  • Discover how we simplified chisel sharpening with our DIY Chisel Sharpening Jig made using a CNC router! This video takes you through the design, CNC cutting, and assembly process using materials we had on hand.
We tested the jig's capabilities, overcoming a few hurdles during assembly but achieving great results. The adjustable design makes sharpening chisels a breeze, delivering consistently shart bevels.
Watch us sharpen a dull chisel effortlessly using our jig and DIY whetstones.
We've made the CNC files available for free on Aribabox.com, so you can make one for your workshop!

Nice job. And I KNEW you could cut that in one pass! Glad to see you finally gave it a shot!

      Thank you!
Yes, I finally gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did! 👍
What thickness do you think it's possible to cut in one pass using a 0.125 inch bit?

@@Aribaboxbaltic birch? 12mm easy, probably 19-20 with care. Solid wood...I'm a lot more conservative.
The only caveat is that as it gets thicker you'll have to slow down at some point. Then you're balancing the speed you lose against the passes you save and whether you can get away without the finish pass. Fusion 360 simulation, while not very accurate for machines like ours, is incredibly useful for comparing times as long as there aren't too many rapids.

@@tonyrichmond9428 19 - 20 mm plywood?! Sounds too good to be true 😄
Will have to test the limits and see the fastest you can go per each material thickness.
Again, thank you for all the great insight!

I think so, yes. Again, with a lot of care. Might end up not making sense if you have to slow down, but that's a stout machine you have there. Good luck!
