My favorite 4th of July was in 1976! Everyone was so happy about the 200th birthday of our nation. I was about 11, we went to celebrations all over the county.

Another happy video! My favorite July 4th memory is hiking up a local mountain with my daughters, then we climbed the firetower on top of that mountain. We faced the neareast town having fireworks. Sat there surrounded by gorgeous hazy sunset, drinking lemonade we had carried up and waited for the show to begin 12 miles away. Afterward we hiked down in the dark.

My favorite 4th memory is a tie between when my son (35 & a father) participate in the Little Boy Boone County contest when he was about 5 years old & then just this year, watch my grand daughter (19 mo old) participate in the Little Baby Girl contest. Watching her just brought back so many great memories & feel so special.

Loved the fabric tour today! Great job Peter and Maggie! My fondest 4th of July memories are back when mom and dad would load all 5 of us kids in the station wagon and go to Arbuckle Acres park in Brownsburg to watch fireworks. We would put a blanket on the ground and ooh and ahh at the beautiful fireworks.

Im not sure if the drawing is over, but my favorite 4th of July memory is when the family all lived in the same area and we all got together to go see fireworks. I’m 76 and we are now spread out over the country. I also wanted to mention that I just love when Maggy does the What’s New podcast. She makes me smile all the way through and makes my day!!!

One of my favorite 4th of July was watching fireworks in Pittsburg, PA. They just kept going & going & going. We finally left after an hour and they were still going!!! Also many memories of our children & grandchildren watching fireworks in St. Joseph, MI over lake Michigan.

Maggie, you make the Whats new videos so much fun. You will be missed when you go back to college. Many years ago, we were at a family reunion along the Ohio River. We had our grandkids with us as we watched a barge come down the river shooting off the fireworks.

Growing up, we would always go to my aunt and uncle's house for a cookout and swimming in the pool. He always had fireworks at dark. It was great just getting to have fun with family and friends. We always had great food and watermelon and homemade ice cream for dessert.

Way to go Maggie & Peter. I’ve had so many wonderful Fourth memories it’s hard to pick one so I’ll take a deep dive to the 1960s. We would decorate our bikes with crepe paper streamers and add baseball cards to the spokes with clothes pins so they would make a flapping noise. Then we would ride our bikes to the town parade and jump in at the end following the parade. Really fun and tons of kids! Anyone else decorate their bikes?

My favorite memory of 4th of July was going to my grandmother's house in the morning to watch the parade that would be a block away from her house, then afterwards my dad would take my brother and me to the nearby park where a carnival was in town with games and rides. That evening we would take blankets and head out to watch fireworks! This would have been around 1957-59. Such a different time.

Actually I have two favorite memories of July 4th activities. The first one is all of the family at my grandparents, grilling out, Paka making homemade ice cream, watching fireworks, all of us kids (lots of cousins) using sparklers to write our names in the sky as the adults were telling us to not get too close to each other! The second one is when we took the grandmothers on each side with us to Missouri to celebrate the 4th. Watching fireworks over the lake, grilling out, and all the activities. Seeing a family of skunks and the babies got separated from their mother with one going on our porch. My MIL was hoping it would go inside because she always wanted a baby skunk! Thankfully, it did not!

Enjoyed seeing the new fabric as I always do. Good luck at college when you start back up! Favorite 4th of July 🎉memory would be from years ago. My Dad got us a spot on a hill where my 4 sisters and I could take our kids too watch. We took blankets to sit on and our many little ones were excited. As the excitement built and the show started we realized just how close we were to the launching site and the wind direction was carrying the fallout debris over us. We wound up covering heads with blankets as ash started dropping. Everyone survived with no injuries. My Dad never offered to have us go to the hill to watch again!😂

My favorite 4th of July memory was when I got my drivers license and my dad brought home a brand new Chevy Vega for me. I then drove my mom, dad and myself to the local fireworks! Everyone was oohing and aahing over my new car. That was in 1974!

My favorite July 4th memory is watching the fireworks after the air show over the Mississippi River in Dubuque, IA. Dubuque is my hometown and we often traveled there with our small children to celebrate the holiday! There’s nothing more beautiful than watching the fireworks reflecting off the river! My favorite July 4th memory!

Maggie, you are a bundle of energy and keep things moving! The Primitive Gatherings flannels are so cozy looking. I'm thinking of starting a rag quilt, but hesitant in that if I start it may not be finished until 2055! My favorite 4th of July memories are from my childhood in Juneau, AK. We'd start with the fireworks at midnight July 3rd (12AM July 4th) that were sent off from a barge in Gastineau Channel. We would watch from Douglas Island. Then later on the 4th, we'd go to the parade in downtown Juneau. Everyone always comments how rainy Southeast Alaska is, but it always seemed like the parades were rain free and we'd have sunny Independence Days.

One of my favorite 4th of July memories is of watching my daughter and her brownie troup march with their flags in the local Lawrence, IN, parade and then spreading out our blankets on the ground to watch the fireworks and music at Fort Benjamin Harrison along with family and friends.

Favorite story of July 4th: At a summer party, back quite a few years ago, one of the guests brought out fireworks. He did the entire set-up and then called everyone out to watch. Anticipation was high. We were waiting to go "Ooh" and "Aah." So he began lighting them and nothing happened. Nothing. They went "Hiss. Fizz." and then just died out. And all of the spectators just about rolled on the ground laughing. It had to be the most memorable and the funniest.

Great video like always!!! My favorite 4th memory is when my kids were little. They would dress up in ALL the patriotic gear, hold little flags, and my husband would lead them marching ALL around the house in a "pretend" parade to patriotic music.

Maggie, I have another suggestion for the beautiful fabrics you show. Bags. I make bags: handbags and tote bags. Us bagmakers always look for fun and exciting new fabrics. So when you talk about quilts, give a shout out to bagmakers!!!

When we were younger we’d park in the fairgrounds and mom and dad would let us sit on the hood of car..if we took truck then we’d be in back of truck. You went early..walked around and talked to friends..then the line took forever to get out. Growing up on farm sometimes we were cutting wheat, baling straw or even hay..but we always made it to fairgrounds for fireworks.
