Great film, really beginning to like your work. Top marks to Qatar for doing a decent well packed pre-arrival snack on a 6.5 hour flight. I often fly Emirates Glasgow - Dubai on a 7 hour flight were the pre-arrival food is a "Galaxy Caramel Cake"
Hehehehe thanks, dude! It's interesting how Qatar and Emirates have different approaches to meal services. Emirates tends to serve only 1 meal on 7 hour flights but has pretty generous portions. Qatar's portion of the main meal are much smaller but then you get the pre-arrival snack. Overall though, in terms of service, I think I prefer Emirates. I find Emirates crew more lively than those on Qatar.

+When I Travel The World Thanks 🙏 Qatar really know how to do food - always have three options - Asian, Western, and vegetarian. While this meal was slightly over-seasoned All other meals on this trip hit the spot.
The weather was slighty too nice for leaving Scotland behind haha, especially for wet-season Thailand!
Got three more videos to come for Qatar for this trip and I am now booked on Norwegian to Providence in July from Edinburgh! Can't wait for that one.

SO PLANE the 2016 built 777-300s are awesome..great lighting, no ife box..lovely plane to fly on!
Hey Mikey! Yeah, I really do like their 777s! Find them quite comfortable. Much more comfortable than Air Canada 777s.

SO PLANE were going to The four seasons in Kuda Huraa (the maldives) via doha😊
+Robbie Sharp Amazing! The Maldives are also on my bucket list...one day, one day! Re Turbulence - it was fairly mild (barely noticeable) but Qatar seems to have a policy where if there is any chance of a slight bump hot beverages are off the menu. Had the same happening two years ago when I last flew them. Had Lufthansa continue service as normal during much worse turbulences!
I did Perth-Doha via a brand new 777-300Er then Doha to Edinburgh via the 787 - I liked the 777 experience but the 787 felt a little dated, especially with the ife boxes taking up legroom! The flight was pleasant though and the service was good!
It's funny that the 787 felt dated....I had the same feeling! Qatar's 380 and 777 were much nicer I thought.
there is a bus that also takes you direct from Buchanan bus station to Edinburgh airport its the AIR - Edinburgh Airport
Hi Brad! Thanks for watching :D Yes, I've taken that bus many a times! When I travel with my hubby, sometimes it's cheaper (or more convenient) to just take the car than making our way into town to take the bus. I do like it a lot though and makes flying from EDI a lot easier for west coast folk. Have you used it?
I haven't no, but i have them it while there.
Not a fan of these inflight meals so always take a packed lunch to make sure I enjoy my journey, what the hell was that beef composte.
Really???? I love plane food...haha...I always find Qatar food pretty good. The beef was actually quite tender on this flight.

Thanks so much for your comment! I use a Sony DSC-HX60 for the internal shots. It's a great wee camera with an amazing zoom and a good enough anti-shake stabiliser.

waqqy1416 I totally know what you mean! I mean, the worst that could happen is for them to ask you to take it off. Sometimes that happens for take off and landing. You can still hold it though (I once stuck it on a selfie stick for take off and landing - probably a bit shaky but works). Alternatively, just ask the crew first! That's what I did when I started out but once I realised that most don't actually care, I stopped asking.

A7-BCY used to have a logo up front that said 25th Dreamliner for Qatar Airways. Shame it was removed. Also economy class looks very cramped, and geared towards hauling more people rather than being roomy. Aside from that still like the Dreamliner, even if not this configuration.
Oh I didn't know that! Economy was pretty standard in terms of seat width but the seat pitch wasn't too bad. The Qatar service itself was great as always. Is JAL the only airline that has 2-4-2 on 787s?

+H Masoum7 Hey again! Yes, the Sony camera is the one with the mega zoom. I got mine on Ebay second hand which saved me a bit of money. I use iMovie on my Macbook for editing. It is by far the easiest tool I have ever used. So so easy and it comes free with Apple devices. Any other questions, let me know!

Quite fantastic some 20 years ago passengers from Edinburgh to Middle East Asia etc had first to fly BA Shuttle to Heathrow...now they can fly directly to a hub in the middle east and then a large part of the world?
How things have changed, eh? I remember taking the Heathrow shuttle to Edinburgh and BA serving a full meal - hot main, salad and dessert! And the only time you would land in the Middle East was to refuel on flight to Asia when the winds were unfavourable.
yes the meals on intra European flights are long gone.....and these Middle Eastern carriers flying to regional UK airports will snatch business from London Heathrow and Gatwick...a lot of ethnic passengers reside outside of the London area...why should they go through all the hassle of going first to one of the Mega London airports in order to reach Accra,Dhaka,Islamabad or Nairobi?? PIA however haven t been that successful with its flight from regional UK airports to Pakistan.....that Middle east(Dubai) where SIA or BA B 747 s used to refuel was a very small place...Dubai has grown together with Emirates...frankly I much rather transit Doha or Dubai than any ugly CDG,LHR or Frankfurt....they are just mimicking Dubai...for a long time Heathrow T3 was a very dull place with one coffe shop and one tax free shop(!(1987) for all those passenger loads to feed the B 747.....sorry to say but the European carriers have been left behind by the Middle eastern carriers...
While I agree re. LHR, I have to say that I have a soft spot for FRA! I love that place and I am a bit Lufthansa fan. They are my preferred choice but if the price is right, I'd just fly with anyone (well....sort of). I do like Doha and Dubai for transiting though and my travels on QR and EK have been nothing but splendid!
i use that same flight a few times on my way to Bangkok. Doha is bang on half way. Just perfect.
SOPLANE good to hear you like FRA, in a couple of months I'll be flying Qatar. BRU-BKK, but in a 3-way leg, first to FRA with Lufthansa and then with the A380 to DOH, price was the same than the 2-way leg. That's why we all love flying :)

How was this seat and legroom , food , drink and entertainment system ???
Hey! The seat was great - I found it really comfortable but I am quite short at 167. I also had the middle seat free. The food was excellent - they always offer three choices - Asian, Western, and vegetarian. Most often, the Asian option is Indian. Drinks are bottomless - the people in front of me had 19 gin and tonics and 5 glasses of wine. Entertainment system was good - lagging a bit but selection was good, although not as extensive as Emirates. Hope this answers your questions?

I travelled from Edinburgh to Bangkok via Doha return and none of my flights were full. I always had an empty seat next to me. I flew last month, May. However, this has no indication on how full your flight will be I would assume.

Hi there! Not on this particular flight, no. I did get one on the DOH-BKK leg though.
@@SOPLANETUBE Is it possible that flights return to Doha doesn't provide amenity kit? I'm flying PEN-DOH-ZRH this year end.
@@weihangtang6540 Dont't quote me on this but from my experience they offer amenity kits for night flights. So if one your flights is a night flight, it is likely that you will get an amenity kit. Also bear in mind that EDI-DOH is a relatively short flight at 6.5 hours which is probably why there wasn't a kid.

Let's see what i meant was: could be this same video but without the music and without the accelaration because you accelarated the video on the start up we couldn't hear the engines and you accelerated the take off, the funny parts. Like you did we couldnt hear the pilots and flight atendants adressing the passangers.

I understood what you meant 😀 What I was trying to say is that I don't usually travel alone and there will be a lot of me talking on the video 😂 except for when there are FA/ pilot announcements. If you watch my videos I actually edit it so that you get some announcements. I also have take-offs and landings in real time. Let me see how much of me chatting away is on this video and as long as there isn't anything too offensive, I can give it a go!
