  • Noooo! The UK government has closed all the pubs in England but don’t worry I’ve got plenty lined up for us to visit virtually as we crank it up north from Wolverhampton.

    I love your canal boat travels and sharing your experiences as you navigate around the country. Rather a lot of pub time innit. I used to be a social drinker, then realized I was drinking socially 24 / 7. I appreciate your love of the finer real ales though, cheers!

    Will look forward to the Great Haywood bit, I was born there in my Grandmother's cottage a loooooong time ago, never lived there although spent many holidays there as a child frequently down by the canal and river, have some photos too in the 1950s.

    The Anchor at Cross Green was a very convenient overnight eatery/stop back in the late 70's when I first cruised the S & W. Been back in two or three times on subsequent cruises. I seem to recall that the bank then was solid concrete slabs, subject to quite a bit of movement making a somewhat uneven & irregular walkway.

    Hi Robbie,
    Just to say, I caught up with your BBC series recently, thanks to CZcams - I live overseas and couldn’t get it on IPlayer. I thought it was wonderful. I was so glad you/they hadn’t given into the temptation of making the series driven by “jeopardy” or challenge as so many are. It reflected your Vlog really well and was beautifully planned and produced. Bravo, and thank you.

    We'll be losing our Cumbrian village pubs at this rate. Between lockdowns, ours had a half of the original custom. Now closed on a 2nd lockdown and with Winter hitting soon, I can't see many surviving.Totally unnecessary, as everyone was following the rules. Missing the couple of pints of Swan Blonde or Golden Plover on the way home from a gruelling day on the building site.

When we came up from Gloucester we developed a problem with the electrics on Spook. We called there and Orph/Phil/Dave sorted the problem. The good news, in the evenings they have a nice little bar which gets well used by locals and has a great atmosphere with superb service by Orphs boss Janet. This covid is getting old real quick. If more of the Pubs are having to close up because of covid perhaps you could do a 'Pub-lite' of the week? While not a true POTW, any review good or otherwise is a free advert for them and may just keep them from going out of business. Or you could do a Micro-brew of the week, sampling some local brews and which pubs they are sold from. There have been a lot of places here in the states, "great little mom and shops", which have gone out of business for lack of a steady customer flow.

    • @MiamiVisor
      @MiamiVisor Před 3 lety +2

      The public is under the delusion COVID will be going away shortly, but the truth is elites plan on thrusting the scamdemic on us for years to come until average people are financially ruined and oligarchs control all the wealth. The CARES Act was the largest transfer of wealth to the rich IN HUMAN HISTORY, and still the public sees no red flags, that's how conditioned we've become to be blindly compliant as you say. It's disturbing to know better and watch this all play out.
