Mid-Late Game Full Guide: • ULTIMATE Mid-Late Game...
#thresh #guide #leagueoflegends #support #indepth #coachcupcake
Yesterday i thought about how amazing it would be if coach cupcake would make an in-depth thresh guide. and here it is. absolutely amazing, omg.
Hope you learn something :) thanks for the support.
I'm a Thresh main, watching this video I understood some mechanics that I couldn't make properly, I also enjoyed the macro & roaming, very important for support. I appreciate the content and I'll watch more of it 👍
Thanks for watching, I'm glad you still got use out of it as a Thresh main :)
My goal for years has been to reach Platinum. Thresh has always been my main. Today I reached Plat, playing Thresh. Thank you so much for your guides, especially the ones on mentality. They helped me a lot. Keep up the great work.
Congrats on plat! I'm glad my videos helped.
At 15:45 you talked about you can only use your Q to pull yourself towards the enemy but you can do it before, when you only pulled him once, also you can instanty pull yourself towards minions and monsters.
Dont forget about the "lolipop effect" on his Q (if you hook next to minions and it goes next to those and the enemy is behind those you can still hit those)
Also be careful, in higher elo /scrims / official games some can "just ward" ontop of your lantern with pink wards (which can stop your mates from clicking on the lantern)
His E also has a lil hitbox next to himselfwhich can displace the enemy.
But so far a great video, i hope i can see more videos like this one in the future
Yeah I probably should've brought up some more points in 1%s, didn't really know where to fit some of these interactions.
@@CoachCupcake Also i forgot that his Lantern also can block ppl when they try to run away inbetween the turret and the wall, if right placed, it can happen that it blocks their path and the "walk-way" is going to be AROUND the turret aka back into you and you ADC.
Thank you very much! Finally in-depth guide on thresh🎉
Been waiting for this since your first champ guide, thank you for the great content!
Thanks for watching!
Love your guides ! Hope you can release more on all supports in the future too, keep it up !
Thanks a lot :)
You are an absolute legend! I've watched all your other in depth videos a minimum of twice each!
Thanks for the support!
Bro I picked up Thresh 4 days ago and this came out 😂🎉 thanks so much for all the effort you put in to these! Much support
I appreciate the kind words!
thank you so much, I'm a one-trick thresh stuck in platinum for 4 years and this guide was really helpful and I'll definitely watch it a few more times.
Hope it helps :) thanks for watching
Incredible content. Thanks for making this Cupcake
Thanks for the kind words
Oh my god it happened!!
great guide. thank you very much
Hope it helps!
Love this guide. It taught me a lot. Thank you.
I’m happy to hear that :) thank you
Nice guide learned a lot thanks!
I knew you’d make this eventually. It’s beautiful 😍
thanks for watching!
This was great, thank you!
thanks for watching!
Best guide if seen just picked up thresh and this is such good advice 👍
Thanks for the support!
Very good guide!
Thanks for watching!
I love thresh and this is the perfet content, loved your Rell guide as well !
Thanks for watching!
Finally! Thank you!
AMAZING, video man!
Thanks!
Well done, super helpful
Thanks for watching!
Very good guide for thresh players, but for boosts I do have a different opinion.
cdr and mobi are definitely good opinions for thresh. But you want to build mercury boots if you play vs zyra, lux or any other type of support that have rooting abilities.
The reason why is that sometimes that you will get rooted for landing a hook at the same time (0.5 s channeling time). But with the mercury boots will allow you to still go in on them after the root ends but cdr and mobi sometimes will block you to engage in completely. (lux q will root you for 2 sec and zyra e at lv5 also has 2 sec duration while thresh first q holds for 1.5 sec)
amazing i loved it
Thanks for watching!
love this as a thresh main myself
This is incredible thank god for the goated support coach
Thanks!
Nice video coach
Thanks for watching :)
Best LoL support education on CZcams. How do you not have more views/subscribers?
I'm a bard main, but have been having strange Thresh urges recently..
I feel you there, I'm picking Thresh much more than my main Bard nowadays. Thanks for the kind words!
legend !
Thanks bro
Thanks a lot for that deep of a dive into Thresh! There is a lot of ground covered that really hard to find in a most of the videos about Thresh or supports in general. Especially that thing about souls not revealing you when Thresh out of enemy's vision. I only learned that in other video couple of days ago despite playing this champ for a few seasons.
I also wondering: does Thresh ever need to buy magic resist items like Force of Nature? Obviously when enemy team are all heavy AP champs, but i just automaticly buying it whenever i see my pretty low MR stat and very fed Zyra&Zoe or something like that. Is health items like Knight's Vow really more effective?
I must've missed this comment sorry! No you shouldn't ever index into MR really. You won't be able to stack CDR effectively and you shouldn't be front-lining anyway. Stacking health and at most resistances from merc treads or locket should be enough with reasonable positioning.
I am a wild rift player (never played LOL PC before and i am pretty old to start now), and i was looking to learn initially how to play Pyke. I came upon your content and it is mindblowing what you are explaining in your vids. The way you coach thresh is no-where near how wild rift players play him. Off course, is a faster pace LOL game, however, the concepts should be the same (for example the way you first space before you engage). I will try to use all those tips and see how good i can be. Thanks a lot for your videos!
Hope the concepts carry over as much as they can for you :)
Amazing guide! make me want to play thresh
He is a lot of fun!
I came to upvote and comment. Best coach euw.
Thanks for the support! But I am from OCE haha
Oh damn. Didn't knew. I would love to see you in one of the episodes of "broken by concept". Would love if you get in touch, you guys are the best ♥
Man i cant believe this! I started Pyke because of u and i already have 200k points on him, but then i wanted to learn thresh and u gave us a guide! I love u
I hope they help to set you on the right path!
Such a cool and useful guide! Can u do lulu next pls?
best thresh guide on youtube
Much appreciated!
Learned something new even though i have over 250k mastery on Thresh. Thanks for the great content!
I'm happy to have helped!
IT'S TIME FOR THE MAIN YEAAAA
Thanks for this in-depth thresh guide! But just to discuss, how useful is it to build Anathema's Chains into a fed enemy? I would appreciate thoughts on the build components as well as the finished item :)
Edit: 1:09:59 I have 777k mastery on thresh and I didn't know soul are invisible to enemy when you're in fog :o I've been playing all my games respecting the passive soul range when ganking another lane =.=
It is useful. health and ability haste are great stats to stack on Thresh. Also makes Q stun longer. Components are fine just go kindlegem first.
Yeah it'd be helpful if they changed the visual!
You can also run more of a front lineish build with radiant if you need a front line in your team (looking at Ap/ranged tops)
Can go zohnyas for after you ult
Liked and subscribed
Much appreciated!
Agree. You need confidence when you chose to play Thresh
thoughts on Swifties instead of Mobis/Ionian? always liked the lower price point, and sticking to people after glacial pops feels nicer this way than with mobis imo. great vid :)
See the end of the items section for my thoughts.
@@CoachCupcake somehow missed that... thanks anyway lol
Especially vs poke comps in early game or in case of mispositioning in general when Mobis drop yours MS to such a state when you get heavily punished for buying them. Prefered Boots of Swiftness before that guide, but Ionian really boost your Ability Haste.
@@threshprinceeuw yeah ive been running Ionians since this vid and you really can feel the haste, kinda hard to go back to just moving a bit quicker lol
1:03:45 This convinced me, dude ain't kidding when he said to build for CD. Is this build still good with the latest patch?
It's much harder to stack CDR nowadays. Best you can do is shurelya's and knights vow and hope for the best, so you won't cc chain with hooks like before.
@@CoachCupcake Thank you I'll try it! Still the best thresh guide imo
LETSS GOOOOO
As a bruiser thresh top main this is informative
I'm happy to hear that!
Hey Cupcake, you didnt mantion anything about Thornmail when you were talking about items. I just wonder why, I build it almost every game im against Enchanters and Regeneration champs.
goat
i'm coming here every single week waiting for this, I did masterize rakan but I do have a 0% win rate against tresh and I did a tryout on a team and they wanted me to pick tresh but I'm too bad with this champ so I lost, ty cupcake now I can be a immoral sup
Good luck!
@@CoachCupcake ty, also nice mustache
In regards to the rune setups, how do you feel about zombie ward + relentless hunter?
If for some reason you are deciding to completely ditch bot lane, it can be decent. I think I had 1 game with a karthus ADC where I ran this setup.
I saw your video on champion pool and as a gold player u dont recommend tresh.
My problem is I like him a lot cause he feels engagy but not so much I have to go in like a Leona would and also it feels like I can buy supportive items for my teammates and empower/peel them like a enchanter would.
I feel like I dont quite identify myself fully with neither enchanter nor engage so trehsh is a nice mix.
I assume u would say its a choice I have to make to sign a contract thay my climb will be rockier, so my question would be what should I do in order to gain more consistency even tough Im using a playmaker, being trehsh, pyke or bard?
Yes the fluidity of identity is exactly what makes the playmakers harder to master. A simple identity, either engage or disengage, is easier to understand and then become expert at. I understand the fun of playmakers but they're a double-edged sword in that regard. There's no shortcut to gain consistency on such complex champs.
🐐
had no idea q recast makes lantern stay until he reaches the target woah
I love your content ❤️, maybe one day, could you make a senna guide? Since she is kind of different than other supports in what she wants to do in the game
Thanks for watching! I'm sure I'll get around to Senna one day, she is unique and a lot of fun.
I echo this. Would love to see your approach to Senna as it's one of the few supports I've struggled with.
Senna would be amazing, but one day does not sound like anytime soon :
Im waiting for a senna guide too, ive been playing him, but its pretty hard
Hey coach, speaking as someone who is very low elo (silver) it seems to me that Thresh is too difficult a champion for a player like me given the precision and timing required to use his abilities correctly. Is Thresh worth learning still, or would it be better to focus on an easier champion?
If your primary goal is improvement, you should not play Thresh below minimum plat IMO.
u ever tried ghost instead of flash ive been messing with it and it feels pretty good ngl kinda what ady does with attack speed double resist runes e max ghost
Flash is too crucial for Thresh for that flash flay into hook, or flash lantern gank setup, and having hexflash for additional threat throughout the game!
I go 2nd part Sorcery cuz of Nimbus Cloak provides short burst of ms when you use hexaflash and ofcorse i go Celerity. When i have good cc team i switch cosmic insight for Approach Velocity its insane ms for landing e q combo ...😂😂😂 People in enemy team get pissed a lot😅😅😅
Hey, was watching this to expand my champ pool past onetricking Pyke and when you said Pyke is good into Thresh, as a relatively low elo (euw master), it had me very confused. I struggle against Thresh on Pyke very hard, whats the key to the matchup that makes it Pyke favored? I feel like Thresh is always able to completely stop Pyke from doing anything as he can very reliably cancel Pyke's E and Q and has a significantly stronger hook.
Great guide btw, very insightful.
Pyke Q shorter CD than Thresh's entire kit, investing your flash to set up a play will feel good, Thresh can't control the bushes due to Pyke's threat, stronger all-ins, sustain with passive, you should be able to overwhelm Thresh. Pyke Q should never get interrupted, stay out of his E range, or be in fog, or fast hook Q. Can't say much more outside of going over a game in a coaching session tbh
@@CoachCupcake Alright, thanks boss! Will go vod review some games and look out for what you said.
Since the glacial nerfs would you change the keystone!? Or keep it as glacial?
Probably still glacial, I don't think the nerfs are enough to warrant swapping. The alternatives aren't great and there's a lot of utility still.
@@CoachCupcake Roger that thank you for the guide I didn’t say it in my last comment the guides you make always help me keep up the great work
Hey, with the upcoming mid-season changes, will Thresh get weaker? As we can see in the PBE, a lot of his items are losing the Ability Haste
Yes the ability haste stacking is harder now! I would say overall this makes him weaker although definitely still playable.
Any chance you're doing an Alistar guide in the near future?
Unsure what the next champ guide will be following the near future enchanter champion.
In-depth Alistar please!!!)
Plz master Cupcake when comes the Karma guide?
31:25 I throw out my lanterns at different spots behind me and walk up towards them as if I'm lanterning in my jungler. I'm all about playing mind games with their bot lane. Then when my jungler is really here (like the Lee Sin was), they have a reason to not believe that he's actually here. That's when I actually do the lantern>flash>ability combo on them.
Playing mind games with them is all part of the "showing/having confidence" thing you mentioned.
best skin to carry ?
can we get a Braum guide feels like there is no love for Big Boy Braum :((
I'd love to make one, if enough people would enjoy it!
@@CoachCupcake I'm sure many braum mains would. The current guides are nearing 1 years old or more. Not that they are bad, but I'm sure you will go more in-depth.
all still viable nowadays?
The build is different since the mid-season update of course, it's much harder to stack CDR and we should avoid mandate with it giving 0 health now. We can try the 15 CDR items like knights vow and zeke's but it won't have the same perma cc as before. Redemption is a solid item but no CDR. Otherwise the rest of the guide applies!
Should a silver player avoid this champ? I read they should because hes too hard but is this true?
If your priority is to climb as smoothly as possible, yes. If you love the champ, understand you're complicating your journey by playing such a mechanically intensive champ where you need to learn the fundamentals of the game.
I like tahm into thresh because tahm dumpsters him no further elaboration.
Sorry I just love tahm kench.
I also enjoy Tahm! I could've talked more about all 3 wardens probably.
first❤️
Why'd you used a Dirt tier matchup for making a support guide? LOL.
