This an excellent review. I think comparing the two chargers is an excellent idea. I was amazed that the small charger could do four batteries at once. Reviewing safety for lipos is always a good idea. Thank you.

Good info! I suspect that CC/CV mode would be used as a DC power supply. THAT is a really cool feature!

Generaly the lipo advice is better than what most other CZcamsrs have done.. i do think the Amo box is a bit over kill personaly. i leave my race cells on storage charge in a lipo bag in my race kit and never had an issue. suppose its what ever makes you feel safer. the rest of the advice those is much better than most

@Jess not don’t care energy. It’s making sure they are properly storage charged, cycled and in decent order when stored. Been storing them that way for 10+ yrs with no issue. If a battery shows any signs of cracks or balloninv then it gets discharged and binned. Also dose depend on the quality of the lipos. As there are so many brands around with not so great quality checks. Like I said though it’s what ever makes you feel safe. Just from my experience I’d say an ammo box is over kill personally. As long as you have fun do what ever you want

This is an excellent video. I was just starting to look for upgrading the old steam powered, coal fired battery chargers......
There is a similar product available here in the states that is almost identical to the big dual GT Power charger. Pretty much the same price. The Venom series of chargers was always on my wish list. They are still some around if you look online. I don't know for sure but they might be a not be as user friendly as these two chargers and are more expensive.

I run an rc car maybe once a week, the risk v reward for me running lipo just isn't worth it. The lack of hassle running nimh, where I run the car and how often, means that lipo just isn't worth it for me. But that is my own situation.

I use an Absima APC 1 charger and for the similar cost of the smaller one on here it does far more and and charges up to 10amps also with the use of a parallel charging board it can charge multiple batteries at the same time

The X4mini 2 does not appear anywhere on the G.T. Power website. Only the X4mini (older version) is available, and that model does not appear to be compatible with the Bluetooth app. I hope this information helps others thinking of purchasing this product. Don't make the same mistake I did.

You should try a 2S Lipo, it’s 45% lighter vs an NIMh so it brings a chassis to life as well as delivered a much better power curve. Obviously your electronics have to support Lipo so that’s not vintage electronics.

@@RCKickschannel I started on NiMH but made the switch to lipo about a year ago. Was hesitant at first the internet is full of horror stories, but like you say look after your lipos and they will look after you. I only buy named branded hard case batteries, physically check them each time, only ever balance charge and storage charge them after each use. Store them in a bag in an ammo box. So far no issues at all, and the performance boost you get from your cars is awesome. I'm never going back to NiMH ;)

I use Venom products. However, Venom has gone out of business. I am now looking for something else. The software on the mini II charger appears to be the same as on my Venom Charger. My friend had a cheap Chinese made charger it also had the same software on the charger. It would appear that the operating software has been stolen. From who? Not sure. My Venom charger had this software for over 8 years and it still works. Thoughts?

@@RCKickschannel I believe he was storage charging a small 2S. He's not new to RCs or lipo batteries and very experienced. It scared the hell out of him, fortunately he didn't leave it unattended so caught it fairly quickly, but has caused a fair amount of damage. My friends and I have been using lipos for years and never had an issue but this has definitely opened my eyes to the very real potential dangers and will never charge in the house again.
