else’s work tho no matter the field it’s usually compensated for
"deserves"
3:19 this is definitely not it
Back then I thought it was. It turned out to be a sample from Carole King actually
@@dannyshazam what samples are god will in god will be there? Probably another Angela bofill song
@@Thomfamily5 The “God will” vocal hasn’t been found yet, though Todd went through it in his livestream. It’s actually one of the currently most mysterious samples from the song. No one can seem to find it anywhere
@@dannyshazamI thought it was him, but pitched up
Thank you for this
