remember that if you get 3 knights it upgrades your knight to lvl 2
Yeah if you combine them
But if you don’t combine you can have functionally a level three knight but you have to sacrifice three slots on your squad

I would love the analysis of the lost games too. I know there's a trope of know-it-all viewers raising a stink but as someone new to chess I love seeing the learning and learning alongside egg
Hey NL, use could use the button "show line" bellow the move in the analysis to see the line after the move (usually 5-10 moves ahead). Very often it helps me to understand the idea behind the move being either a mistake or best and why there is a 2 points difference, like that bishop move at 10:04.
NL is so nice, he gives up material to help his opponents develop faster
33:50 Pawns can capture diagonally yes, but that pawn was overloaded, it was solely guarding both the bishop and the rook. Take it with your rook, and when it takes you, your king is free to take the opponents rook. Wins you a bishop.
How does one take a rook if there is nothing attacking it on g8. Unless you mean take the bishop when the rook was on g4, but then the pawn doesn't have to take, the rook can take it. Am I missing something?
@@user-go3nh9mz5i Pause the video at 33:40 for the position I'm talking about. I tagged it at 33:50 because NL was being snarky there to a viewer who was correct lol. At 33:40 NL can take the bishop on e4 because the pawn "guarding it" is overloaded and can not take back on e4 because it is also guarding the black rook on g4. So if it takes NL's rook on e4 NL can capture blacks rook on g4 with his king.

@@utm0st No I'm talking about the mistake NL made moving his bishop to d6, BEFORE NL makes his move of bishop to d6 the Black rook can't take on e4 because NL's bishop would have been in the way if he played it correctly.

This video is old and I've probably even watched it before, BUT I'm still dying at NL thinking he got a sick discovered check double attack on the rook at 32:14. Opponent just blundered and could have just taken NL's queen with the rook that was threatened

Just play it while you sleep, you'll still absorb a non-negligible amount of content (>1%) while boosting the algo
The trick is to watch at *at least* 1.5x. The 20 Minutes Till Dawn videos were 2x Marties for sure.

@oBtuse He can't take with the queen because the knight jumps to H1 and forks the king and queen. King takes is really the best move so you don't lose a rook for no reason

I just had an opponent lose 10 points of material by the time I lost more than a bishop...
Then blundered my queen, almost got mated, had my opponent blunder their queen and managed to win before losing on time.
I would have done terrible things if I actually lost after being +7 with 15 pieces on my side.

Don’t worry, everyone is in the same boat. I’m 2000 puzzles but 1200 rapid….goes to show.
It's best not to think of Puzzle rating and actual rating as being on the same scale. Everyone's Puzzle rating is higher than their normal rating.

The "I wouldn't have done that one" after hanging his queen was the best. Damn he is playing a lot worse than I remember. Northernlion you gotta start playing chess again you were missing tactics you always used to spot. Edit: And it's worse than I thought, watching this analysis with him you can see how much he has lost, he isn't seeing anything. With love and respect.
Hanging his queen while similarly making fun of his opponent's move. Would think that this tactic was the reason his opponent moved Rg8 in the first place, so he would force the queen to move. But hey, I've done similar blunders myself.
14:19 not a queens gambit declined but a marshal attack which is not the best for black if white knows what theyre doing, and obviously white in this case knows the queens gambit setup but no actual theory
